AROS: September 2016 Highlights
Based on his weekly summaries, under the title link Krzysztof 'deadwood' Śmiechowicz also publishes an article which summarizes the progresses of the operating system AROS for the last month.
So, in September the distribution AEROS was updated to version 4.0.1 for the Raspberry Pi 1/2/3 and Odroid XU3/XU4 as well as the first version released of the an AROS-distribution for the Orange Pi. Paolo Besser's distribution Icaros Desktop was updated to version 2.1.3.
Furthermore, Neil Cafferkey is working on an improved implementation of MUI and Miloslav Martinka added Czech localization to a number of applications as well as implemented localization in Appearance preferences.

AROS: ZuneView 0.28
Yannick Erb has released version 0.28 of his picture viewer named ZuneView for AROS.
Changes:
- Added Polar Effects
- Correct implementation of checkmarks (remove workaround)
- Replaced color picker hack by final implementation (spent some time on a color changing mouse pointer for this one)
- Added possibility to make rotation by defining angle
- Added negative picture effect
- Some code refactoring

Hyperion Entertainment: Bugfix update for Workbench 3.1 (40.43)
For the version 40.43 of the Workbench 3.1 (amiga-news.de reported), which is distributed by Hyperion Entertainment, an update has been released which fixes the following two bugs:
- The Workbench disk image was not bootable
- The installation script could wrongly copy the contents of the Install disk into FONTS:

MorphOS-Team: Price reduction for PowerBook, iBook and PowerMac G5
According to Frank Mariak, member of the MorphOS developer team, in the MorphZone, from today the price for the Licemce of MorphOS for the PowerBook G4, the iBook G4 and for the PowerMac G5 was reduced. There are only two price categories: 49 Euro for the Efika as well as for the Sam460 board and 79 Euro for all other systems.

AmigaOS 4 / MorphOS: Multitheme #1 - New questions for Ask Me Up XXL
Jérôme 'Glames' Senay's Ask Me Up is a "quiz of general knowledge" for AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS (as well as Windows), in which you have to correctly answer 1700 questions, each with four possible answers. You can play it for yourself or together with up to five other players (four players using a joystick, the other two sharing the keyboard).
Now "Multitheme #1" can be purchased for ¤3,99 and is an add-on with 400 new questions. It is available in English, Spanish and French. It requires at least the 2.4.3 (CD) release of Ask Me Up XXL, but the latest version 2.6.0 is recommended. As examples, the following three questions are mentioned: "What is the emblem of the Stark family?", "When was Space Invaders released?" and "How many genes do humans and sea urchin have in common?".

Printed magazine: Amiga Future 123 - preview and extracts

ACube: Firmware update for Sam 440ep
ACube Systems has released a firmware update for his PPC-motherboards "Sam 440ep": The Mini-ITX as well as the Flex versions are supported. Mainly the changes are supposed to improve the compatibility with Radeon-HD graphic boards:
- improved gfx cards setup, it solves compatibility problems with some Radeon HD cards
- better internal PCI bridge setup for a slight faster RAM <-> VRAM transfer speed
- added PEX 8112 PCI – PCIE bridge setup (used on some Radeon HD PCI variant cards)
- added a new menu entry to enable/disable IRQ on an external PCI gfx card (try disabling IRQ if the system seems freezed after loading the AOS4.1 kickstart files, for example)
The update and the source codes can be downloaded at ACube. Both update methods - ISO-image or TFTP - are descibed in the "Installation Guide".

AmigaOS 4: Comic reader Comicami 0.53
Comicami is a light comic reader for AmigaOS 4, supporting the .cbr and .cbz comic book formats. It is designed to be simple in usage and as fast as possible, without consuming too much memory. In case of issues or if you want to propose a feature, there is a bugtracker as well.

Web-Browser: NetSurf 3.6 Dev 68k (SDL-Version)
Artur Jarosik has released an update of his Amiga port of the web browser NetSurf. His version is based on SDL, only the preferences are based on MUI, and should be not confused with Chris Young's Reaction-based version (review).
The latest developer version provides an improved YouTube playback (Video) as well as an auto-conversion to mpeg 1 video.

Jump'n'Run game: Projekt Lila Remastered is delievered
The remastered version of "Projekt Lila", which now also works on an Amiga CD³², currently is being delivered to all customers as CD with booklet. Future purchasers of the game will get two CDs (the old and the new one) as well as the booklet. The download archiv has been updated as well.

AROS: ZuneView 0.27
Yannick Erb has ported version 0.27 of the picture viewer ZuneView to AROS.
Since our last message, ZuneView now can use catalogs (French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish and Czech) - but these were created by using the Google translation, so handmade translations are very welcome.

Elbox: FastATA 4000 MK-VII CF/SATA Black Edition
Elbox has announced the production of a "limited edition" of the IDE-controller FastATA 4000 MK-VII, which from now on can be ordered in the Elbox shop. Because the producer has called it a "Black Edition", the board is black, similar to the versions of the PCI-busboards.

The new versions, which have have been re-built from the original source code, include a number of enhancements and bug fixes and are fully compatible with both real Amiga hardware and Classic Amiga emulation software.

Workbench 3.1 (v40.43) update for Amiga desktops

The Workbench 3.1 (v40.43) images can be written to real Amiga floppy diskettes or used in Amiga emulation software. The changes include:
- Compatibility with A4000T
- Installer fixed to use proper assigns which allows installation from other media in addition to the 6 floppy disk set
- Special BONUS - Workbench 3.1 (v40.43) is supplied with a FREE updated licensed copy of Workbench 1.3.3 which incorporates the following changes:
- C/SetClock v34.3 by Olaf Barthel, which fixes Y2K issues and also works on newer Kickstart versions. (Note: the old SetClock command has been renamed and left on disk for reference purposes)
- Deactivated "FF" program in Startup-Sequence to prevent problems on 68020/030 processors
Kickstart 3.1 (40.72) update for Amiga desktops

The Kickstart 3.1 (40.72) image is the first test release and can written to EEPROM chips for use in real Amiga computers or used with Amiga emulation software. It contains the following new components:
- exec.library 40.12
- Updated copyright information text
- Fixed a small bug in the memory pools code which mirrors the same bug fix in the same code that was used in amiga.lib.
- strap 40.3
- Added the Boingball logo which replaces the rainbow-coloured checkmark logo. Slightly brighter background colour.
- workbench.library 40.6
- Rebuilt with SAS/C 6.59 to free up more ROM space because the copyright text in the updated exec.library. No other functional changes.
- scsi.device 40.21 for A600
- Small bug fix to the IDE task initialization making is compatible with the A600. (Note: older Kickstart ROMs used scsi.device version 39, because unlike version 40, it did not crash on the A600)
- scsi.device 40.21 for A1200
- Same binary as used for the A600
- Special BONUS - Kickstart 3.1 (v40.72) is supplied with a FREE licensed copy of Kickstart 1.3

AmigaOne X5000 can be purchased in several webshops
During the whole time of production, the predecessor model of the X1000 was only available in few shops and could not be purchased in well-known webshops. For the X5000 it is diferent: On Saturday Trevor Dickinson announced the official sales launch, and now X5000 complete systems are available in different (web)shops.

Workbench distribution: AKReal 8.7
AKReal is an inofficial adaption of the Workbench distribution Amikit to real Amigas without a graphic board. The whole environment works with 16 colours and is meant for AGA-Amigas.
