Computer Collection Vienna: Videos of CDTV-CR
On the YouTube channel of the "Computer Collection Vienna" new videos of the rather unknown and seldom (less than ten pieces out of 64 are still preserved) CDTV-CR (S/N #55) are available.
Further information, pictures and videos as well as a documentation of the system will be added as soon as possible. Additional to many changes, the display was explicitly improved. The system only contains the used custom-ICs "BEAUTY" and "GRACE" as well as CD-interface similar to the CD³² (with Sony-KSS-210A-Laser).
PCMCIA-boards do not fit into the slot. The Boot ROM has v3.3 (the CDTV has v1.0 and just like the A570 v2.30). According to the developers it is said: 'The ROMs are definitely different! Some of the differences are the 4510 code for the front panel buttons and displays, and the CD controllers are all completely different as well as the 68000 code to interface to the 4510 subsystem.'"

Tables presentation: ArtBase 1.0 (for all Amiga systems)
ArtBase developed with Hollywood and MUI Royale, "transform your "dry" tables into an audiovisual experience." Mainly it is meant for collectors which manage their games lists with a spreadsheet or database. ArtBase imports those lists in CSV-format and does edit them. There are several templates for the design.
Ports of ArtBase for all Amiga systems are available. The use of the 68k-version it is only recommended together with powerful emulators.

Web-application: Amiga PCB Explorer
The "Amiga PCB Explorer" written by Christian "Scrat" Euler is supposed to support do-it-yourselfer repairing Amiga mainboards. Among others with this tool you are able to:
- Look up signal paths where physical traces have been damaged by battery acid or capacitor leakage
- Find out which components are connected to the same signal net
- Get a quick overview on chip pinouts
- Locate any part on the PCB
- Navigate around the PCB and marvel at its beauty
The author wrote: "Right now, the only available mainboard is the A4000 Desktop PCB (Rev B). Support for more boards may be added later."

Amiga Reloaded: Information about planned Amiga-clone
On the "Amiga: 30 Years", Jens Schönfeld had announced that he is developing a Amiga-motherboard named "Amiga Reloaded". Meanwhile some more information are available in the Wiki of Individual Computers. We have summarized the essentials:
- first prototype in Q1/2016
- The target price of the main board with AGA chips is under 200,- EUR
- keyboard case will be a A500 case, second target will be the A1200 case
- Amiga Reloaded is an AGA Amiga using the original chips Alice, Lisa and Paula, along with two CIA chips, equipped with 2MByte Chipram
- The Amiga Reloaded will not have any CPU but has an A1200-compatible CPU slot; assurance that ACA12xx cards work (except for the old ACA1230 type), and we'll also do our best to make the popular Blizzard cards work. However, there will be no product support for operation with non-iComp branded CPU cards.
- only one monitor output as standard: A black&white composite output for monitors that are compatible with PAL and/or NTSC video timing; one out of two choices for colour output has to be installed: 15kHz RGB output board or Flickerfixer output board
- Two CF-card slots will be available as mass storage
- Network and USB can be added by extensions of Individual Computers (RapidRoad USB or ACA500-compatible network-module), a PCMCIA-port is not available
- Other ports: Audio (3.5mm stereo jack), floppy disk (compatible with PC and Amiga disk drives), keyboard (Amiga 500 or 1200, selecting with a jumper), parallel, serial, Mouse/Joystick.
- using a modern laptop power supply
After finishing the development, "binding orders" are supposed to to find out the actual demand of the Amiga Reloaded. The money has to be payed before mass-production has started. "The boards will be delivered about 18-20 weeks after the initial order phase."

Hollywood: GUI-Toolkit MUI Royale 1.3
Press release: Airsoft Softwair is proud to present the immediate availability of MUI Royale 1.3. This update contains bug fixes and supports more MUI 4.0 features. Please note that MUI 4.0 is now also available for AmigaOS 3, so there is no reason to keep on using the old MUI 3.8 from 1997.
Starting with MUI Royale 1.3, the *.hwc and *.hwp files have been merged so that MUI Royale is just a single binary now. Furthermore, users of Hollywood 6.0 will be happy to see that the installer makes all MUI Royale examples available in the Hollywood GUI now automatically.
MUI Royale requires at least Hollywood 5.2 and is provided free of charge for all users of Hollywood. It is available for AmigaOS 3 (m68k), AmigaOS 4 (PPC), MorphOS (PPC), and AROS (i386).
The package comes with over 20 example scripts, many of which are direct ports from the MUI 3.8 SDK by Stefan Stuntz, but there are also original developments like demonstrations of how to create a video player using the combined power of Hollywood and MUI.
On top of that MUI Royale comes with extensive documentation in over 300 PDF pages which are also available in the HTML, AmigaGuide, and CHM formats thanks to the Hollywood documentation system.
All this makes MUI Royale the truly royal MUI experience, carefully crafted for you Kings and Queens of MUI!

