Software news: LAME v3.97 (beta), unrar v3.51, wget v1.10.2
Newer versions of some linux ports released again at amiga.sf:
- LAME an mp3 encoder. New versions are available for AmigaOS 3 and WarpOS, sndfile.library is required.
- Unrar extracts rar archives. New versions are available for AmigaOS 3 and WarpOS.
- Wget downloads files via http-, https- or ftp protocols and offers numerous options e. g. automated backup of complete web appearances onto the local hard disk.

Emulation: WinUAE 1.1.1 released
The Amiga-Emulator WinUAE is now avalaible in Version 1.1.1.
Following Problems with Windows 9.x/ME are fixed. Furthermore is the fully
SCSI-Support in SPTI-Modus
(SCSI Pass-Through Interface) implemented.

At the "Fall Processor Forum" in San Jose the new "POWER"-CPU Family was
presented. They are design for a high output with a minor electricalpower
consumtion.
This CPUs are SoC-Parts (System on Chip),
this means all Peripherie devices, like Memory Controller,
PCIe, Ethernet and I/O, are integrated.
