Heise: Microsoft Fires Contra Open Source
«How does the evil come to earth? With Open Source, if one wants to
believe Microsoft's chief for Windows, Jim Allchin. Open Source could
smother each and every innovation; it "destroys intellectual property",
said Allchin, and politicians would have to recognize this danger.
Open source would be the death of any inducement to invest in research and
development. Allchin "cannot imagine anything more worse for the software
business". Withal he equates open source like the free operating system
Linux with music exchange services á la Napster - an argument which immediately has
been intensely offended by the open source community.»

Mekka Symposium 2001 Homepage Online
From today the homepage of the Mekka & Symposium 2001 is online!
The MS is one of the biggest demo parties in Europe and has 1,200 to 1,300
visitors yearly. Among other things there are demo competitions for Amiga, C64, and
PC, and the well known and popular party feeling (who's got big ***** ?).
