StateDisplay Tool für AmiStart
Das statedisplay.tool ist eine Erweiterung, um in AmiStart auf der TaskLeiste Bilder anzuzeigen. Damit kann man u. a. diverse Zustände anzeigen, z.

(ps)

MorphOS: Strategie-Engine Stratagus 2.1 (CVS-Snapshot)
(cg)

Editor's Thoughts and Introduction:
 As we finish the first month of the new year and fight off cabin
fever in the northern half of the world, at least we have a lot of
Amiga news to keep our minds busy. A number of the items this time
round come from the OS 4.0 Depot, showing a reassuring level of
support from the community. Thanks to all who are involved in these
efforts, and please keep these packages coming!
 Less reassuring is the vanishing of all new hardware. I don't know
why that has happened, but as indicated last month, that has been
given as the reason there is no final version of the OS. We agree that
it certainly wouldn't be a good thing to offer the OS to the world
when there's no hardware available to run it on. The most obvious
reason for such a state of affairs is that no one can make enough
money selling the hardware to make it worth while to build it. Of
course, one thing that should improve sales is a completed OS. What we
have here is what some programmers might call a "lock condition".
 The best way out is for someone to work out a hardware/OS package
combination that can be put together with minimum risk of money, and
get it on the market soon. We think there are people working on this.
We hope so, and wish all the luck in the world to anyone trying to put
together such a deal.
 Finally, we should take note of a sad event in the Amiga community.
We have received word that the first registered Amiga Users' Group,
the Northwest Amiga Group, has folded. There will be some follow on
activities but the group itself, which held registration number 1 from
Commodore, is gone. While this is indeed a loss, it has been noted by
others that there still remain a number of active groups around the
world, most of which weren't in existence when NAG was formed. In some
ways this can be seen as a changing of the guard as user groups come
and user groups go. Still, it's always sad to see a piece of the
community with such a historical importance vanish. We wish the former
members well. We have some thoughts from the group's blog below.
 Brad Webb,
 Editor
----------------------------------------------------------------------
E-mail to the E-ditor:

 The following note was received in response to last month's
newsletter's Thoughts and Introduction:

"Rogue: As you have probably already guessed, there will be no
OS 4 release this year....You can read the entire set of transcripts
at www.amigaworld.net.
 Let's hope the situation with hardware availability can be set right
soon. What a great event for the new year it would be if we could
see the release, finally, of OS4!..."

I no longer keep either of my Amigas running (I think either would,
if I put some effort into it), but I continue to follow the ongoing
drama with great interest. I was a little surprised that you presented
this topic in the way you did---as if there were only bad news to
report. I would have thought that you would have included the fact
that there will be a prerelease 4 shortly that will be virtually
complete and that Hyperion is working with new (and likely) sources
for hardware. That is, for all practical purposes OS4 is here. Yes,
you gave the link to the transcript(s), but that additional
information strikes me as an essential part of the story, particularly
for those who might be relying upon you as their primary source of
Amiga news. From the follow-up chat, I would say that the community
was generally positive about the news from the session. Your summary
would lead people to expect otherwise.

Anyway, thanks as always for pulling together these summaries of the
key stories affecting Amiga fans. The newsletter must be welcome for
those who haven't the time or inclination to deal with all the rumor-
mongering and distractions that cloud the scene and just want to get
to the essentials.

Happy New Year.
Henry
~~~~~~
 Henry,
 You make very good points, so I wanted the readership to see your
note. However, as you point out, you aren't using your existing
Amigas, presumably because they're outdated. And of course you can't
buy a new one right now. We've been waiting and waiting for OS 4.0 and
we have to wait some more. It is not a good situation and it seems to
have gotten worse with the vanishing of what hardware there was. As I
noted in my introduction this time, I hope someone can resolve the
impasse soon.
 At this point, I think the appropriate attitude has to be one of
'when it's really here, then it's really here and we can celebrate,
otherwise it's still vaporware'. OK, that's probably too harsh. Not
really vaporware but beta-ware. We have a lot of that in the Amiga
community. You cannot have more than a hobbiest level computing system
that way. We can be at that level with the existing classic Amiga, as
those who love to play with other vintage computers already are with
C64s and the like. (Nothing wrong with that, by the way, as a number
of vintage computers at "AU World Headquarters" atest.) We're so close
to the finish line, it hurts to see anything slow the effort down. And
while it is worrisome, note I didn't forcast the end of the Amiga
community in my comments, just pointed out the lack of hardware is an
issue. It remains an issue, but let's hope it's a short lived one.
