Yesterday a directive advice for patenting computer implemented inventions bas been accepted by the Committee on Legal Affairs and the Internal Market (JURI) at the the Brussels' EU parliament.

Golem: Apple attempts to stop the Barebone Mac project

The small company evolved from the private "Mac Based Computer Project" CoreComputers, that has its activities at www.2khappyware.com, has lost its supplier due to some Apple investigations. The supplier must not - reasoned by some contract details, sell hardware compounds to a computer manufacturer. Kickflash OS4: Final product specifications
Due to the high demand, Kickflash OS4, which has been announced on June 2nd, has been revised. The base version now has 1MB of flash memory, and can be expanded to 1GB on an expansion port. Transfer rates can be compared to normal hard drives, but the common access times of mechanical mass-storage media practically don't exist on flash memory: On random access, so-called solid-state memory is about tenthousand times faster than common hard drives. more ...
