Hyperion Entertainment: AmigaOS 3.1.4 released
As reported, Thomas 'Thor' Richter and Olaf 'Olsen' Barthel have been working on an update of Commodore's AmigaOS 3.1. Today it has been released - please find below Hyperion Entertainment's official press release:

MorphOS: AppLauncher.sbar 1.1
Thomas Igracki's screenbar module for Ambient's AppLauncher (screenshot) makes it possible to "start any application from every (public) screen without the need
to switch to the Ambient screen or remember hotkeys". And the author also wrote: "This screenbar module opens a popup menu if you click on the butterfly symbol in your screenbar. There you can select the application you want to start!"

Event: Saku 2018 on September 22nd in Oulu (Finland)
Press release: "Finnish Amiga Users Group holds its 11th Saku event in Oulu, Finland on Saturday, September 22nd. The event will feature many classic Amiga setups from Amiga 500 to Amiga 4000, FPGA computers like Minimig and MIST, and next generation systems from MorphOS machines to AmigaOne X5000.
The Commodore Story documentary film will be shown on a big screen, and there will be a presentation about AmiKit X emulation package. One lucky visitor will also win a free copy of AmiKit X.

The PDF magazine REV'n'GE ("Retro Emulator Vision and Game") is available in Italian as well as in an English-language translation. REV'n'GE compares and reviews games on vintage computers.

Web browser: NetSurf 3.8 (SDL version)
About two weeks ago Artur Jarosik as released an update of his Amiga port of the web browser NetSurf. His port is based on SDL, only the preferences pane is based on MUI, and is not to be confused with the Chris Young's native, Reaction-based version.
Notice of the editorial: The AGA version 3.8 does not run on the Amiga 1200 equippd with Blizzard-1230 accelerator board of our editor Daniel Reimann - it crashes with Guru-Meditation (80000008). According to the developer the M68060-compiler-switch he did use is not compatible with a 68030 processor with 68881-FPU. Besides, the auto update for the AGA version is broken and therefore has to be downloaded from the title link.

MorphOS: E-Mail client Iris, beta version 38
Jacek 'jacadcaps' Piszczek's "Iris" is supposed to become the standard mail program for MorphOS. It supports IMAP and can read and create HTML mails. The program requires MorphOS 3.10. You can give feedback to the author using the corresponding discussion on Morphzone.

MorphOS: Source code of Photo-CD-MUI class released
Under the title link Carsten Siegner has released the source code of his PCD-MUI class which shows files of Kodak-Photo-CDs. He hopes that this MUI class also will be compiled for AmigaOS, AmigaOS 4 and AROS.

Chip-RAM extension: ACE2 by Individual Computers
For a few weeks Individual Computers has been offering "ACE2". This extension adds two Megabyte Chip-Ram to most of the OCS/ECS-Amiga. Because the board contains two components which are not available any more - the 2MB ECS-Agnus-Chip and a PLCC84 adapter socket - the producer has chosen a "progressive pricing model": The lower the availability of ACE2 the more the price increases. The first price was 120 Euro meanwhile it costs about 130 Euro. The maximum price will be 170 Euro.

Connecting old joysticks to the PC: Arananet Joystick adapter
The Spanish shop Arananet offers an adapter which connects a retro joystick to an USB port of a common PC. No additional drivers are needed because the adapter registers to the host PC as simple USB device. Autofire is supported (if your joysticks allow it). A Spanish review of the adapter you can find on "Commodore Spain".
