AmigaOS 4: Port of new edition of Battle Squadron announced
Torben Larsen of Cope-com has announced that the new edition of his Shoot'em Up classic Battle Squadron soon will be ported to AmigaOS4. For some time the game has already been sold for Android and iOS. Currently the game is tested in a solution of 1024x768.

Text processing: Rashumon source code offered
Under the title link Michael Haephrati who is the author of Rashumon has contacted the users because the Wikipedia entry might be deleted. Possibly Rashumon, which was written in 1989, was the first Amiga text processing software which supported multiple languages. Also, he offers the source code, if anybody is interested in developing it further.

Workbench complement: BetterWB 2.9
Similar to AIAB, AmiKit or AmigaSYS, BetterWB is a collection of Workbench tools for AmigaOS 3.1 which are simple and require low hardware resources.
BetterWB works on all Amigas, is available as disk images and requires the original Workbench 3.1 disks (3.0 might work as well but was not tested) and 8 MB harddrive memory.

AROS: Nano VM 3.1.0
Today Stefan Pietzonke has released version 3.1.0 of his virtual maschine Nano (amiga-news.de reported). Compared with the Linux version, Nano under AROS/x86 still has not included the JIT-compiler.

Operating system: NetBSD 6.1.1
The new stable release of NetBSD operating system is now available. Version 6.1.1 brings important security updates and bug fixes. The only Amiga specific difference from 6.1 is a bug fix related to kernel panic with Deneb cards equipped with firmware v11.

Monitor switcher: SwitchControl with experimental DPMS-support
SwitchControl is used to control different self-made monitor-switcher. In this way graphic boards without a monitor-switcher (BVision, PCI-graphic boards) can be used together with an Amiga monitor.
In the experimental version 1.1d of SwitchControl the DPMS-support was added: SwitchControl set the AGA-output to "suspend" and waits a few seconds before it switches to the graphic board. In this way perhaps some sync-problems can be fixed which may occur in the combination of Micovitec M1764, 15khz and graphic board.

AmigaOS 4: Vector drawing program MindSpace 1.2c
MindSpace is a program which can create spider diagrams and mind maps, UML, ER and use case diagrams. In version 1.2c the user-interface has been "cleaned up".
The author now explained that he is not going to develop version 2 because Sodipodi (under AmiCygnix) and AmiFig are already available as similar software.

Hometown of DMA Design put up Lemming-statues
The headquarter of the software developer of DMA Design formerly was situated in Scottish Dundee. Among others it released the famous Amiga classic Lemmings. Near the former DMA-headquarter the city administration now has put up some Lemming-statues which are trying to climb a stone column.
