Event: Local TV will cover Belgian C= and Amiga show
The local TV station Ring TV will make a report of the Belgian Commodore show. The show will be next sunday from 10:00 till 17:00 at the Taverne Schettenberg in Affligem, Belgium (near Brussels). Every Commodore fan is welcome and entrance is for free. (snx)

Game database: AmigaMemo celebrates first anniversary

Updates for SimpleCat and R

amigalon5: Database Fiasco in version 1.2 available as giftware

Problems when using the alternative mpega.library clone
Lorence Lombardo is pointing out a problem of release 7 of the alternative mpega.library clone (mpega_libmad.lha).

The clone library is returning false-positive validity for files which are no MPEG audio files more often than the original one (mpega_library.lha). This is causing programs such as playOGG and mpega to fail. (snx)

APC&TCP distributor of MED Soundstudio 2
APC&TCP announcing they will become the worldwide distributor for MED Soundstudio 2. That AmigaOS 4 announced product is the official successor of OctaMED Soundstudio V1.3c.

Print magazine: Total Amiga Magazine #22 including Troika interview
The British print magazine Total Amiga Magazine anounces for the coming issue an exclusive interview with Troika about their planed PowerPC board Amy'05.

Newer versions of some linux ports released again at amiga.sf:
  • LAME an mp3 encoder. New versions are available for AmigaOS 3 and WarpOS, sndfile.library is required.
  • Unrar extracts rar archives. New versions are available for AmigaOS 3 and WarpOS.
  • Wget downloads files via http-, https- or ftp protocols and offers numerous options e. g. automated backup of complete web appearances onto the local hard disk.

The Amiga-Emulator WinUAE is now avalaible in Version 1.1.1. Following Problems with Windows 9.x/ME are fixed. Furthermore is the fully SCSI-Support in SPTI-Modus (SCSI Pass-Through Interface) implemented.

At the "Fall Processor Forum" in San Jose the new "POWER"-CPU Family was presented. They are design for a high output with a minor electricalpower consumtion.

AmigaOS 4: Warp3D picture viewer WarpView
The picture viewer WarpView uses Warp3D (and with it, the 3D hardware of your computer) for displaying pictures. The advantage lies in very fast and high-quality scalings (screenshot) that are thus possible, however, the program requires more Video-RAM than conventional picture viewers. BeOS successor Zeta 1.1 as gratis Live-CD as well

BBoAH: Complete outage of the German mirror
Due to a complete outage of our hoster, the German mirror of the BBoAH is not accessible at the moment. Since, therefore, no Mails can be received and sent either, it is asked to send important Mails anew when the hoster is back on the Net.
