Background: cURL continues to support AmiSSL
Daniel Stenberg, initiator and main developer of cURL, a command line tool for transferring data with URLs, reported in a recent blog post that the cURL project has a long tradition of supporting a number of different third-party libraries: by May 2025, thirteen different TLS libraries were supported.

Image editor: PyDPainter 2.2.0 for Windows, macOS and Linux (update)
The image editor PyDPainter is inspired by DPaint and according to its author Mark Riale an attempt to create a usable pixel art program in Python using PyGame that can handle low resolutions and limited colour palettes and which can be as easy to use as possible (amiga-news.de reported). Version 2.2.0 introduces Brush Trails for brush rotation and scaling (video) and offers an improved macOS support, clipboard paste in text tool and and tutorials. Changes:

Preview video: Breakout clone Freak-Out
Michael Kafke already presented a preview version of his breakout clone "Freak-Out" at the Amiga Ruhrpott Convention (ARC) in Germany in 2023 (amiga-news.de reported). Now he shows in a new preview video the current state of his game, which is to run on an Amiga 500 and should offer 100 levels, 64-colour background graphics and a convenient level editor. He hopes to release the game on the Amiga40 in autumn 2025.
