Heise April Fools: MP3 with MOD Tracker Modification
In their first report of the day Heise.de offers Further MP3 Efficiency Leap. The article describes how, comparably to the idea that was earlier used in the "Tracker-Zeit," similar pattern inside an MP3 song may be re-used.
Quote (translated): "The idea for dMP3 is a quasi-reminiscence of the 16 Bit Era: because without good software instruments MIDI simply only produces sad beeps, the Tracker/MOD scene, which reached its high points in the 16 Bit Era, has reinvented itself."
Update: (1st April, 2004, 5:39 pm, snx)
Original title of the report recreated, after the April Fools joke was camouflaged this morning on account of readers' wishes.
