Aminet: main server moves
Aminet moves to another server. While the move had been planned for quite a while, the hoster now decided to move immediately without notifying the Aminet team first. The Aminet team is apologizing for the temporary breakdown, the webinterface should be available again soon.

New home console: Nintendo and the "Wii" feeling
Nintendo has disclosed the secret around the official name of the forthcoming home console, previously code-named "Revolution": "Wii" which is to be released in autum 2006 is to "break down the dividing wall between video-game-players and non-video-game-players" according to Nintendo. "Wii" sounds like "we" in English as Wii is "a console for everybody" it is further said. Further details on Nintendo's console of the next generation, which is to rival Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, can be obtained at the website of Nintendo when clicking at the link above.

Scott McNealy, founding member and for 22 years CEO of the computer company Sun Microsystems, is now no longer running the business as a chairman but only as a member of the supervisory board. His successor will be the previous COO Jonathan Schwartz.

MorphOS: SimpleView 1.5
When clicking at the link above you will see that Tom 'Amigaharry' Duin has published his MorphOS picture observer SimpleView in version 1.4. SimpleView is characterised by the fact that it has been completely written in the PowerPC machine language. In the new version the BestModeID screenmode function for oversized pictures has been improved.