 Finally, please don't forget that the "Editor's Thoughts and
Introduction" are an editorial, not a part of the news content of the
newsletter. I will mention news there from time to time, especially in
the case of very short items without enough substance for a story, but
it's an interpretation of the current Amiga scene more than anything
else. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong when predicting the
future. Right now, I still see a bright future, but we have to get
past the full release of OS 4 first. The folks writing it didn't hold
it back without good reason, as they rightly pointed out.
 Regards,
 Brad
Northwest Amiga Group {From their blog. Brad}
So if you did not hear, NAG is officially dead. This was not due to
lack of interest, though that definitely played a factor, since we no
longer had anyone willing to volunteer for BOD positions. Geoff has
expressed an interest in continuing to host a monthly Amiga DTP
meeting, and I will continue to maintain this and the Journal websites
as long as possible. There will always be interest for Amiga, and we
can certainly keep in touch via this website, etc. for Amiga news.
We still have a lot of logistics to take care of which will take
several months, I will dedicate what little spare time I have leftover
to maintaining the website and creating a monthly newsletter/magazine.
Obviously I will change the name, as legally I cannot use Northwest
Amiga Group anymore, but I will continue to promote Amiga as long as
there is interest. (Point in case - we had a Journal subscription
payment last week.)
 T E A M W O R K   G E T S   B R A I N T E A S E R   R E L E A S E D
January 23, 2006 - San Francisco, CA. – Today, Amiga, Inc. and Kaliko
Entertainment released Brainteaser for all devices running
AmigaAnywhere.
This innovative production brings all of the addictive challenges of
leading puzzle games to the most popular digital devices. Amiga makes
it simple for all users to play Brainteaser on their most frequently
used devices – PCs, TVs, mobile phones, media players, memory cards
and more. The combination of Amiga’s cross platform digital
environment with the recent surge of smarter mobile devices and
enhanced cable systems now brings arcade-quality applications to a
previously constrained market.
In the mobile games market alone, the puzzle games category has the
largest share of revenue, claiming 27.1% of revenues, according to
Telephia. Brainteaser is a classic puzzle game demanding skill and
dexterity as players try to connect animated tiles of the same type
into groups - all before these tiles fill the screen. Kaliko continues
to provide a high quality gaming experience in Brainteaser by
contrasting a serene setting of images and classical music against
players that frantically race against time to strategically align
images in the most critical locations. Brainteaser is similar in
gameplay to Bejeweled and Alchemy - market leading games that have
produced millions of hours of gameplay.
"Amiga is focused on providing a simple means for all users to enjoy
the best selling media anytime, anywhere and on any device", said
Vince Pfeifer, director of product development. "Brainteaser's superb
graphics, gameplay and market appeal add great value to our
portfolio."
"Amiga quickly brings our applications to a variety of devices,
opening up a variety of channels for Brainteaser", said Fredrik
Schultz, founder of Kaliko Entertainment. "The simplicity of their
development environment and their ability to run high performance
applications with intense graphics made Amiga the right choice for
Brainteaser."
Brainteaser is immediately available for WinCE-based mobile devices,
including PocketPC and SmartPhone, and will soon be available for
Linux and Symbian-based devices, set top boxes, personal multimedia
devices and PCs.
8-Jan-2006
Airsoft Softwair is proud to announce that the biggest update in
Hollywood history is now available. Hollywood 2.0 is a massive update
with endless new features. The program and its documentation have
almost doubled in size. Here is a brief overview of the major new
features of Hollywood 2.0 but there are tons more:
* Programming language: Hollywood has a completely new, state-of-the-
art 64-bit script language which is dynamically typed and thus,
extremely flexible.
* Sprites: Hollywood now offers a fully featured sprite library that
is implemented completely in software. Hence, there are no limitations
in sprite size, frames, colors and so on. With sprites, a lot of cool
things are possible.
* Music library: The new music library allows playback of MP3 files
and Protracker modules. Ptahiplay.library is no longer required!
