YouTube: Video "Space Wars" by Tobias Richter (1992)
YouTube user Kenzoid27 has digitized the animation "Space Wars" from the year 1992 from a VHS cassette, slightly reworked it and made it open to the general public under the title link, in order to bring back memories and to highlight what was already possible on the Amiga at that time.
The video by Tobias J. Richter (Story, Modeling, Animation), Carsten Fuchs (Program) Bjørn A. Lynne (Music) and Frank Brehme (Editor) was generated on two Amiga 2000's and three Amiga 3000's using the programs Reflections 2.0, Videoscape 2.0, Deluxe Paint IV, Scala as well as Music X and was recorded directly. AmigaOS 4: Origyn Web Browser 1.13
Jörg Strohmayer has published an update of the Origyn Web Browser. Further components are now used as so called shared objects.
Changes:
- Fixed OWB bug 178 (fonts related endless loops) in the AmigaOS4 fonts implementation
- If loading a page failed the progress bar is set to 0 now
- Added tooltype DISABLEGIFANIMS, if it's set the anims are still played once since usually the last image is better than the first
- Added tooltype DISABLEJAVASCRIPT
- Using shared libcurl, libssl, libxml2, libxslt and libz now, you have to download sobjs.lha, extract it and and copy them to SOBJS:. Not required if you use AmiUpdate to update OWB, the new shared objects are installed automatically
- The shared libcurl uses DEVS:curl-ca-bundle.crt instead of S:curl-ca-bundle.crt (since it's not a script using S: was wrong)
- Mounting RANDOM: is not required any more
Download:
OWB.lha (2,8 MB)
sobjs.lha (1,8 MB)

AmigaOS 4: FTP-Client PFTP 0.2 (update)
PFTP (screen shot) by Peter Gordon offers unlimited
windows, server-to-server transfers and drag'n drop support. Changes in version 0.2:
- Now copes with multi-line responses that don't
start every line with a code and a dash. Thanks
to James Carroll for the report.
- Fixed a DSI that could occasionally happen during
FTP to FTP transfers
- Properly copes with 125 responses for the LIST
command. Thanks to Dwayne Jarvis for the report.
- Now updates CPS information for active transfers
even when they stall.
- When warning you about potentially overwriting
a local file, it gives you the current stats
about the existing files size and date rather
than the ones in the local browser, in case they
have changed in the meantime.
- When sending a local file, it rechecks the local
files length before starting the transfer instead
of relying on the possibly stale value in the
local browser window.
- Properly copes with servers that don't put a
leading zero in the hours column. Thanks to
Dwayne Jarvis for his help nailing this one.
- Reordered the transfer queue columns so that the
basic information is all to the left and the
source/destination directories are at the far
end (file,%,cps,srcdir,destdir instead of
srcdir/file,destdir,%,cps).
- You can now specify the path to the ssh
executable if you don't wish to keep it in the
system searchpath. Simply specify the path where
ssh resides in a "SSHPATH" tooltype. Sorry I
can't remember who suggested this.
- You can now specify a local path to go to when
you connect to a server (see docs).
- Transfers in the queue now have a fancy progress
bar behind the percentage readout.
- Passwords are now encrypted in the .servers file.
Old .server files with plaintext passwords will
be automatically converted when you quit PFTP
or connect to a server.
Update: (21.02.2008, 16:00, cg)
Meanwhile an improved version is available where one minor bug (requesting drive "Blah:") has been removed. (cg) (Translation: ub)
