Platform game: Goatlizard DX
Goatlizard DX is a reworked version of The Incredible Adventures of Moebius Goatlizard which was written in assembler. The update adds music during the game, provides an improved two player mode and a level editor. Besides, more enemies are in the game.
Goatlizard DX should run on most of the Amiga configurations, but the author recommends a 68020-CPU. The game is not compatible to 68010-processors.

Hollywood / Cubic IDE: hw4cubic 5.3
Andreas Falkenhahn writes: Michael 'Clyde Radcliffe' Jurisch's Hollywood add-on for Cubic IDE has been updated to support the full Hollywood 5.3 command set now. Furthermore, there have been some bug fixes and optimizations.
The hw4cubic plugin allows you to use Cubic IDE as an IDE for Hollywood. The complete Hollywood command set is imported into Cubic IDE so you'll get syntax highlighting, quick command information, hotkey links to the documentation for command under cursor, function list, direct access to the compiler, auto complete and intellisense functionality and much more.
In addition, a Hollywood 5.3 wordfile for the popular Windows text editor UltraEdit is now also available for download on the official Hollywood portal. This wordfile allows you to conveniently edit Hollywood scripts on Windows using UltraEdit. All downloads are available from the official Hollywood portal at the title link. (snx)

Game development: "Chaos Guns"-project needs new programmer
Recently a playable demo of the multiplayer coop-shooter "Chaos Guns" was released - now the developers have informed that the only programmer left and a new one is needed.
Chaos Guns is written in PowerD which is a very obscure further development of Amiga E which obciously is very similar to it. Therefore it is necessary to write the engine of the game right from the beginning or to translate the 10.000 lines of the PowerD source code into regular Amiga E and then to work in this language.

Apollo-Core: Photograph of Phoenix prototype (Update)
Under the title link the developers of the Apollo-Core, which also is tested in the Vampire-600 accelerator board (amiga-news.de reported), have published a photograph of Rev. A of the Apollo-Phoenix-board.
Probably in the third quarter of this year this extension for existing systems with a 68000-processor will be available. It is put on the mainboard and is supposed to provide a higher speed and complete code-compatibility.
Additional to the Cyclone-V-FPGA, the Phoenix-board has 128 MB (DDR3, 800 MHz). The operating system can be copied into the RAM using the corresponding MapROM-functions. Further features are a SD-card as IDE-harddrive, HDMI video output (Truecolor) and a network port.
In Future an included flickerfixer/scandoubler (to connect an Amiga to a HDMI-TV), a Chip-RAM-extension and an AGA- (and later Super-AGA-) extension as well as Picasso96-drivers will be added.

AmigaOS 4 / AROS: PictureAlbum r1
After the "preview"-version (amiga-news.de reported), now version 1 of PictureAlbum written by Christopher Handley is available. By fixing a bug in PortablE the memory consumption of the graphic boards was lowered. The included MorphOS version creates buggy thumbnails. The author would be grateful for every hint which could solve the problem.
PictureAlbum can search picture directories which then are presented as thumbnails. By double-clicking the pictures can be viewed (screenshot). The programm saves the position of each opened picture of a directory.

New games: "Flappy Bird" and "Donkey Downfall"
Last weekend in Norwegian Solskogen, the eleventh scene party took place. In the "Wild"-competition two little games were released:
Flappy Bird is a port of the well-known Smartphone game. In Donkey Downfall (Youtube-video) you have to jump down platforms as fast as possible with a gorilla - a donkey does not appear in the game. The game requires 1 MB Chip-RAM.

AROS: 68k-Distribution AROS Vision 2.7
Olaf Schönweiß has released version 2.7 of the AROS/68k-distribution AROS Vision which among others has updated ROM-files.
Changes:
- ROMs updated
- MUI Royale updated
- IBrowse optimized (recommendations for SSL included)
- Simplemail now english by default
- Digibooster Demo added
- Audio software added (new Trackers)
- Filetypes added or improved (f.e. new filetypes for PowerD and Amiga-E sources)
- On AMOS (menu prefs) you can change between Intuition and Game extension (both use same slot)

MorphOS: GenesisPlus 1.7
GenesisPlus emulates the Sega-consoles Mega Drive, Sega CD, Master System and Game Gear.
Version 1.7 only shows ROM-files with a valid type (.cue|.bin|.smd|.sms|.gg), automatically sets the audio and video timing using the version of the ROM (PAL or NTSC) and offers preview pictures in the startup window as well as in the savestate manager.

AppStore: First screenshots of "AMIStore"
In October, the British trader Amigakit announced an "AppStore" called "AMIStore". The address amistore.net now is available, but without any functions. On amiga.org now some screenshots of the AmigaOS application have been published which later will be used for searching and purchasing software in the store.