* AROS support: Hollywood is now available for the i386 version of the
Amiga Research Operating System AROS. On AROS native, Hollywood 2.0
gives a stunning performance on modern PCs. Additionally, AROS support
means that you can compile x86 native AROS executables also from
MorphOS, AmigaOS3 or 4 now.
* Antialias: Antialiasing is now fully implemented for TrueType fonts
on all systems. Drawing routines are very fast even on 68k because of
highly-optimized code.
* Powerful scheduler: Hollywood's new, powerful scheduler allows you
to create exactly timed scripts which run at the same speed on every
system.
* Alpha channel support: Hollywood supports graphics with an alpha
channel now. Thus, it supports graphics with up to 32-bits per pixel
now. Highly optimized drawing routines give excellent results even on
68k systems.
* Clip regions: Hollywood provides powerful clipping functions now
that allow you to clip your graphics even to custom shaped regions
(like circles, rectangles with round edges and so on).
* Collision detection: Fast pixel-exact collision detection is now
offered. Even alpha channel information is taken into account by the
collision detection!
* New off-screen rendering functions: All graphics calls can be used
now to render to brush masks and alpha channels, too. Paves the way
for unique special effects!
* New GUI: The GUI has been completely rewritten and is much more
functional now. It has a showcase that lists all the examples that
come with Hollywood and also has screenshots and information about
them.
* New examples: Hollywood 2.0 comes with over 15 cool new examples
that demonstrate the new features. Hollywood has now over 45 examples
in total.
* Dramatic speed improvements: The image processing functions are up
to 10 times faster now on WarpOS because the PPC is used now for
everything! The drawing library is also much faster now.
* Layer improvements: When removing layers, Hollywood will now use
special undo effects which work just the other way round. Furthermore,
layers can be given names now. This makes it much easier to work with
them because the names do not change like the ids! Finally, anim
layers are possible now.
* DOS functions: Hollywood 2.0 brings many new DOS functions including
a powerful CopyFile() function which can copy whole directories and is
customizable through a callback function.
* New button library: A much more flexible button library has
superseded the old one. The new button library calls functions instead
of labels and has more features!
* Sample library: The PlaySample() command offers many more options
now and can trigger OnSampleEnd and OnSampleLoop events for perfect
script timing!
* Doublebuffer: Hollywood 2.0 has functions for setting up a double
buffered display. Double buffer scaling is fully implemented.
* Drawing library: All commands of the draw library can draw alpha-
blended graphics now, too. Additionally, there are some new functions
like Arc() which draws a partial ellipse, and FloodFill() which fills
a bordered region with a color.
* Compiler: The Hollywood compiler has been completely rewritten and
is more configurable now. You can embed version strings and more
information in your executables. It is also possible to fix the
settings of your compiled scripts; for instance, you can create an
executable that will only run in full screen mode.
* New fillstyles: All drawing functions can use additional fill
styles. Hollywood supports the fill styles 'gradient' and 'texture'
now.
* Image export: You can now save your brushes to files and also save
snapshots of your script from within Hollywood!
* Independence: Hollywood does no longer require the guigfx.library,
render.library, and ptahiplay.library.
* Full 1.x compatibility: Although the kernel has been completely
exchanged, Hollywood 2.0 is fully compatible with the previous
versions. All your scripts should run fine with Hollywood 2.0, and
Hollywood Designer and Malibu do not need any updates, either.
Starting with Hollywood 2.0, the program does no longer work on
systems without a graphics board. A hi/true color screenmode is now
required. Hollywood comes on a CD-ROM that contains versions for all
supported platforms: There are native versions of the program for
AmigaOS3, WarpOS, MorphOS, AmigaOS4 and for the first time AROS
(i386). A download version is also offered. If you already own
Hollywood 1.x, you can buy a discounted upgrade version.
Hollywood 2.0 is Airsoft Softwair's definite Multimedia experience
(Code name: Vision.1) and was given 10 of 10 points throughout by all
of its beta testers. On top of all those features, Hollywood also has
a cross-compiler which allows you to save executables for any platform
that Hollywood supports. For example, AROS users can save AmigaOS4
executables with Hollywood. Or MorphOS users can save WarpOS
executables and so on. Hollywood is the ultimate bridge between all
those different AmigaOS compatible platforms! With Hollywood, you can
support them all. Please visit the Airsoft Softwair web page for
screenshots and a complete feature list of Hollywood. You can also
order Hollywood 2.0 at the Airsoft Softwair web page -
{Found at www.amigaworld.net. Support that site, it's excellend! Brad}
After long and hard work which is silly really as this is the most
simplist type of game to make, finally the game Wuzzi is complete for
release. Wuzzi is a board game that represents a tic tac toe with one
exception you have to form five lines instead of 3 and this is a two
player game only.
