Boing Attitude: Interview mit George Sokianos
Boing Attitude hatte im Oktober 2023 die siebente Ausgabe des französisches Printmagazins "BOING" veröffentlicht. Unter anderem war dort auch ein Interview mit George 'walkereo' Sokianos zu lesen, der unter anderem federführend die WebKit-Portierung für AmigaOS 4 verantwortet und Softwareprojekte wie den Editor Lite XL für AmigaOS 4 und MorphOS umsetzt. SCSI-Emulation: BlueSCSI-Toolbox V1.2
Die BlueSCSI-Toolbox vereint zwei Dienstprogramme zur Verwaltung eines BlueSCSI V2 oder ZuluSCSI in einem Commodore Amiga.
Der CD-Wechsler ermöglicht es, zwischen CD-ISO-Images auf der SD-Karte während des Betriebs zu wechseln. Mit dem SD-Transfer-Tool wieder kann man Dateien von der SD-Karte auf den Amiga übertragen.

Spiel: Hack and Slay V0.9
Bei dieser schlichten Amiga-Umsetzung des Mailbox-Spiels "Hack and Slash" gilt es, mit einem Strichmännchen fünf Level zu erkunden. In der neuen Version wurden ein paar "fiese Fallen" in ein paar zufälligen Räumen auf allen Ebenen hinzugefügt und einige Bugs entfernt. Vorausgesetzt werden AmigaOS 3.x sowie 1 MB RAM. (dr)

Chat-Software: AmigaGPT V1.5.0 für AmigaOS 3 und 4
Cameron Armstrong hat mit AmigaGPT ein Chatprogramm geschrieben, das die Leistungsfähigkeit des Chatbots ChatGPT nutzt (amiga-news.de berichtete). Ursprünglich geschrieben für AmigaOS 3.2, unterstützt das Programm mittlerweile auch AmigaOS 3.9, Cloantos Workbench 3.X und AmigaOS 4.1. Die Änderungen der Version 1.5.0:
- Unterstützung für OpenAI Text to Speech Stimmen. Schnelle Internetverbindung empfohlen
- Aktualisiert auf die neuesten OpenAI-Chatmodelle (einschließlich GPT-4o, das vorerst nur für ChatGPT Plus-Abonnenten funktioniert)
- Debugsymbole entfernt für eine schnellere und kleinere ausführbare Datei

ACube Systems: UBoot 2015.c für Sam460EX-, Sam460CR- und Sam460LE-Boards

ACube Systems freut sich, eine neue Version der U-Boot-Firmware für seine Sam460-Motherboards anzukündigen. Neu in dieser Version:
- Unterstützung für Radeon RX-Karten hinzugefügt
- aktualisierter x86-Emulator
- USB-Handling verbessert, insbesondere für die Tastaturunterstützung
- neues Bootlogo und neue Menügrafiken
- FAT-Unterstützung hinzugefügt
- mehrere Tippfehler und kleine Grafikfehler behoben
Die aktualisierte Installationsanleitung beschreibt detailliert die übliche Installationsmethode (ISO-Image) und alternative Methoden (TFTP und USB).

Survival-Game: Zombie Survivor V0.69
Sami Vehmaas aktuelles Projekt ist ein "Zombie Survival" genanntes Spiel für Amigas mit Grafikkarte, in dem man sich einer endlosen Armee von Untoten erwehren muss (amiga-news.de berichtete). Die neueste Betaversion ist laut Autor "ein großer Entwicklungssprung": mehr Waffen, Joystick-Unterstützung, mehr Animationen, mehr Audio und mehr Levels (YouTube-Video). (dr)

Printmagazin: Retro Gamer 03/24
Die Retro Gamer 03/2024 ist die zweite Ausgabe, die die Redaktion im Eigenvertrieb herausgibt (amiga-news.de berichtete). Die gedruckte Einzelausgabe kann man für 14,90 Euro plus 2 Euro Versand bzw. das ePaper für 12,90 Euro erwerben. Auch ein Abo ist möglich.
Amigaseitig von Interesse dürften unter anderem die Titelstory über die 90er Jahre sein als auch der Artikel über "Ports of Call", der laut Autoren ersten nennenswerten Wirtschaftssimulation auf dem Amiga. (dr)

Amiga-Emulator: Audio-Fix für vAmigaWeb (iOS, iPadOS)
Bei vAmigaWeb handelt es sich um einen Amiga-Emulator für den Web-Browser bzw. um eine Progressive Web App (PWA) auf Basis des Amiga-Emulators für MacOS vAmiga.
Im vorliegenden Update hat der Entwickler 'mithendal' das Problem behoben, dass nach Aktivierung des Handys bzw. des iPads aus einer längeren App-Hintergrundsperre die Audioverbindung mit der Meldung "Failed to start the audio device" verloren ging. (dr)

Verwaltung von ADF-Dateien: adflib V0.9.0 für Windows, Linux und macOS
Laurent Clevy veröffentlichte erstmals adflib im Jahre 1999 in der Version 0.7.8 (Aminet). Die vorwiegend in C geschriebene, portable C-Bibliothek dient der Verwaltung von Amiga-formatierten Geräten wie Festplatten und ZIP-Disks bzw. deren Auslagerung über das .ADF-Format (amiga-news.de berichtete). Aktuell wird die Bibliothek in der Verantwortung von Tomasz Wolak weitergeführt. Änderungen in der Version 0.9.0:
- improved write support (block allocation bitmap checking and rebuilding)
- new unified api for all devices, allowing to implement new device drivers in client code
- possibility to enable/disable device drivers
- added a new device: ramdisk
- improved and better tested salvage code (still experimental!)
- cleaned-up and improved library API (ie. separated namespace)
- added new command-line utilities:adf_bitmap, adf_salvage
- many bugfixes and internal improvements
- dual license (GPL-2+ or LGPL2.1+)

Arcadeumsetzung: King and Balloon V0.92
"King and Balloon" ist eine Arcadeumsetzung des ursprünglich 1980 von Namco veröffentlichten Titels King & Balloon (amiga-news.de berichtete). Die nun veröffentlichte neue Betaversion Version 0.92 behebt einige Grafik- und Soundeffekt-Probleme und korrigiert die Position des Königs beim Aufeinandertreffen. (dr)
