Keys 10/99: Synthesizer Elektron SidStation
Good news for C64 fans: In the music magazine Keys issue 10/99, there is a several page long article about the new synthesizer Elektron SidStation, based on the C64 soundchip SID.
Short info:
Concept: 3 voice synthesizer with SID chip
Technical: 3voice (poly mode) / monophone (single mode) sound synthesizing; voice architecture: 3 oszilators, syric, ring modulation, wavetable, multi-mode filer, [...] 4 LFOs; arpeggiato; 100 registers, conectors: Mono-Out, ext. audio In; MIDI-In/-Out/-Thru, ext. power supply (6V).
Distributed by Elektron, Göteborg, Sweden, price including shiping about 625 Euro.
Oh my, when it comes to audio technobabble, I am pretty lost. I hope I didn't make too many mistakes... (mb) (ps)

All the Web - fastest search engine
With "All the Web", a super-fast search engine has gone online that really shows results unbelievably quick. Take, for example, the keyword "Amiga": In only 0.003 seconds, 256564 entries are found! That's close to magic for me :-). Not so good, however, is the sorting of the found websites; e.g. amiga.de was not listed among the first 100 entries... the super-fast locating of sites is of little use if the most important sites are listed among "others"... (ps)

IMP Project News
IMP news again: Now we 're cooperating with the AROS team to ensure IMP not becoming a "LINUX Distribution with UAE" ,as some people said before, but a system with a real "AMIGA Feeling".
More important is the open source thought behind the project. In the meantime we contacted Fleecy Moss and the Phoenix Consortium. Whereas Fleecy supports our engagement, the answer from the Phoenix Consortium is still overdue. We 're not against Phoenix and we 're happy about every alternative to the "future plans" of Amiga that's capable of being spread. So our LINUX choice as developing envoirement is not final in anyway, its just a base to start the multi-platform developement.
More informations with the titlelink. (ps)

Tornado-News From The Mailinglist
Sample from a mail, written by Massimiliano Marras, Eyelight founder and sole owner:
Just to clarify: there are no plans to drop Amiga development. Tornado3D is an Amiga product and will stay Amiga and Three-Oh will be released and I hope it will please (most) everybody. And there will for sure a 4.0 version next year. Those are official statements. Rest assured that present and future loyal T3D users will NOT be left out in the cold. (ps)