Many thanks goes to Jahc (heheh, I just love teasing that guy),
fishy_fis (that brain this guy have, * smouch * just full of knowledge
oh baby yeah), for helping me from sticky places and pushing me
through - thanks guys.
Many thanks goes for tonsofpcs for providing me the graphics I needed.
While the game is complete, tonsofpcs has a new set of graphics that
will replace the one included. If you don't like the graphics provided
within the game, you can replace it with your very own, with of course
certain exceptions. It is 5-bit apparently, so be careful as sometimes
the colors will not come out as you expected, like fishy_fis said
"Your code is a mess." ;)
I wanted to contribute to the community and finally I did, phew, I
feel relaxed now. Have fun all and please tell me of any bugs you
find. If you want me to further develop the software with new
enhancements please tell me, I wouldn't mind. If you want further
features, better level design, etc, I don't mind at all, even have an
option menu, who knows. But I wouldn't bother do it until you all the
millions of bosses out there tell me so, so I don't end up wasting my
time and effort doing something and in the end it is not going to be
used.
If you wish to email me you can do so via my email address at
AmiKit is the compilation of the best Amiga (free/shareware) programs
around. To be brief, AmiKit is all you need if you want to experience
a high-end Classic Amiga system. It contains many expansions and
add-ons (more than 20.000 files are included in AmiKit!) that turn the
default AmigaOS installation into a completely renewed and fresh
environment. This pre-configured package is designed for immediate use
DESCRIPTION OF NEW SOFTWARE IN v1.04 UPDATE
"STFax 4" is a multi-purpose voice/fax/data communications package.
It's is a phone, answer-machine, facsimile, mini-BBS and c
ommunications server. STFax 4 offers scalability, adapting to the home
user needing a simple answer/fax machine replacement, through to a
company requiring automated fax and voice message distribution across
small network of computers. Enhanced flexibility also enables a
travelling businessman to install onto his notebook, connect his GSM
phone and send/receive a fax, receive/reply/send an SMS message,
write/send/receive email or even remotely access the local STFax 4,
situated within the office. Author: Simone Tellini.
"DigiCoverter" is used to convert numbers between decimal,
hexadecimal, binary, floating point... You can also type in letters
and see their ASCII-codes or type numbers and see characters. Author:
Daniel Westerberg.
"GuardAmy" is extremely useful if you want to know which of your
favourite websites have been changed since your last visit without a
need to check them all again manually. Author: Diego 'dx0' de Felice.
"Tree" lists the directory structure in a tree-form. You can use it
within Directory Opus Magellan II, hold down the right mouse button
over a directory and select "Show Tree". Note that scanning through a
deep directory structure may take some time before the result is
displayed. Author: Frank Brandis.
"KingCON" patch updates the well-known but old KingCON 1.3 handler to
version 1.7. Besides many various fixes, this CON replacement now
supports the mouse wheel! Author: Mikolaj Calusinski
"console.device" and "MultiView" are another unofficial patches of
original OS3.9 files. You can install them by clicking the Taskbar ->
Tools -> Install Patches. Author: Mikolaj Calusinski.
...and much more, see the downloads page!
Note that new programs have been added to your AmiStart taskbar as
well, thanks to Peter Keunecke!
Here is a port of the popular game Frozen Bubble, written by
Guillaume Cottenceau et al in perl using the SDL_perl extention.
See http://www.frozen-bubble.org for more info.
This port is for amigaos4 and requires perl 5.8.5.04 perl 5.8.5 (4th
amiga os4 release with dynamic loading and POSIX extention). It will
not work with any earlier version of perl for amigaos4. {Find it at
http://www.os4depot.net/ Brad.} It incorporates a  special build of
SDL_perl which combines the SDL_perl with the fb_c_stuff modules.