Amiga 30 Years: announcements from A-EON, Individual Computers and Hyperion
Due to the unreliable live video feed, it is complicated to find proper sources for various announcements made at "Amiga: 30 Years" that took place today in Amsterdam. According to short reports from various visitors, the following statements have been made at the show (note that none of them has been confirmed by an official source yet):
There will be no X3500, only the X5000 will go on sale
Trevor Dickinson is said to have revealed that the cheapest version of the next AmigaOne generation will not hit the market: The price of the P3041 quadcore based X3500 would have been too close to the other, P5020/P5040 based dualcore and quadcore models.
Amiga 500 accelerator at 130 Euro, new A1200 expansions
Jens Schönfeld allegedly announced a new Amiga 500 accelerator with integrated RAM, which will cost around 130 Euros. A new A1200 expansion is said to be available in two versions: One with a 680EC20 CPU (24 bit address bus) clocked at 28 Mhz, and one with a regular 68020 CPU at 16 Mhz. At least one of the A1200 expansions will also feature a connector for an USB controller.
Amiga Reloaded
In line with his C64 Reloaded - an unpopulated, newly manufactured C64 motherboard - Jens Schönfeld is allegedly working on a "Amiga Reloaded". Several people report he kept pointing out he has a a large stock of AGA chips, so there is speculation that these new motherboards would actually be (partly) populated.
Gorky 17
Hyperion was showing Gorky 17 at their booth. A visitor reports that only hardware acceleration needs to be added before the title can get released. (cg)

AmigaOS 4: Quake II with HD-textures
Hugues 'HunoPPC' Nouvel has ported a version of the Quake II-engine to AmigaOS 4 which features HD-textures (video). A 3D card with Warp3D support is required.
For old Radeon models (9000, 9200, 9250, R9 etc.), VSYNC should be disabled in the video options. On slow computers the author recommends a solution of 640x480.

MorphOS: SoundBankster 1.4
Antoine 'tchecko' Dubourg's SoundBankster (screenshot) is an application for DJs which can be completely controled with an USB-DJ-deck. A computer with at least 512 MB RAM is resommended.
The programm was written for MorphOS and uses e.g. the HID-Sensor-API which was introduced with version 3.6. Reggae (loading and playing music), AHI and TinyGL (rendering the graphics of the audio signals) are used as well.
Changes:
- Made the beat detection feature working. It seems the 1.3 release is
totally broken here
- Added right mouse button handling when dragging track
- Added some triangle to current position vertical bar to make it more
visible
- Added a marker to see the Cue point in the waveform navigator
- Fixed the Sync function. A missing notification made the whole stuff
not working straight as it should. Sync was working only if the track
had been previously processed and BPM/Cue point saved
- Added some helper for finding the track BPM. x2, /2, +1, -1 BPM and a
rounding function to the closed integer
- Added 1/32 and 1/16 loop size
- Optimized the display of the remaining time by only updating the
display when time changes. Saved 1% CPU from main SoundBankster task
- Fixed beat detector feedback on UI that wasn't working at all
- Fixed display issue for beat bars not being displayed when moving
the cue point with cue left/right buttons
- Cue point can't be negative. Cue point position capped >= 0
- Removed some mostly useless text fields in deck controller (loading
time, track tempo, pitch %, computed tempo) by a single 'Playing Tempo'
field which displays 'Track tempo * pitch value' ie. Track tempo is 120,
pitch is set to 5%, Playing Tempo will be 120 * 1.05 = 126 BPM
- Reworked the time left to play text area. Updates when seeking in the
track

DeliCate Linux: New distribution for Amigas in progress
DeLicate is a Linux distribution which is meant for old computers with very little RAM and low processor performance. At least an i386 or 68020 processor (FPU and MMU are required) is required but a 586 with 233 Mhz or a 68060 with 60 Mhz are recommended. If you want to use a graphical user-interface, your computer should have more than 16 MB RAM (68 MB are recommended).
According to the maintainer in its forum, currently the m68k-port is developed running under ARAnyM emulator. The aim is to port the distribution which is based on the Linux-kernel 2.4 and uClibc to Atari and Amiga computers.

Compiler: vbcc 0.9d, patch 1
vbcc is a C-compiler written by Volker Barthelmann (compiler core) and Frank Wille (Amiga-specific adaptions). The compiler supports AmigaOS 3.x, AmigaOS 4, MorphOS, PowerUp and WarpOS and meets ISO-C (ISO/IEC 9899:1989) as well as a part of the new standard (ISO/IEC 9899:1999 (C99)).
Under the title link the patch for the latest version 0.9d includes an archive with FPU maths libraries which deliver floating-point figures similar to the Unix-System-V.4-ABI. It is for example necessary to write Hollywood-plugins.
