Veranstaltung: Saku 2015 in Oulu (Finnland), 26. September
Die Finnish Amiga Users Group führt am 26. September die achte Auflage der "Saku" in Oulu (Finnland) durch. Es werden diverse Rechner aus 30 Jahren Amiga-Geschichte zu sehen sein, vom A1000 bis zum AmigaOne X1000. Der finnische Händler Gentle Eye sowie das Magazin Skrolli sind als Aussteller vor Ort. Der Eintritt ist kostenlos, die Saku 2015 öffnet ihre Pforten um 14 Uhr. (cg)

AROS: Wöchentliche Fortschritte (ab 07.09.15)
Allwöchentlich fasst Krzysztof 'Deadwood' Śmiechowicz die jüngsten Fortschritte der AROS-Programmierer zusammen. Diesmal wurden verschiedene MUI-Klassen gepflegt.
Week of September 7th:
- Zune test suite is now extended to support almost all List and Listview methods and attributes (neil)
- Problem with up/down arrows in List MUI class not working sometimes fixed (deadwood)
- Later setting a title in List MUI class no longer causes crash (neil)
- A crash in Pendisplay MUI class has been fixed (neil)
- Switching between pages or adding a page in Group MUI class no longer causes flickering (deadwood)
- Newly added tabs in Title MUI class are now rendered as inactive (deadwood)

Allwöchentlich fasst Krzysztof 'Deadwood' Śmiechowicz die jüngsten Fortschritte der AROS-Programmierer zusammen. Unter anderem wurden diesmal mit den Autodocs die technische Referenzdokumentation aktualisiert.
Week of August 31st:
- Intuition is now using nominal resolution provided by the driver (Kalamatee)
- vbam is now compiled for x86_64 (Kalamatee)
- Boot task is now properly finalized (Kalamatee)
- Autodocs documentation has been updated from source code (mazze)
- Exiting MUI List class "quiet" state now causes proper scroll bar update (deadwood)
- System/SysMon no longer crashes when there is less tasks then list capacity (deadwood)
- OpenAL library has been updated to version 1.16.0

AROS: Rebol-3-Testversion
Kevin Janzer hat Carl Sassenraths Skriptsprache Rebol 3 für AROS/i386 portiert. In der Testversion bestehen noch folgende Einschränkungen:
- Commands requiring default web browser do not work
- Running rebol scripts from r3 command do not work so instead you can run them with the 'do' function, e.g. do %helloworld.r
- Chat does not work

Nach der vorangegangenen Sammelbestellung bietet Loriano Pagni nun über Kickstarter die Produktion einer zweiten Charge von Amiga-Tasten für Tastaturen mit Cherry-MX-kompatiblen Schaltern an.
Neben verschiedenen Farben sind auch individuelle Motive sowie die Bestellung fertigmontierter Tastaturen möglich. An Ländervarianten besteht die Auswahl zwischen deutsch, amerikanisch, dänisch, englisch, französisch, französisch-belgisch, französisch-kanadisch, griechisch-amerikanisch, italienisch, russisch, serbisch-lateinisch, spanisch und schwedisch/finnisch. Veranstaltung: Geit@Home #3 2015 (23. bis 25. Oktober)
Von Freitag, dem 23., bis Sonntag, dem 25. Oktober, richtet Guido Mersmann die nächste Geit@Home aus. Beim Hardware-Treffen der Amiga-Clubs Osnabrück und Steinfurt sind traditionell viele MorphOS-Rechner vertreten, andere Amiga-Systeme jedoch ausdrücklich ebenfalls willkommen. AmigaOS 4 wird wieder mit mindestens einem Computer vertreten sein, auch ein AmigaOne X5000 wird erwartet.
Teilnehmer, die ihren Rechner mitbringen wollen, werden gebeten, sich anzumelden, da nur eine begrenzte Anzahl von Rechnerplätzen zur Verfügung steht. Wer seinen Laptop mitbringt, braucht zwar keinen festen Platz, sollte sich aber dennoch anmelden, damit der Veranstalter den Überblick behält. Der Eintritt ist wie immer frei. (snx)

AROS: Odyssey Web Browser 1.25 (Betaversion)
Krzysztof 'Deadwood' Śmiechowicz arbeitet wie angekündigt an der AROS-Portierung einer aktuellen Version des MorphOS-Web-Browsers Odyssey. Nun wurde die Betaversion 1.25 veröffentlicht.
Vorausgesetzt wird die AROS-Distribution Icaros Desktop 2.03 oder ein kompatibles System. Zudem müssen einige Systemdateien aktualisiert werden. Die Installation sollte nicht in das Verzeichnis einer früheren Version des Browsers erfolgen.