(This gets arround a problem where the two need to interact on a level
my current dynamic loading implementatuion doesn't allow), [please
note if you want SDL_perl for something else, please wait for a short
while, don't use this version....]
This port stores all it configs (.fbrc .fblevels etc) in bubbles:
(or /bubbles in unix parlance). The provided start script "fb" sets up
and removes the assign for you. If you wish to run from the command
line "by hand" you will need to add it your self.
UPDATE:
o relink against older SDL, music and sound problems fixed.
o increased sound buffer size to 4096 as recomended by toaks.
o found a few more instances of $ENV{HOME} replaced them with
/bubbles.
o added a timidity config to stop SDL from looking for it in
/usr/local/lib I suspect though that it's not actually used.
These changes should get most of the glitches people were getting.
Installation:
Just unpack to the destination of your choice.
To run:
Click on the icon or....
make an assign bubbles: to the directory where you unpacked the game.
start abc-shell
cd /bubbles
launch perl as follows
perl -I blib/lib -I blib/arch frozen-bubble <any frozen bubble
options>
Known bugs:
Fullscreen mode does not work.
Have fun
This update will allow CyberGraphX4 owners to use CVision3D/CVision64/
PicassoIV drivers with MorphOS on dual boot setups.
Above cards have been successfully tested with PowerUp MorphOS1.4.5
and A4000T/CSPPC, other drivers might work as well.
Attention: MorphOS 1.4.5 contains a faulty hal.com1 which does not map
CVision3D cards properly in ZorroIII mode. People who like to use
CVision3D with MorphOS should replace the file roms/hal.com1 by the
one found at the cgx site ! This file only needs to be replaced if you
own a CVision3D and use PowerUp MorphOS 1.4.5 !
WarpView
Description:     A fast Image Viewer using Warp3D
Download:     warpview.lha
Version:     0.8
Date:     01 Jan 06
Author:     Stephen Fellner
Submitter:     Stephen Fellner
Email:     sf amiga/gmail com
Requirements:     AmigaOS4.0, Warp3D
Category:     graphics/viewer
Replaces:     graphics/viewer/warpview.lha
License:     Freeware
Distribute:     yes
FileID:     1478
WarpView is an image wiewer which uses Warp3D to display the images.
The advantage of using Warp3D is fast high quality scaling.
Changes in this version:
- Added Copy, Move and Delete options to allow easy file sorting
- Fixed a bug which caused a crash when the file requester was
  cancelled on  startup
- Implemented "Enlarge To Fit" and "Shrink to Fit" options (available
  via menu, command line options and icon tooltypes)
- When zoomed in, scroll step is now larger to allow faster scrolling
  with the mouse
- Fixed a bug which sometimes caused the rotation/zoom mode to stay
  enabled even after releasing the qualifier keys
WarpView uses the datatype system of AmigaOS to load the images. This
way all popular image formats can be viewed (IFF-ILBM, JPEG, PNG,
etc.) if you have the datatypes installed.
WarpView is FREEWARE and is my gift to the Amiga community. If you
like it you are welcome to tell me about it, however please do not
bomb me with feature requests. I will keep improving WarpView, but my
bigger projects have higher priority.
WarpView requires AmigaOS4 and a Radeon graphics card.
You should have a lot of free graphics memory, otherwise you'll have
problems, especially viewing high resolution images.
"Aufgrund unerwartet vieler Anmeldungen (ca. 15) von Usern, die ihre Rechner zum Treffen am Samstag in Kiel mitbringen wollen, sind inzwischen alle Plätze belegt. Da wir diesesmal nur begrenzte Räumlichkeiten zur Verfügung haben, können wir leider keine weiteren Anmeldungen mehr annehmen.
Wir werden versuchen für das Treffen im 2. Quartal 2006 wieder größere Räumlichkeiten zu bekommen und hoffen dann auf ähnlich postive Resonanz". (cg)
AROS: Status-Update Januar 2006
In seinem jüngsten Status-Update fasst Paolo Besser die Entwicklungen des zurückliegenden Monats rund um die freie AmigaOS-Reimplementation AROS zusammen.
So wurden etwa die Eingabe-Voreinsteller für die Maus durch Georg Steger hinsichtlich der Mausverfolgung und Zeigerpräzision auf dem Bildschirm verbessert. Derweil erstellten Nick Andrews und Jack Patton IRC- und Telnet-Clients für AROS und Michal Schulz steuerte zur gehosteten Version ein .tap-Schnittstellen-HIDD für alle Unix-Ziele bei.
