First Fast-Z2 card for Z4-board
Jens Schönfeld writes: The first card to support the Fast-Z2 mode of the
new Z4-board, "Buddha Flash Maxxelerate", is available. The adjustable timing has
been removed, so only up-to-date hard disks are supported. The performance is about
80% better than that of a "normal" Buddha Flash. An A1200 with Apollo 68040-25 reaches
almost 3,1 MB per second, which should be roughly the speed achieved by a 060 or PPC
board. I expect a 68030-40 to reach almost 5 MB per second, detailed benchmarks to be
available this week.
If you want your Buddha to be updated, you'll have to send it in. The price
for the update is 18,- Euro plus shipping.

FusionPPC status
Paul Lesurf (Blittersoft) had a long talk with Jim Drew about FusionPPC. The current
status is:
- As previously announced, FusionPPC for Amiga was not
released on November 20th as scheduled.
- FusionPPC development for Amiga is continuing as normal.
- Jim Drew explained that the project is in advanced state
of completion, and everything is done to have a release version ready by christmas.
- Like stated in the prepayment contract, all customers are free to cancel the
contract with Microcode Solutions in writing. The money is transferred back within
30 days after recieving the cancelling note. This was stated clearly on the webpage,
top of the online ordering form.
Paul Lesurf asks people to have patience until FusionPPC for Amiga is released. Jim
and Joe are working hard to present an excellent package for PPC Amiga, and due to
Paul Lesurf, it will be worth the waiting.
