strangé 0.20
strangé ist ein MUI-basierter AmigaGuide-/HTML-Anzeiger, der auf HTMLView.mcc basiert. Änderungen in Version 0.20:
- Hemmm removed the fake iconify on MorphOS; it had
some strange side effects that made it not usable
in a clean way
- Changed lineread.c to dynamically allocate buffers.
There were problems with genesis and old fixed buffer
scheme.
- Fixed popfile.c not freying an allocated buffer
- Fixed html.c double allocating URLs

Bilder von der "C= Show"
Am 16. Februar fand in Maarssen (Holland) wieder die monatliche "C= Show" der Commodore Gebruikers Groep statt. Bilder von der Veranstaltung, bei der u.A. diverse Hardware-Entwickler (1541-IDE, 1541-III, 1541-Ultimate, DC2N) anwesend waren, sind auf der Webseite des Vereins im Bereich "C= Show reports" zu finden. AmigaOS 4: Origyn Web Browser 1.12
Jörg Strohmayer hat ein Update des Origyn Web Browser veröffentlicht. Änderungen in dieser Version:
- v1.12: Fixed the bug which caused crashes with missing fonts in version 1.10 and 1.11
- v1.11: Fixed a bug in the OS4 font code and changed some parameters to improve the display
- v1.11: Changed the network code to only wait, delaying the (re)rendering, if data is transferred.
Alternativ zum 7z-Archiv auf der Webseite des Autors steht im Aminet auch eine LhA-Version der OWB-Distribution zur Verfügung.

Verschollener Bonus-Level in Apidya enteckt
Kaikos 1992 veröffentlichtes Shoot'em Up Apidya enthält einige Bonus-Level - einer davon war offenbar aufgrund eines Fehlers im Programm bisher vom Spieler nicht zu erreichen.
In seinem Blog beschreibt John Girvin wie er auf die Existenz dieses Bonus-Levels aufmerksam gemacht wurde und ihn für den Spieler zugänglich machen konnte, außerdem stellt er Screenshots und ein Video von dem Level zur Verfügung, den er kurzerhand "Speed of Light" getauft hat.
Girvin hat einen WHDLoad-Patch veröffentlicht, mit dem Besitzer des Originals den Level ebenfalls spielen können.

Hollywood: Aktuelles zur Mailingliste
Pressemitteilung Die Hollywood-Mailingliste wurde vor geraumer Zeit auf "invite only" umgestellt, um zu verhindern, dass Spammer der Liste beitreten und die Mitglieder mit Werbung überfluten. Leider kann diese Einstellung über Yahoo! Groups jetzt nicht mehr rückgängig gemacht werden, weshalb die Mailingliste für ewige Zeiten "invite only" bleiben wird, also ihr nur mit Einladung beigetreten werden kann.
Daher befindet sich auf der Produktseite von Hollywood auf der Airsoft-Softwair-Homepage nun ein Formular, mit dem User, die gerne der Mailingliste beitreten möchten, eine persönliche Einladung anfordern können.
Die Hollywood-Mailingliste ist für jedermann geöffnet; es können auch User beitreten, die Hollywood noch nicht besitzen, wenn sie sich für das Programm interessieren und/oder Fragen dazu haben. (snx)

