Board for using a Meanwell RT50-B in power supply housing of the Amiga 600
Under the title link Dave Poo has published a board created with KiCAD, which makes it possible to put a power supply housing of the Meanwell-RT50-B into an Amiga 600. Using the board for the power supply housing of the Amiga 1200 is considered possible but has not been tested.

Self-made project: Memory expansion Minimal A501
The self-made project "Minimal A501" is another memory expansion. The gerber files can be found on GitHub. With Jonni Rainisto's memory expansion you can add 512 KB RAM to the Amiga 500(+) in a cost-effective way.

AmigaOS 4: Claws-Mail 3.9.2 Release 2 for AmiCygnix
For his Unix environment AmiCygnix for AmigaOS 4, Edgar Schwan has released an update of the GTK+-based e-Mail program "Claws-Mail" (screenshot).
Changes:
- The program was linked with GTK+ 2.24.32. As a result, drag and drop now works among other things. Mails can now be moved with the mouse and much more.
- The program was linked with GnuTLS 3.6.13. Problems with SSL/TLS connections should now be resolved.
- Mail addresses and personal data can now be determined using LDAP. For this Claws-Mail was linked with openldap 2.4.49 (screenshot).
- New release 5 of the Python package v2.7.2 with GTK+ 2.24.32.
- The included Aspell catalogs in German and English for spell checking have been updated.
- Successfully tested with gmail.
Features of Claws-Mail:
- Support of vCalendar messages
- Receiving RSS-Newsfeeds
- Saving messages/accounts in packed achives
- spam filter with learning abilities (bogofilter)
- Printing
- spell checking. Uses the Aspell dictionaries created for AbiWord.

WHDLoad: New packages until 15.08.2020
Using WHDLoad, games, scene demos and intros by cracking groups, which were originally designed to run only from floppy disks, can be installed on harddisk. The following installers have been added until 15.08.2020:

AmigaOS4: Chat software Pidgin 2.13.0 for AmiCygnix
Edgar Schwan has updated the port of the universal chat software Pidgin to his X11 environment AmiCygnix. Version 2.13.0 (screenshot) provides the following changes:
- New protocols for Discord, Facebook, Skype and Twitter.
- The program was linked with GTK+ 2.24.32. As a result, drag and drop now works among other things.
- The program was linked with GnuTLS 3.6.13. Problems with SSL/TLS connections should now be resolved.
- Updated Aspell catalogs in German and English for spell checking.
- Various bug fixes.

Mailbox net: C=Net for all Commodore computers
The SysOp of the "Reign of Fire" mailbox has announced on amiga.org a new mailbox net based on FidoNet technology, addressed to users of Commodore-8-Bit computers and Amigas. An "Infopack" can be downloaded in its (Telnet-) mailbox. It is not known if other boxes also participate in C=Net.

Preview video: A platform game with a footballer
Third_Knight / Czorny currently is working on a different kind of platform game: The player has to kick several bonus items or switcher with a football and then shoot it in a hole. A preview video shows the latest status of the engine. The game which has not a name yet will be created using the construction kit RedPill.

Tiny Bobble - a complete new "Bubble Bobble" (beta)
Tiny Bobble (video) is being written by the developers of Tiny Invaders and Tiny Galaga and is supposed to become a "complete new Bubble Bobble arcade port for Amiga 500" instead of porting the Atari ST version to the Amiga done for the existing commercial version of the Amiga.
In contrast to the existing port of Bubble-Bobble, Tiny Bobble will have the following features:
- 50 fps (instead of 25fps)
- 32 colors (instead of 16)
- 150 items (instead of 40?)
- Original screen height of 224 pixel (was only 200 pixel)
- Almost all sprite animations (had only ~20% of animations)
- Progress Screen (was not available), Big Enemies every 16th level (was not available), Player Two Join animation (was not available)
- Single file (needed a disk)
- Animated Extend screen (was not animated)
- Animated Boss fight (was a still image)
- Multiple endings (had only one ending)
The beta version which was now released is complete but might include bugs. The author has pointed out that during high activity or in the two player mode on an Amiga 500 maybe the game slows down. (cg) (Translation: dr)

Reprint: The story of the Commodore Amiga in Pixels
Three years ago Chris Wilkins published the book "The story of the Commodore Amiga in Pixels" based on a crowdfunding campaign (amiga-news.de reported). Since one year and a half the book is sold out, therefore the book is supposed to be reprinted.
Under the title link meanwhile this project was successfully financed. Additionally the book also can be purchased as PDF file.

Apollo team launched AROS-based operating system project
First the developer team of the Apollo-FPGA-Core used in the Vampire products did choose AROS as official operating system. After having had some problems with the free AmigaOS clone, the Kickstart-ROMs officially licenced from Cloanto were used. From around Apollo is also the Workbench distribution Coffin OS which includes illegal copies.
Obviously they now are going to tackle the problem at source: In a Activity Report it is told that on Github a Fork of AROS has been established - their "goal is to improve AROS 68k support and level up its compatibility with AmigaOS3 to the best state possible".
A logo already has been published on Github which also tells the name of the new fork of AROS: "Apollo OS". The code itself obviously has not been changed a lot although there is a first alpha version of the new system (download site).

The Apollo OS download was hosted by a one-click hoster. Apparently, the number of allowed downloads was limited and the Alpha release of the operating system is no longer available anymore. (cg) (Translation: dr)

Announcement: Tiny Bobble - a better 'Bubble Bobble' port
Tiny Bobble is done by the people who released Tiny Invaders und Tiny Galaga and is an attempt to create a port of the Arcade classic Bubble Bobble that is optimized for the Amiga 500 - instead of just porting the existing Atari ST version, as Firebird did with their commercial 1989 release.
'Tiny Bobble' is said to feature the following improvements over the original
Amiga game:
- 50 fps (instead of 25fps)