AmigaOS 3: SSL-connection to 1&1, GMX, web.de might fail
According to Jens 'damato' Maus (YAM-Team) in the Amiga-News-forum, currently problems could occur if YAM or SimpleMail are trying to establish a SSL-connection to the mail servers of 1&1, GMX or web.de.
Some weeks ago, the configuration of the mail servers have been changed: The mail programms have only little time (few seconds) to establish a SSL-connection. For computer systems which are buzy or slow - like real Amiga hardware - the time could be not long enough and the connections cannot be established.
According to Jens Maus, an update for AmiSSL is being developed which is supposed to speed up the initialization of SSL-connections.

Project: Graphic board as partly equipped platine for A500 and Zorro-slot
Currently Amiga-user Matthias "Matze" Heinrichs is reworking the design of a clone of a 20 years old graphic board Picasso II+ developed by Georg Braun. The final product is supposed to be working in a Zorro-Slot as well as (after removing a part of the connector block) in the expansion port of an Amiga 500:
In order to to be suitable with different cases, the VGA-port is on a separate platine which is connected with the graphic board by cable. This second platine also also can be connected with the Scandoubler Indivision. An integrated switcher automatically provides the required signal (graphic board or Indivision) to the VGA-port.
Heinrichs is going to sell the board as partly equipped construction kit: RAM-chips, VGA-chip, video switcher and the CPLD have been already soldered up. The other parts (resistors, condensers, wired parts) the user has to assemble by himself.
Currently it is not possible to say when the board will be available. Due to the sale as construction kit, a private sale without a trade intermediary is possible. Currently the CPLD is programmed: Autoconfig is largely implemented, according to Heinrichs programming the memory/IO-statemachine and the monitor switcher is still missing.
For the moment the well-known Picasso driver of the Picasso96 distribution can be used. It is planned to adapt this RTG-system, which currently requires at least a 68020-processor, to the 68000: the planned accelerator board Zeus contains a 50 Mhz 68000 which would be fast enough to supply the graphic board with data.

Software-News: MPlayer-GUI 1.52, BackUp 1.80
Daniel 'Deniil' Westerberg has released updates for two of his tools. MPlayer-GUI 1.52 includes new graphics, support for sb600*-CD/DVD-devices and fixes a bug in the full screen mode of the control panel.
Changes in BackUp 1.80:
- Fixed crash when copying 2GB+ files.
- Added a menu item: "Target is FAT file system". Use this when backing up to a partition with FAT file system to prevent BackUp from copying existing files over and over. The reason is that FAT can only store even seconds (0,2,4,6,..) in the file timestamp so it will not match the Amiga file timestamp.
- Also added auto-detection of FAT file system when doing an incremental backup.
- Added a synchronize mode. When clicking Clean first you will be asked if it should automatically backup when finished. Saves you some time when synchronizing backups.
- BackUp will automatically skip the ".recycled" dir when present in the root of a SFS/2 or JXFS partition. No need to manually put it in the skiplist anymore.
- Fixed size calculation for big files (2-4GB). Files over 4GB will be correctly copied and calculated, except in test mode. The "N bytes extra space was needed" may be wrong with 4GB+ files.
- Made it possible to select files over 2GB for the skiplist

New USB-adapters for keyboards, mouse and joystick announced
In Poland, obviously two new adapters are developed, which can connect an USB mouse and joystick (Youtube-Video) or keyboards (Youtube-Video) with an Amiga. The adapters emulate the original hardware, which does not require any kind of software or driver installation.
So far, there is little information about the adapters, only available in Polish (thread at ppa.pl about the keyboard-adapter). The final devices are supposed to be commercially sold.

Evenmore 0.81-7.7.14 (AmigaOS 3/4, MorphOS)
EvenMore is a text viewer written with ECX in Amiga E and by Chris Perver. Changes in the latest version:
- Ffinally cracked the AmigaWriter fileformat. Colours, text align and most styles are supported.
- WordPerfect plugin will now recognize right and centre aligned text.
- StarWriter5 plugin will now handle strikethrough text.
- Fixed bug in Wordwrap plugin and clipboard, which meant that an extra character was being copied to the clipboard at the end of each line.
- WordWorth, FinalWriter, ProWrite, RTF and Pagestream plugins will now recognize the right and centre aligned text.
- Added a new Escape code. ESC[66m will centre text which follows it.
- Added a new Escape code. ESC[65m will undo right and centre text.
- Updated HTML plugin to recognize right and centre alignment in p and h1-6 and center.
- Fixed bug. Was unnecessarily setting the font soft style of the rastport while parsing lines.
- Sped up line display a bit. Added an extra IF block, thus removing the need for checking all font styles every time a line is displayed.
- Added a new Escape code. ESC[64m will right align text which follows it.
- Updated Dir2Text plugin so that file sizes will be displayed and right aligned using the new escape code.
