Event: Classic Computing 2006 nearly booked up
The Classic Computing 2006 is taking place on 30 September and 1 October 2006 in Nordhorn. The number of registrations and the response of the press is, according to the organisers, already in the run-up exceeding all expectations.

Status update of the OpenOffice porting
The developers of the Amiga porting of OpenOffice.org inform that so far some of the conditions for a port of the Ofiice packet had already been created; in the meantime Amiga versions of libusb, aspell and neon have been available, a version of csh is already in process.
Additional developers are needed for the buildup of a complete data base with all connections as well as for the completion of the csh port. Those works have to be finished before the beginning of the actual OpenOffice porting.
Interested developers should subscribe the mailing list of the project to obtain further details there.
(Note of the editorial office: the website amigaopenoffice.org has been hacked recently and is therefore currently not available).

New German Printmagazin: RETRO
"Retro" is a new german Printmagazin, but only in german language.
German notification:
"Retro" ist der Trend unserer Zeit - daran gibt es
keinen Zweifel. Menschen erinnern sich gerne an Musik,
Mode und Fernsehsendungen aus Kindheit, Jugend und den
frühen Erwachsenentagen. Sie mischen alte Erinnerungen
mit dem Lebensgefühl der Gegenwart und haben viel Spaß
dabei. 80er-Shows, Hit-Remixes und Neuauflagen
zahlreicher Computerspieleklassiker machen es vor.
Die "gute alte Zeit" lebt wieder auf. Denn "Retro"
heißt eigentlich "rückwärtsgewandt" - doch RETRO, das
neue Magazin aus dem CSW-Verlag, ist alles andere als
das. Hier wird nichts verklärt und der Vergangenheit
nicht hinterher geweint - hier werden stattdessen mit
