Progress report: Difficulties in porting Opus Magellan
In a blog entry, Roman 'kas1e' Kargin reported about the difficulties, a team of AmigaOS-, MorphOS- and AROS-developers had to overcome to get rid of the m68k and AmigaOS 3 dependences in the source codes of Directory Opus Magellan and then to be able to port them to modern Amiga-systems.

Game launcher: X-bEnCH 0.91 beta 3
X-bEnCH (Youtube-Video of version 0.8) is a graphical user-interface with up to 128 colours which can be used for starting WHDLoad games (.slave, .exe) and for this purpose can replace the Workbench. From now on, X-bEnCH is "donationware". The unregistered version asks you to register after the programm was started.

Elbox: Driver update for FastATA-1200-Controller (MK-III, MK-IV)
Elbox has updated its FastATA'99-driver for the FastATA-1200-controllers MK-III and MK-IV. Under the title link the versions 9.4a-3.8, 10.3a-3.8 and 11.2a-3.8

Programming competition: Seven Amiga-Remakes of 8-Bit-games
In Poland at the end of October the event Retrokomp/Load Error 2013 will take place which will also will organize an programming competition of the best retro-games.
Obviously the games have been already released for they are available on the website of the organizer:

MorphOS 3.3 - Public Release
Press release: The MorphOS development team is proud to announce the public release of MorphOS 3.3, which includes various bug fixes and other improvements. For an overview of the included changes, please read our release notes.
We strongly urge new users to carefully read our installation and troubleshooting guides before they attempt to install MorphOS for the first time. Existing users can upgrade via the familiar procedure but are encouraged to read the guides as well. MorphOS 3.3 is available for download in our files section.

Network configuration: EasyNet 0.177
With its user-interface, EasyNet simplifies the network configuration. AmigaKit adds the program to different network hardware like the X-Surf 100 but it can be also purchased separately. The program is updated via the live-update-function.
Changes:
- Wireless Network Scanning (prism2 v2.5 driver required)
- Network device querying - EasyNet reports network card's MAC address
- Added support for two new network devices: x-Surf-100.device and plipbox.device
- New settings configuration for the X-Surf 100 network card

X-Surf 100: New, faster driver for AmiTCP/Genesis
Today version 1.11 of the x-surf-100.device has been released which provides special "turbo"-versions for AmiTCP-/Genesis-users. Previously Genesis-users reported transfer rates which were identical to an Usb2Ethernet-connection with Deneb.

The most important changes in version 0.91 alpha:
- Now with up to 272 colors on AGA (128 with OCS/ECS)
- New .mod replay routine that's now perfectly working
- CDMode to create your own CD32/CDTV compilations
- Enhanced display on ECS/OCS
- New 68060 recognition routine
- You can now setup the RTC in the setup panel
- New shortcuts (F1-F6) to access your 6 launching lists
- New colorful loading bar on init
- Double redraw bug fixed in the setup
- X-bEnCh.guide now up to date

MorphOS: Word processor Scriba 1.9.7
Scriba is a text processing software developed by Carsten Siegner which is still in development. New in version 1.9.7:
- Tables can be loaded and saved as XML-files
- Tables can be loaded via the Shell (z.B. Scriba test.xml) into the table editor and then are displayed
- Drag/drop of tables into the main window or in the window of the table editor, which then are displayed
- the table editor can also handle Unicode (example chart: Table_3.lha, PDF-version), the Truetype-chartset "Arial Unicode MS" is required.
