Event: First reports of Alchimie X (update)
On the first day of the Alchimie X in France, there were the following news about Minimig and AmigaOS 4:
- The announced software surprise for AmigaOS 4.1 was a DVD with over 70 game ports provided by Hugues 'HunoPPC' Nouvel.
- Secondly, ACube Systems lifted the secret about the "MiniMig+", which is as fast as a 68030-processor with 30 MHz. An ARM-chip, 32 MB RAM (can be upgraded up to 64 MB), 8 MB chip-RAM, two USB-ports, network connection, realtime clock, two SD-card readers and 18-Bit-video output are integrated. The FPGA is twice as big as before and thus sufficiently big for an AGA-core. It will be half as large as the Mini-ITX-format. The project will be not finished in near future.
- Additional to the DVD, Hugues Nouvel has released five new games for AmigaOS 4.1, which are mainly Egoshooter (World Of Padman, a new version of ioQuake, Smokin'Guns, Star Trek Voyager Elite Force and Tremulous) as well as the puzzle game Dale Hardshovel.
Update:
- On Sunday for MorphOS 3.4 the following facts have been announced:
- Support of non-native PowerBook screen resolutions
- Improved support of R300-based graphic boards (Radeon 9500, 9600, 9700, 9800)
- Highly improved AGP-transfer rates on G5-computers (by a factor of 5, up to 1,2 GB/s) and bug fixed 16-Bit screen resolutions
- Improved network-stack (speed and configuration)
- Password protection of the screen (during booting the computer or after inactivity)
- MorphOS 3.5 will be a bug fix release
- MorphOS 3.6 is supposed to include the following components:
- Support of modern graphic boards
- Support of further G5-models
- Javascript-JIT for Odyssey-Webbrowser
- CUPS-Integration
- SSHFS and SMBFS via FUSE

Indivision AGA Mk2: Inofficial SuperPlus configuration file
For the Flickerfixer Indivision AGA Mk2 an inofficial configuration file for using the monitor driver SuperPlus has been released (version 40.5 of the driver must be installed in Sys:Devs/Monitors).
The file has been not completely finished and may cause minor problems - e.g. the boot picture does not fit the full screen and is not centered. It must be chosen in the preferences programm of the Indivision and then set in the Workbench-preferences of the screen mode "SuperPlus HighResLaced (800x600)".
With the same configuration file, HighGFX can be used as well. Only the default setting 1024x768 must be deactivated and instead the screen resolution 800x600 in the Workbench-preferences used.

Event: Pianeta Amiga 2013 (Italy)
The 15th Pianeta Amiga will take place on 14th and 15 December in Bologna. Among others ACube Systems, A-EON Technology, Cloanto, AmigaKit and the Bitplane-magazine will take part. According to the organizers, the event will be a "milestone for the whole community" and by taking part in the event, you can become "part of the change".
The entrance is free but donations are very welcome (on the currently still not updated website) to "help for the rental of the location for event".

AmigaOS 4: Remake of "Battle Squadron" available
For some time, Cope-Com has been selling a port of its Amiga classic Battle Squadron for iOS and Android. From now on a port for modern desktop computers is available as well, for Windows, OS X and AmigaOS 4.
The game is sold as digital download or as "Collector's edition" on DVD. According to earlier announcements, the desktop version uses a screen resolution of 1024x768 pixels. Free demo versions are available as well.

MiniHollyEdit, written by the French programmer 'ArtBlink', is an ARexx-based editor for the programming language Hollywood, which so far was only available for Windows.
Features:

Putty Squad: Release failed due to disks
After the announcement to make available the so far unreleased full version of the Amiga game Putty Squad (amiga-news.de reported) and after our unanswered requests, if it might be the well-known demo version handele, System 3 now back-pedals:
In a video interview with Eurogamer under the title link, the CEO, Mark Cale, told (from minute 7 on) that currently options are considered but the original project could not be put into action because nobody could create the Amiga-disks to then add them to the collector's edition of the new HD-version for PC, Mac and consoles.

MorphOS: First beta version of new printing system
Michal 'zukow' Zukowski is working on a port of parts of the CUPS-infrastructure for MorphOS, financed by a bounty. Meanwhile a first, very early beta version is available, which according to the author "sends tons of debug and can crash". Color profiles are not supported in this version.
Zukowski tries to port single CUPS printer driver (called "filter") to MorphOS and then to integrate them to the system. A preferences programm is included as well.
Currently Zukowski provides onyl drivers for Postscript-printer. In contrast to the MorphOS built-in system, his system supports diverse comfort and special functions of the connected devices (e.g. number of copies, scaling and desired printing quality etc.).

About 150 Amiga users will attend the tenth issue of the Alchimie (9th until 11th November, Tain l'Hermitage, France). ACube (represented by CEO Enrico Vidale and webmaster Stefano Guidetti) also will attend the event and bring AmigaOS 4-users a "software surprise".