Veranstaltung: Classic Computing 2008
Pressemitteilung Classic Computing 2008 am 27. und 28. September im Eurotec-Center in Moers.
Auch in diesem Jahr lädt der "Verein zum Erhalt klassischer Computer e.V." wieder zur Classic Computing ein, diesmal am Westrand des Ruhrgebietes, in den Hallen im "Eurotec-Center" in 47445 Moers.
Auf über 600 Quadratmetern erwarten Sie, wie auch in den letzten Jahren, Sammlungen von Homecomputern, Spielekonsolen, Bürocomputern, aber auch die Reparaturecke, wo Rechner von Vereinsmitgliedern kostenlos wieder in Stand gesetzt werden. Natürlich darf auch an extra hierzu aufgebauten historischen Computern gespielt werden.
Schwerpunkte haben wir in diesem Jahr verschiedene gesetzt, zum Beispiel eine möglichst vollständige Sammlung aller von Commodore jemals gebauten Computer, vom PET 2001 bis zum Amiga 4000T.
Ein weiteres wichtiges Thema in diesem Jahr ist der Atari. Aber auch andere Computer wie Amiga, MSX, klassische PCs und Sinclair kommen nicht zu kurz.
Geöffnet ist die Classic Computing für Besucher am Samstag von 10.00 Uhr bis 19.00 Uhr, am Sonntag von 11.00 Uhr bis 16.00 Uhr. Der Eintritt beträgt 5 Euro.
Aber nicht nur Vereinsmitglieder werden dort ausstellen, auch andere Vereine, private Sammler und Firmen sind herzlich willkommen.
Das Standgeld ist bewusst sehr niedrig gehalten, um auch Privatleuten eine Teilnahme zu ermöglichen.

AROS: TeXlive portiert (x86)
Alain Greppin hat sich im Rahmen der Team-AROS-Bounties der Portierung von TeX angenommen und für AROS/x86 unter dem Titellink nun TeXlive bereitgestellt.
Zahlreiche Skripte sind jedoch gegenwärtig noch nicht unter AROS nutzbar, da sie eine POSIX-Shell oder Perl benötigen. (snx)

AmigaOS 4: Word Me Up XXL
"Word Me Up XXL" von Boing Attitude kombiniert Arcade- und Knobel-Elemente (Screenshot des PacMan-Levels). Das nun für AmigaOS 4 erhältliche Spiel umfasst 60 Level und liegt auf deutsch, englisch, französisch, italienisch, polnisch, russisch, schwedisch und spanisch (einschließlich lateinamerikanischem spanisch) vor.
Eine MorphOS-Fassung ist bereits in Arbeit, AROS-Unterstützung geplant. Zum Testen wurde eine kostenlose, auf vier Level beschränkte Demoversion bereitgestellt. (snx)

AmigaOS 4: Origyn Web Browser 1.10
Jörg Strohmayer hat ein Update des Origyn Web Browser veröffentlicht (Screenshot). OWB enthält jetzt eine einfache Toolbar, für die Toolbar-Grafiken wird AISS unterstützt. Die Änderungen in Version 1.10:
- Added tooltypes for the window size (WIDTH and HEIGHT). The sizes are for the web view, not the complete window
- Stop gadget is disabled now after loading a page is completed
- The 4th and 5th mouse buttons are used for back/forward now
- Added tooltip support (displayed in the progress bar as well)
- Changed some font engine parameters, the fonts look better now IMHO
- Added support for a fallback font (tooltype UNICODEFONT, default Bitstream Cyberbit) which is used for missing glyphs in the normal fonts
- Disabled all stdio output if OWB is started from workbench
- Changed the network settings to the normal values again (at most 5 connections instead of the 25 used in previous versions which may be rejected by some sites). On most pages it's fast enough now, but since especially on large pages with lots of images without sizes, for example most forums, the rerendering of the pages after each completed (image) load still slowed it down a *lot* I changed it to only (re)render the pages after everything was loaded, or every 5 seconds. Although it makes loading most pages much faster, it can cause way too long delays on interactive sites loading additional data like http://maps.google.com/ instead. Since that's only the case on a few sites I guess it's better that way, and when/if OWB gets much faster the 5 seconds can be decreased.
- Back/forward gadgets are disabled now while loading, and if there is nothing in the history to go to
- Updated to SVN revision 239 (BMP image decoder added)

RNO Records: 100. Musicdisk
Die finnische Amiga-Demogruppe RNO hat ihre 100. Musicdisk veröffentlicht. Diese läuft auf jedem Amiga mit AGA oder RTG sowie auch unter AmigaOS 4 und MorphOS.
Die enthaltenen Stücke sind von den RNO-Mitgliedern DENSHO, RM, ROZ, XNI und ZANY sowie als Gaststar GOTO80 von Up Rough. Zusätzlich enthält die Musicdisk ein Spiel.