Des weiteren hat Mathias Rustler ein kleines Programm namens ExecuteStartup erstellt, das jegliche Applikation ausführt, die in die WBStartup-Schublade kopiert wird, und zudem die AROS-Dokumentation für Anwender und Entwickler aktualisiert. (snx)
Denkspiel: Sudoku 1.0
Michael Lanser hat Sudoku, ein sich auch hierzulande zunehmender Popularität erfreuendes Denkspiel, für den Amiga umgesetzt. Vorausgesetzt werden AmigaOS 3.1 und eine Grafikkarte; das Spiel liegt in deutscher und englischer Sprache vor.
Beim japanischen Zahlenpuzzle Sudoku ist ein Quadrat in 3×3 Unterquadrate eingeteilt, von denen jedes erneut 3×3 Felder aufweist. Einige dieser 81 Felder weisen bereits Zahlen von 1 bis 9 auf. Bei der Vervollständigung darf in jeder Zeile, in jeder Spalte und in jedem der neun Blöcke jede Ziffer von 1 bis 9 nur einmal auftreten. (snx)
AfA: AROS für AmigaOS 3.92
AROS für AmigaOS (AfA), ein Projekt zur Erweiterung des AmigaOS 3.x durch Rückportierung neuerer AROS-Funktionen, hat ein Update auf Version 3.92 erfahren.
Die neue Version bietet eine Beschleunigung der Icon-Zeichnung bei hoher Anzahl von Piktogrammfarben. Standardmäßig ist diese FastIcon-Option ausgeschaltet. Bei Aktivierung dieser neuen AfA-Voreinstellung ist ein Neustart erforderlich. Getestet wurde die Funktion lediglich unter AGA und Picasso96 - um Rückmeldungen zu etwaigen Problemen unter CyberGraphX wird gebeten.
Als zweite Neuerung wurde den AfA-Voreinstellungen eine SaferSystem-Option hinzugefügt, die das An- und Ausschalten der Exec-Schutzfunktionen (auch während des Betriebs) zwecks Absturzsicherheit oder eben Kompatibilität ermöglicht. Standardmäßig ist auch diese Option deaktiviert. (snx)
Alinea Computer: AmiPhoto 1.2 und ANotice 2.01 erhältlich
Pressemitteilung - Wehrheim, Deutschland, den 28. Januar 2006
AmiPhoto 1.2
Seit heute ist das neue Update 1.2 für AmiPhoto erhältlich. In diesem sind wir überwiegend auf Kundenwünsche eingegangen. Sollten Sie bei uns noch nicht Kunde sein, weil Ihnen das ein oder andere Feature noch fehlt, dann kontaktieren Sie uns, wir versuchen Ihre Wünsche zu erfüllen.
Folgende zusätzliche Fähigkeiten besitzt AmiPhoto mit der Version 1.2:
  • Rotation von JPEG-Bildern
  • Springen durch Albumseiten
  • Neuer Menüpunkt: "Katalog speichern"
  • Neue Tooltypes:
    NO_APPICON: Durch dieses Merkmal wird das AppIcon auf der Workbench deaktiviert
    NO_STARTLOGO: Dieses Tooltype verhindert beim Start von AmiPhoto das Anzeigen des Logos
    VIEWER (e.g.: VIEWER="Work:Tools/MysticView"): Mithilfe dieser Zeile kann ein externer Bildanzeiger anstatt Multiview verwendet werden
  • Einige Bugfixes und interne Verbesserungen
Zudem wurde die PDF-Anleitung auf den aktuellen Stand gebracht.
Die neue Version kann von allen registrierten Kunden in unserem Downloadbereich bezogen werden. Sollten Sie noch nicht registriert sein, so können Sie dies hier tun.
ANotice 2.01
Bei diesem kleinen Update handelt es sich ausschließlich um Fehlerbereinigungen und um die Tilgung kleinerer Ungereimtheiten. Ein dickes Dankeschön geht an Remo Costantin für seinen Bugreport.
Auch wenn ANotice 2 perfekt laufen sollte, empfehlen wir dieses Update zu installieren. Es wird von uns in den nächsten Stunden an alle ANotice 2 Kunden verschickt.