- Ported Odyssey directly on top of WebKit repository. (Common)

MorphOS: Passwort-Manager PastePass 1.2
Stefan 'Kronos' Kleinheinrichs PastePass ist ein Passwort-Manager für MorphOS mit verschlüsselter Datenbank, der auf ein entsprechendes Tastaturkürzel hin den Benutzernamen und das Passwort einfügt. Auch ein Hilfsprgogramm zur Verschlüsselung der Passwörter ist enthalten.
Änderungen in Version 1.2:
- load and save KeyPassX compatible XML files
- basic grouping of entries
- a default user can be selected
- spanish and french locales included

Dateimanager: Directory Opus 5.91 für AmigaOS 3/4 und AROS
Von dem seit Ende 2012 quelloffenen Dateimanager Directory Opus 5 (früher: "Magellan") steht nach einem Jahr ein neues Update zur Verfügung, in dem weitere Fehler beseitigt und diverse Altlasten entfernt wurden.
Mit dieser Veröffentlichung ändert sich das Format der Konfigurationsdateien. Alte Dateien werden von Directory Opus 5.91 anstandslos geladen, aber beim ersten Speichern in ein neues Format konvertiert, das ältere Versionen des Programms nicht mehr lesen können.
- Increased embedded font filename sizes
- added/updated internal version checks of libs/modules to avoid crashes when users mix old and new setups
- removed the ~1MB upper limit for the stack of launched programs (Environment/Cli Launching/Stack)
- make default minimum stack size a bit bigger that 4000 everywhere (8192 for os3 , and 16384 for os4/mos/aros)
- some cosmetic everywhere (like about window now contain more info, updating dopus5.guide to the latest one, and co)
- more 64bit fixes: experimental dospatches (dopus/dospatch env) & some of modules works as expected.
- fixed 2 bugs in xadopus.module which left unnoticed: trash of memory when close lister with content, and wrong unpacking of directories with half-same names
- fixed most of cases when user want to use new version of dopus over old 5.82 to avoid crashes
- reworked LowMemory handler
- many OS3 only fixes (i.e, crash when OS3 environment palette window (configopus) closed, most of crashes because of mixing old and new componenets (like
crash if dopus5.library missing or outdated), etc). Also now ks3.0 is minimum, not ks3.1 as it was with 5.90.
- many OS4 only fixes(i.e, making dopus5 works with recent MUIs, fixing crash if "dopus/PatchWBInfo" environmental variable is set and the WBInfo patch is used,
filetype.module crash, join.module "split" progress window graph, more 64bit fixes, lister up-scrolling problem, etc)
- many AROS only fixes (i.e, disks can now be hidden (Environment/Desktop/HiddenDrives, saving the FTP options now works, fixig of lister's backgrounds,
fixing of deadlocks with AmiStart, drag mask for screens with high color depth, popup menu icon, etc)
- All the little tweaks and fixes all over the place, check the ChangeLog for more details

AROS: Wöchentliche Updates (ab 03.08.15)
Allwöchentlich fasst Krzysztof 'Deadwood' Śmiechowicz die jüngsten Fortschritte der AROS-Programmierer zusammen. In den letzten Zwei Wochen gab es vor allem kleinere Verbesserungen in verschiedenen MUI-Klassen, außerdem gibt es ein kleines Jubiläum zu feiern: Im Quellcode-Repository von AROS wurde die 51000. Änderung verzeichnet.

