Desktop Publishing: RNO Publisher für alle Amiga-Systeme
Der mit Hollywood erstellte 'RNO Publisher' ist eine einfache DTP-Anwendung: Der Anwender erstellt ein- oder mehrseitige Dokumente und kann dort Textboxen, Bilder und andere graphische Objekte sowie Verknüpfungen frei platzieren - das Resultat wird dann in eine PDF-Datei exportiert. Ein mit dem Programm erstelltes Beispiel-PDF ist auf der Webseite des Programmierers verfügbar.
Der Autor bewirbt den RNO Publisher mit folgenden Eigenschaften:
- Unterstützt die gängigsten Seitenformate im Hoch- und Querformat
- Frei platzierbare Textboxen, Bilder, PDF-Verknüpfungen und graphische Objekte
- PDF-Verknüpfungen können auf andere Seiten im Dokument oder Webadressen verweisen
- Nutzt PDF-Standard-Schriftarten, die die Größe des PDF-Dokuments nicht beeinflussen
- Weitere TTF-Schriftarten können im Dokument eingebettet werden
- Unterstützung für PDF-Outlines (Inhaltsverzeichnis)
- Vom Anwender definierbare Seitenvorlagen
- PDF-Export unterstützt Passwort-Schutz und Verschlüsselung

MorphOS: Iris-Betaversion 91 mit verifiziertem GMail-Zugriff
Jacek 'jacadcaps' Piszczeks "Iris" soll künftig das Standard-E-Mail-Programm von MorphOS werden. Es unterstützt IMAP und kann HTML-E-Mails sowohl anzeigen als auch erstellen.
Mit der Betaversion 91 ist Iris hinsichtlich der Nutzung der GMail-IMAP-Schnittstelle nun auch von Google verifiziert, sodass die Sicherheitswarnungen und Einschränkungen beim Konfigurieren von GMail-Benutzerkonten der Vergangenheit angehören.

Interface XXVII in Kiel am 15.08.2020
Sven Scheele schreibt: Am Samstag, dem 15. August 2020, findet die Retro-Computer-Veranstaltung "Interface" in Schwentinental bei Kiel statt. Veranstalter sind wie gehabt der Vintage Computer Club (VCC), der Amiga-Club Schleswig-Holstein (ACSH) und der Computer-Club Klausdorf (CCK). Aufgrund der Corona-Einschränkungen gibt es folgende Auflagen:
- Personenzahl: max 15 im DG und 9 im 1.OG
- Maskenpflicht im gesamten Haus, Ausnahme am eigenen Platz
- kein Grillen / kein Flohmarkt
- eigene Becher für Kaffee mitbringen.
- keine unverpackten Lebensmittel verteilen (z.B. Kuchen)
- WC Nutzung nur im EG
Es wird nur Personen Zutritt gewährt, die sich per E-Mail registriert und eine entsprechende Rückmeldung per E-Mail erhalten haben.
Erneut stehen zwei große Räume (über zwei Etagen) zur Verfügung. Der Raum im 1. OG kann wieder als "Werkstatt" für Hardware-Projekte (Reparaturen und ähnliches) genutzt werden, und das Dachgeschoss bietet ausreichend Platz zum Fachsimpeln und Spielen an den mitgebrachten Rechnern und Konsolen. Steckdosenleisten und Netzwerkkabel müssen von den Teilnehmern mitgebracht werden.
Offizieller Beginn ist 14 Uhr, ab ca. 12 Uhr beginnt das Organisationsteam mit dem Aufbau der Tische usw. Veranstaltungsort ist das Jugendhaus Klausdorf, Dorfstraße 101 in 24222 Schwentinental (Ortsteil Klausdorf) (cg)

FreePascal 3.2.0a für alle Amiga-Systeme auf offiziellem Server
Doch noch ein Update seiner Amiga-Portierung der Programmiersprache FreePascal hat Marcus 'ALB42' Sackrow veröffentlicht.
Die Version 3.2.0a basiert auf Hinweisen von Károly 'chainq' Balogh, in deren Folge die Versionen für AmigaOS 3.x, AmigaOS 4, MorphOS und AROS (i386, ARM) wie angestrebt auf der offiziellen Download-Seite Einzug gehalten haben. (snx)

Die zu 100% nutzlose AROS-Distribution 0.2
Mit der Version 0.2 sei seine AROS-Distribution vielleicht bloß noch zu 99% nutzlos, überlegt Marcus 'ALB42' Sackrow unter dem Titellink. Ihr zugrunde liegt eine Fassung von AROS64 aus der Zeit vor der SMP-Einführung.
Neben eigenen Programmen sind auch weitere enthalten, das FreePascal-IDE allerdings stürzt beim Kompilieren noch ab, hier muss man insofern die Shell bemühen. (snx)

