Cloud memory with Amiga access: AmiCloud 2.0
The AmiCloud client for all Amiga systems as well as Windows, Linux and Mac OS X allows the access to a cloud memory without traffic limitation for public contents provided by Pascal Papara.
Version 2.0 of the client written with Hollywood now supports an unlimited number of sub-folders. The list of changes:
- FIX: Sometimes ACManager was not able to connect to AmiCloud, this should be resolved now.
- FIX: Due to an Hollywood bug the local index is now using a temporary fix that mimic the bugged functions, when the bug will be fixed the standard commands will be restored because this fix is a bit slower.
- NEW: Local Index is now smaller, useless data has been removed.
- NEW: Added feedback to the main AmiCLoud window : now when a folder and/or a subfolder is synchronized a message is shown.
- FIX: Fixed a bug that was causing errors when UTF8 characters were used in the filenames.
- NEW: Added a local index cleanup function at the end of the synchronization process to remove useless entries.
- NEW: Nested folders support.
- New core functionalities to handle this new feature in a recursive fashion
- Reworked the sharing window to show the folders structure using a treeview
- Windows & MacOS versions uses system AppData folders to write application data.
- NEW: Server error 403 Forbidden is now handled by the client.
- NEW: Added a information Windows to access quickly related web resources and to check for updates.
- NEW: Added several messages to make it clearer what AmiCloud is doing.
- NEW: Added multiuser support, heach account can have its own shared folder on the same computer.
- FIX: Users can change the shared folder if they need it.
- FIX: When exiting AmiCloud will wait for ACManager to finish its tasks to make it clear when the ACManager is quitted.
Meanwhile AmiCloud can also upload and download files using the browser.

Inofficial AmigaOS website online again
In August 2017 Mathias Münch removed his "inofficial AmigaOS Support Homepage" from the Internet after he was requested by Hyperion to remove some beta versions from the website because they have been licenced by the company. Meanwhile the website is online again - without the said packages.

Cloanto: Amiga Explorer 7 released
Cloanto's Amiga Explorer "makes it possible to access the resources of an Amiga computer from one or more Windows systems". This new version provides "support for additional types of serial devices and ports, including COM port numbers higher than 9". A list of changes you can find under the title link.
The Amiga Explorer is Shareware, updates are available for free. Users of a plus-edition of Amiga Forever already have a licence. The source code of the programs was uploaded to a closed group on GitHub; as soon as the data exchange program will be finished, the source code will be released.

Microsoft acquired Github from founder Chris Wanstrath
Microsoft has acquired the developer platform Github for 7,5 Milliarden US Dollar Microsoft stock. "Microsoft Corporate Vice President Nat Friedman, founder of Xamarin and an open source veteran, will assume the role of GitHub CEO." Github will continue being open for other operating systems than Windows. Currently over 28 millions users use the platform. In the Github repository several Amiga specific developments are hosted as well.

The British dealer AmigaKit already had registered several trademarks with reference to Amiga in Great Britain (amiga-news.de reported). Now the trademark "A1200" was registered, too. In contrast, the application for registration of "SCSI2SD" was withdrawn.

Game: Full version of Mini Swat available
Andreas Rösner wrote: Three months ago a demo version of "Mini Swat" was uploaded to the Aminet. According to the developer duo of 'Amiga Wave', now the full version is available. The game was developed by José A. 'Jojo073' Gonzáles and Zoltar Estrayk. They also wrote the games "Brus Li" and "Else we get mad!".
Again the game was written with Backbone. The programs Deluxe Paint and ProTracker were also used. Compared with most of the Backbone games, "Mini Swat" is not a simple jump'n'run but a top-down-shooter like "Crack Down".
The game requires an Amiga equipped with ECS/OCS and 1 MB RAM. Interested players will get "Mini Swat" by e-mail for free from the developers using amigawave@gmail.com. On YouTube you can watch a video.

amiga-news.de: long-dated login enabled again
Two weeks ago amiga-news.de started using a common login for the comment section and forum - afterwards the login only worked as long as the browser session persisted. Now a login again is valid for 15 days and is automatically renewed for another 15 days if the user visits amiga-news.de during this period.

Game: Official update for Worms DC announced (update)

Bei Worms DC is the successor of the initial version of Worms. Compared to it the game already uses the AGA chipset of the Amiga 1200 and 4000. Until today the game and its successors are very popular.
Worms DC offered a variety of opportunities of modding which meant much more than only creating new levels. This develops into a kind of popular sport among Amiga users and therefore many years after the release of the game new levels and extensions have been released by users.

amiga-news.de reader Mario Cattaneo has collected the information about the project available on facebook and supplied it to us. The developer is answering a few users' questions over there, and posted two screenshots aswell as a photo of his development machine:

want as many people who still love the Amiga to be able to enjoy it as

Will the unimplemented CD-ROM feature
that plays the FMV sequence from the MS-DOS, PlayStation and CD32
versions of Worms be included with this release?
Andy Davidson: I will look into it after I’ve got the game options done, but this
is something of a memory test! It’s sort of like riding a bike but scrolling
through the code part of me is amazed I did this in the first place haha
There was a bug on my release copy that meant that options set weren’t
saved properly... most notable after switching on JAMIE AND HIS MAGIC TORCH
or CHORLTON AND THE WHEELIES options ;) I assume they will all save properly
now? ;)