Veranstaltung: Entwickler-Vorträge beim 16. Amiga-Meeting
Die Organsiatoren des 16. Amiga-Meeting in Bad Bramstedt freuen sich, die Teilnahme von Costel Mincea und Jörg Renkert bekanntgeben zu können.
Mincea, Direktor der Firma Hyperion-Entertainment, wird einen Vortrag halten zum Thema "AmigaOS 4 - Was war, was wird" halten, mit abschliessender Fragerunde. Jörg Renkert, der mit Hollywood programmiert, plant einen Vortrag zum Thema ArtBase.
Entwickler, die daran interessiert sind auf dem Amiga-Meeting ihre Produkte vorzustellen, können sich gern beim Organisationsteam melden und über das Anmeldeformular auf der Homepage Kontakt aufnehmen. (cg)

Crowdfunding: Arcade-Shooter "Tower 57" für AmigaOS 4, MorphOS und AROS (Update)
"Tower 57" soll ein Shooter im Retro-Look werden, der mit zwei Sticks (auf einem Gamepad) oder Maus und Tastatur gesteuert werden kann - dazu müssten bis zum 2. September Vorbestellungen im Wert von 45.000 Euro gesammelt worden sein, aktueller Stand sind gut 29.000 Euro.
In einem Status-Update geben die Entwickler jetzt bekannt, dass die bereits angedeutete Amiga-Umsetzung tatsächlich möglich sein wird: Bei 46.000 liegt das erste "Stretch Goal" der Kampagne - bei diesem Betrag wird die Amiga-Version Realität. Für die Durchführung der Portierung konnte Daniel 'Daytona675x' Müßener von Cherry Darling gewonnen werden.

Wie der Programmierer im Kommentarbereich bekannt gibt, wird bei Erreichen des "Amiga"-Ziels auch eine AROS-Portierung in Angriff genommen werden. (cg)

AmigaOS 4 / MorphOS: Ask Me Up 2.4.0
Jérôme 'Glames' Senays Ask Me Up ist ein Ratespiel für AmigaOS 4 und MorphOS (sowie Android, Linux und Windows), bei dem Fragen zum Allgemeinwissen zu beantworten sind, wobei stets vier Aussagen zur Auswahl stehen. In der L- und XL-Edition existiert zudem ein Zwei-Spieler-Modus. Eine Demoversion mit 80 Fragen ist kostenlos verfügbar.
In der Version 2.4.0 wurde die Lesbarkeit verbessert und der Antworten-Knopf für einige Fragen animiert. Neben Fehlerbereinigungen wurde zudem eine portugiesische Übersetzung ergänzt und die spanische verbessert. (snx)

Veranstaltung: Amiga-Treffen im IN-Berlin
Nach dem ersten Berliner Amiga-Treffen in den Räumen des Vereins Individual Network (IN-Berlin, Lehrter Straße 53, 10557 Berlin) soll dies nun eine regelmäßige Einrichtung am letzten Samstag im Monat werden. Das nächste Treffen findet entsprechend am 29. August statt. Beginn ist um 15 Uhr, das voraussichtliche Ende um Mitternacht. (snx)

AROS: Wöchentliche Fortschritte (ab 27.07.15)
Allwöchentlich fasst Krzysztof 'Deadwood' Śmiechowicz die jüngsten Fortschritte der AROS-Programmierer zusammen. Diesmal wurde u.a. die Fehlerbehandlung des FAT-Handlers verbessert sowie die MUI-Klassen List und Listview an die MUI4-Spezifikation angepasst.
Week of July 27th:
- Prefs/Locale no longer looses language information when reseting to default state (deadwood)
- Fat-handler is now showing an error requester when I/O error happens (neil)
- Fat-handler has now better error handling (neil)
- Formatting procedure using fat-handler is now writing immediately to disk (neil)
- MUI List and Listview classes have been updated to behave according to MUI4 specification (deadwood)
- MUI Listtree class has been aligned with changes to List and Listview classes (deadwood)