Englische Seite überarbeitet
Unsere englischen Seiten sind mittlerweile komplett überarbeitet worden. Wir bedanken uns hierfür sehr herzlich bei Darren Glenn.
Neue Partnerseiten
Es freut uns sehr, dass wir die zwei neuen Partnerseiten amigaone.de sowie intuitionbase.com für uns gewinnen konnten. Mit letzterer zusammen haben wir einen Artikelwettbewerb gestartet. Wir würden uns freuen, wenn Sie an diesem kleinen Wettkampf mitwirken würden.
AmiPhoto bei Händlern
Wir möchten darauf hinweisen, dass AmiPhoto außer bei uns, noch bei unseren Handelspartnern GuruMeditation sowie GGS-Data erhältlich ist.
Neue Artikel im Shop
Unser Shop wurde mit allerhand neuen Artikeln ausgestattet, darunter sind auch Radeon Grafikkarten für Ihren AmigaOne oder Pegasos. Schauen Sie doch einfach mal in unserem Shop vorbei, vielleicht ist auch für Sie etwas dabei. (snx)
Neues von Masonicons: apageMIK u. a.
Die Seite masonicons.de, die u.a. zahlreiche Piktogramm-Sets im Glowicons-Stil anbietet, hat ein neues Design erhalten, außerdem sind einige neue Downloads verfügbar.
"apageMIK" ist ein Bausatz zum einfachen Gestalten amigaspezifischer Standard-Webseiten. Das Paket beinhaltet eine Basisumgebung zum Erstellen einer einfachen Seite um beispielweise Programme bereitzustellen. Nur ein HTML-Editor wird benötigt - das Design wird von 'apageMIK' geliefert.
Weiter sind zwei neue Wallpaper erschienen: "Dancing in the Sunshine of the Dark", inspiriert durch das gleichnamigen Lied von "Fury in the Slaughterhouse", und "The Wretched", inspiriert durch den Song der 'Nine Inch Nails'. (cg)
Programmieren: Zweite Auflage des Open Books "C von A bis Z" herunterladbar
Das inzwischen 1.116-seitige Buch "C von A bis Z" von Jürgen Wolf wird von Galileo Computing nun auch in der zweiten, aktualisierten und erweiterten Auflage wieder in HTML-Form zum Online-Lesen oder Herunterladen angeboten.
Der Einstieg in diese Programmiersprache orientiert sich an Windows sowie Linux/Unix und erstreckt sich vom unvermeidlichen "Hallo Welt" bis zu dynamischen Datenstrukturen, Algorithmen und Sicherheitsaspekten beim Programmieren. (snx)
AmigaOS 4: GNU core utilities 5.2.1-2
Die AmigaOS 4-Portierung der GNU Core Utilities liegt nun in der Version 5.2.1-2 vor. Hierbei handelt es sich um grundlegende Hilfsprogramme für die Datei-, Shell- und Textbearbeitung. Bei der aktuellen Version handelt es sich um eine Neukompilierung des bestehenden Quellkodes gegen die gegenwärtige CVS-Version der clib2.
Mit dem Update sollten nun die Probleme mit der Speicherzuweisung sowie den symbolischen Links bei Pfaden im Unix-Stil behoben sein. Die GNU Core Utilities können vorerst unter dem Titellink heruntergeladen werden und sind anschließend im Aminet bzw. OS4Depot zu finden. (snx)
Neuer Prototyp der Flash-Diskettenlaufwerksemulation
Tim Taschpulatow beschreibt unter dem Titellink im Forum von Amiga.org sein Hobbyprojekt eines emulierten Amiga-Diskettenlaufwerks unter Verwendung einer SD/MMC-Speicherkarte (amiga-news.de berichtete). Inzwischen wurde ein neuer Prototyp hergestellt (Foto).
Aktuell bereiten dem Entwickler jedoch die bisher genutzten DRAM-Chips Kopfzerbrechen, da diese nicht mehr hergestellt werden und entsprechend schwer zu bekommen sind. Daher plant er ein neues Design unter Verwendung von SIMM-Bausteinen, welches zugleich die Leistungsfähigkeit steigern würde. Weitere Details finden sich auf Russisch auch auf Amiga.org.ru. (snx)