Präsentationen, Slideshows, Spiele und Anwendungen. Nach acht Jahren Entwicklungszeit wurde Version 5.0 vor wenigen Wochen veröffentlicht.
Das vollständige Handbuch zu Hollywood Designer 5.0 ist nun für jedermann auf der offiziellen Webseite einsehbar, sowohl als HTML- als auch als PDF-Version. Beide Dokumente enthalten zudem zahlreiche Screenshots, um die Benutzung des Programms besser zu illustrieren. Außerdem enthält das Handbuch ein detailliertes Protokoll der Änderungen, sodass nun ganz einfach nachgelesen werden kann, was genau sich zwischen Hollywood Designer 4.0 (2012) und Version 5.0 (2020) geändert hat.
Schließlich steht das vollständige Handbuch von Hollywood Designer 5.0 nun auch in deutscher Version zur Verfügung, die vom Übersetzungs-Dreamteam Dominic Widmer und Helmut Haake erstellt wurde. Dabei haben die Übersetzer selbst alle Screenshots durch deutsche Versionen ersetzt! Die deutsche Übersetzung steht neben HTML- und PDF-Versionen auch als ZIP-Archiv zur Verfügung, die das Handbuch im AmigaGuide-Format enthält. Benutzer, die Hollywood Designer 5.0 schon installiert haben, können die englische AmigaGuide-Datei einfach durch die deutsche Version ersetzen, damit auch das Hollywood Designer 5.0-Livehilfesystem in deutscher Sprache erscheint. MorphOS: Video-Player MPlayer 1.4.0 mit HTTPS-Unterstützung

Datatype für WebP: WarpWebP.datatype 45.1
Oliver Roberts hat seine Sammlung an Warp-Datatypes um einen neuen Typen ergänzt, der das noch recht junge Bildformat WebP anzeigen kann. Der Datatype basiert auf Googles libwebp 1.1.0, es stehen Versionen für AmigaOS 3/4, WarpOS und MorphOS zur Verfügung. Eine Grafikkarte wird nicht benötigt. (cg)

MorphOS: E-Mail-Client Iris, Betaversion 85
Jacek 'jacadcaps' Piszczeks "Iris" soll künftig das Standard-E-Mail-Programm von MorphOS werden. Es unterstützt IMAP und kann HTML-E-Mails sowohl anzeigen als auch erstellen. Unter anderem zeigt Iris nun GMail-Threads an, zudem wurde die automatische Einrichtung von E-Mail-Konten deutlich verbessert, insbesondere bei GMail-verwalteten Domänen und Yahoo.
Für Rückmeldungen an den Autor kann die entsprechende MorphZone-Diskussion zum Thema genutzt werden. (snx)

Dateimanager: MCAmiga 0.4
Im Rahmen seiner Beschäftigung mit dem von ihm portierten FreePascal-Compiler hat sich Marcus 'ALB42' Sackrow der Video-Einheit hinsichtlich der Veränderung von Fenstergrößen zugewandt. Konkret erfolgt dies an einer Dateimanager-Implementation nach dem Vorbild des Norton Commanders.
Letzterer liegt für alle Amiga-Systeme nun in der Version 0.4 vor. (snx)

AmigaOS 4/AROS/MorphOS: Atomic Bomberman Fan Remake 2.5
Daniel 'Daytona675x' Müßeners Atomic Bomberman Fan Remake ist, wie der Name bereits darlegt, eine Überarbeitung der gleichnamigen Bomberman-Variante für Windows aus dem Jahr 1997. Entsprechend werden die Dateien der Originalfassung benötigt. Auch hier gilt es also, Hindernisse sowie letztlich die bis zu neun Gegenspieler mittels Bomben in die Luft zu jagen.
Zu den Verbesserungen zählen, dass es neben den Amigasystemen auch auf aktuellen Windowsversionen wieder läuft, dass USB-Eingabegeräte genutzt, bis zu zehn Spieler an einem Gerät aktiv werden können und die Spielmodi überarbeitet wurden - sowie, dass es aus aktuellem Anlass mittlerweile auch eine Netzwerkunterstützung gibt. Hierbei spielt das verwendete Betriebssystem der jeweiligen Teilnehmer keine Rolle, es müssen lediglich alle dieselbe Versionsnummer des Spiels installiert haben.