XzentriX 2015 (04.-06.09.2015, Seeshaupt am Starnberger See)
Vom 04.09.2015 bis 06.09.2015 findet in Seeshaupt am Starnberger See das "XzentriX Treffen 2015" statt. Die Veranstaltung versteht sich als ein Treffen für Liebhaber alter oder außergewöhnlicher Computer.
Das XzentriX Treffen wendet sich an Computerfreunde, die an "ein Leben nach der Standardsoftware" glauben: "0815 ist out, C64 ist in..." - so, oder so ähnlich könnte das Motto der XzentriX lauten. Die Organisatoren rufen dazu auf, alles mitzubringen "was gut und exotisch ist" - und weniger als 33 Bit spricht.
Am Samstag gibt es einen für alle Teilnehmer (also auch Anbieter) kostenlosen Flohmarkt. Anmeldung und weitere Infos gibt es auf der Webseite der Veranstalter. (cg)

Hallo liebe Amigafans,
in der vergangenen Ausgabe hatten wir Euch anlässlich des 30. Geburtstag des Amiga einen Bericht aus Amsterdam mitgebracht. Auch in den USA wurde dieses Ereignis gefeiert. Wir sprachen per Skype mit Wei-ju, ein BoingsWorld-Hörer der ersten Stunde welcher in den USA lebt, wie in Mountain View gefeiert wurde.
Neben seinen Eindrücken hat er auch ein paar Videos mitgebracht die Ihr in unserem Linkarchiv zum Podcast findet. An dieser Stelle nochmals ein Dankeschön an Wei-ju für seine Mühe.
Unser zweiter Interviewpartner Costel Mincea wurde erst kürzlich als dritter Geschäftsführer von Hyperion bekannt gegeben. Ebenfalls per Skype zugeschaltet, hat er uns Rede und Antwort gestanden.
Zusätzlich beantwortete er auch noch Userfragen aus dem OS4Welt-Forum die dort vorab in einem Thread gestellt wurden.

Großes Sommerupdate von 17 Hollywood-Plugins
Pressemitteilung: Von wegen Sommerloch! Für alle Hollywood-User holt Airsoft Softwair diesen Sommer mit dem größten Plugin-Update in der Hollywood-Geschichte zum großen Rundumschlag aus! Von insgesamt 17 Plugins stehen ab sofort neue Versionen zum Download bereit. Durch die vielen von Hollywood unterstützten Plattformen bedeutet dies, dass über 200 neue Binaries kompiliert werden mussten, die insgesamt über 50 Megabyte einnehmen. Insbesondere Freunde des Raspberry Pi werden sich über diese Updates freuen, da alle Plugins jetzt auch für Linux ARM vorliegen, welches seit Hollywood 6.0 unterstützt wird.

MorphOS: Calimero 0.16
Carsten Siegners noch in Entwicklung befindliche Textverarbeitung Calimero ermöglicht in der Betaversion 0.16 das freie Erstellen von Vektorgrafiken. Diese können von Hand gezeichnet, aus vorgegebenen Strukturen zusammengesetzt oder auf Grundlage einer Rastergrafik erzeugt und anschließend im SVG-Format gespeichert sowie später zur Weiterbearbeitung auch wieder geladen werden.
Ein Screenshot zeigt die neue Funktion "Custom Object". Die dargestellte Rastergrafik wurde anschließend in eine Vektorgrafik umgewandelt (herz.svg).

Allwöchentlich fasst Krzysztof 'Deadwood' Śmiechowicz die jüngsten Fortschritte der AROS-Programmierer zusammen. Diesmal wurde u.a. die Unterstützung von VSprites mit einer Tiefe von mehr als 8 Bit eingeführt.
Week of July 6th:
- intuition.library/PrintIText() no longer crashes if passed a null string pointer (jmcmullan)
- VSprites with depths greater than 8 bits are now supported (jmcmullan)
- Romanian language support has been added (polluks)

Die diesjährige Auflage des "Amiga Meetings in Bad Bramstedt" findet vom 16. bis zum 18. Oktober statt, wie letztes Jahr wieder im großen Festsaal des Hotels. Die Preis für die Teilnahme liegen zwischen 5 Euro für den Tagesgast bis zu 96 Euro für die Vollteilnahme Fr. bis Sonntag (inkl.