Printmagazin: Umfrage zur Amiga Future
Pressemitteilung Wir wollen das Print-Magazin Amiga Future stetig verbessern. Dazu müssen wir jedoch wissen, welche Meinung ihr über das Magazin habt und was wir daran ändern sollen.
Deswegen haben wir unter dem Titellink eine Umfrage gestartet. Bei dieser ist es auch möglich, einen Kommentar zu schreiben, warum man zum Beispiel die Amiga Future nicht bezieht. Die Umfrage ist natürlich anonym.
Wir bitten darum, dass möglichst viele User mitmachen, damit wir auch die Möglichkeit haben, das Heft zu verbessern. (snx)

AmigaOS 4: Vektorzeichenprogramm MindSpace 1.1, Mindspace 2 Preview
MindSpace ist ein Zeichenprogramm, mit dem sich bspw. Flussdiagramme, UML-Diagramme, Mindmaps oder Vektorbilder erstellen lassen (Screenshot).
Die jetzt verfügbare Version 1.1, die nun auch Textboxen unterstützt (Screenshot), wird das letzte Update für Mindspace 1 sein.
Die Arbeiten am Nachfolger Mindspace 2, der sich mehr an traditionellen Vektorzeichenprogrammen wie Inkscape oder Drawstudio orientieren wird, haben bereits begonnen. Eine frühe Alpha-Version steht bereits zur Verfügung (Screenshots: 1, 2).

AmigaAnywhere 2 SDK: Erste Erfahrungsberichte (Update)
Auf amigaworld.net berichten Anwender von ihren ersten Erfahrungen mit dem kürzlich veröffentlichten Software Development Kit für AmigaAnywhere 2. Offenbar muss man wie bereits beim Vorgänger zunächst einem "Software Distribution Agreement" zustimmen, bevor man Zugang zum SDK erhält.
Die Entwicklerwerkzeuge scheinen auf GCC und der restlichen GNU-Toolchain zu basieren, programmiert wird in C. Die Dokumentation enthält neben der Beschreibung der APIs auch ein Tutorial zur Entwicklung eines Videospiels.

Entgegen diversen bisher von dritter Seite geäußerten Mutmaßungen, basiert AA2 im Gegensatz zum Vorgänger nicht auf einer sogenannten Virtual Machine. Offenbar handelt es sich lediglich um eine Bibliothek die zahlreiche Funktionen für die Entwicklung von Spielen anbietet (über 600 Funktionen, die meisten davon Grafik-bezogen - u.a. für "Sprites"). Eine AA2-Anwendung wird in C entwickelt und dann mit GCC für die gewünschte Zielplattform compiliert und mit der AA2-Bibliothek verlinkt.

PowerPoint-Anzeiger: PointRider 0.50
PointRider ist ein SDL-basierter PowerPoint-Anzeiger für AmigaOS 4 und MorphOS. Änderungen in Version 0.50:
- Bilinear interpolation to scale images
- Right fonts are used if available on the system
- Font rendering using paragraph attributes (alignment, color, size,
bold/italic/underline)
- Display of inherited objects from the master slide
- Improved background
support: several shade types
- Splitted the main file to have a independant
graphic engine (only SDL at the moment)
- AmiUpdate support (OS4 only)
- MeltingPoint: Added text support, background, inherited objects, ... and all improvements from the PointRider engine !

MorphOS: Tooltype 1.3
Christian Rosentreters "Tooltype" ist ein kleines Programm, mit dem sich aus der Befehlszeile heraus - wie der Name schon sagt - die in den Piktogrammdateien (#?.info) enthaltenen Tooltypes bearbeiten lassen. In der Version 1.3 werden nun auch NewIcons berücksichtigt.

Bei der nächsten Veranstaltung der niederländischen Commodore Gebruikersgroep am 16. Februar in Maarssen werden unter anderem die C64-Projekte DC2N, 1541 IDE und 1541-Ultimate gezeigt.
Außerdem gibt es eine Commodore- und Amiga-Verkaufsecke sowie einen Bastel-Workshop. (snx)