- Punch animation is now played no matter if there's a bomb to punch
away or not. This was a minor difference to the original game.
This behaviour has one benefit: you can easily check if you still got
the puncher... Thanks to Valentin for reporting!
- Team mode: original player colors are now being used during the first
seconds of a match before they are being switched to white / red team
colors. Before you had a hard time figuring out who you were...
- Somewhat adjusted explosion segment offsets, those were a bit off.
Well, they still are, but less than in the original and less than before.
The thing is: unbelievable but true, they are totally off in the original:
it's all shifted by some useless pixels to the right and some asset the
segments often simply don't fit well.
- Explosion-animations are now repeated once and played at twice the
speed. Closer to the original
- Detail: if you have the kicker you cannot stop kicked bombs with
the 2nd button anymore if you also got the jelly!
- New disease: swap player position with a random opponent.
For whatever reasons I forgot about this one, saw it in a Youtube video
of the original game now. :)
- Disease timing modified to be more closely to the original. Especially
the duration decrease when you pass a disease has been changed:
before it was 1 sec., now the remaining disease time is cut in half for you.

- Improved texture modes, depending on your hardware. In general this
improves the playfield's and animations appearance. If possible the washed out
bilinear filtering is avoid in favor or an filtered scale2x variant.
- Some graphics, namely bricks, use purple as a transparency indicator.
However, for some this color-key is slightly off, so that here and there
a single purple pixel remains. Was very well visible for the lilys in
that trampoline world. The purple-check is now somewhat fuzzy so that
stuff like that is gone.
- Windows users: the game will ask for UAC rights elevation to create a
new set of patched decrunched assets.
- Angel death animation: angel now flying upwards. :)
- Death animations fade out on last frame, simply looks better than those
original abrupt endings.
- Extras explanation screen: extra-icons now without bilinear washed out
filter look.
- For upcoming updates the online update mechanism has changed. Before the
game would only check for an update once per day. Now it does always on
startup. The reason is that for an online session all players have to be on
the same update level...
- Teleporter sound effects added.
- Trampoline sound effects added.
- Many more generic extra-pickup voice-overs added.
- Many more hurry voice-overs added.
- Many more frag taunt voice-overs added.
- Sound when punching a bomb.
- Sound when picking up bomb.
- Sound when a thrown bomb is bouncing around.
- Generic disease voice-overs added.
- Poops sounds added.
- Even more sounds added. :P
- New sound effects manager to gracefully handle this giant amount of sounds
even on low end hardware.
- Put original's dedicated tune in the waiting-for-net-players screen.
- Optimization: extra color analyzation to avoid creation of sometimes
rather useless secondary textures (useless in terms of: you won't spot
the difference...) -> less VRAM used, faster texture generation step.
- Optimization: if the hardware supports it, the game will now create
and cache NPOT textures, which means less VRAM used and faster texture
generation.
- Optimization: tuned texture atlas generation parameters for the different
atlas types (animation, world preview, playfield, extras).
Makes quite a difference, until now all used the most effective but most
costly variant best suited for the animations, which is overkill for the
other variants.
- Optimization: texture atlas creation moved to the initial startup phase.
- Textures now with premultiplied alpha if the hardware supports it
(should be pretty much all but Compositing). Above all this gets rid of
those little filtering artefacts here and there.

MorphOS: TopTasks-Screenbar-Plugin 1.4
TopTasks.sbar ist ein Screenbar-Plugin für MorphOS, das den Task anzeigt, der momentan die meiste CPU-Zeit in Anspruch nimmt.
Klickt man es an, dann wird ein Fenster geöffnet, in dem die diesbezüglichen Top-10-Tasks angezeigt werden. Auch der Verlauf der Top-Tasks der letzten 100 Sekunden wird vom Plugin dargestellt.
Changes:
- Shows Niceness, Process ID (PID) and age of each task in the top tasklist
- Now also shows running/sleeping, created/finished and average CPU load below the tasklist
- Strings in top task list entries context menu items (priority, break, etc.) are now localized too

Bildanzeiger: Videntium Picta 2.30
Videntium Picta ist ein Bildanzeiger mit einfachen Bildbearbeitungs- und Dateimanager-Funktionen der mit Hollywood entwickelt wurde. Neu in Version 1.10 sind Einstellungen für die Bildqualität bei vergrößerter Darstellung. In der neuesten Version werden die Text-Optionen jetzt in Echtzeit aktualisiert, ein Neustart der Anwendung ist nicht mehr nötig. Außerdem wird die gewünschte Sprache jetzt per Menü-Eintrag gewählt, nicht mehr per Toolbar-Knopf. (cg)
