The 68k version 3 of the patch system GPatch has finally been completed and put on Aminet.

There have been many improvements over the previous version: New search algorithms, new coding methods, easier execution of the patch. And for those who don't know it yet: GPatch is the only program of its kind with the ability to combine any number of difference data in one patch file in order to automatically update different older versions of a program to the newest one. more ... SN-MünzArchiv V1.4 available
The new version of SN-MünzArchiv, a program for administering coin collections, is available on Cj-Stroker's AmiForce home page.

The following items have been added/changed:
  • Added function "search, count", which provides a means for counting coins belonging to a search result (e.g. a certain collection area). A.o. number of coins, total purchase value and total value are counted.
  • Extended pre- and postfix in catalog no. by five and three characters respectively.
  • Added sales project info, showing a.o. how many coins were sold at which total price.
  • The list window can now also show the numbers of the item and sales list windows (e.g. 1999|PP:1 ST:5 SS:10|Motiv) (function had previously been imcomplete).
  • Improved handling of the setup window (now double click on list settings and the settings can be in- or decreased).
  • Other small changes.
  • Fixed bug.
Download under: muenzarchiv.lha.

Please also note the survey about the collections databases on the home page (title link). (ps) (Translation: cb)

Amiga Speed with first Voodoo4 and new Voodoo5 reviews
The gfx board Voodoo4 has been tested regarding its speed by Amiga Speed and surprises with its good performance. It even beats the Voodoo5 in most cases, which can probably be attributed to the chip design and the better drivers. However, the specifics have yet to be worked out. Please inform yourself under 2D Gfx (Voodoo4) about the current 2D performance and under Payback, Heretic2 and Q***e about the current 3D performance. The new Voodoo5 results can be found under 2D Gfx (Voodoo5) and Heretic2.

Furthermore, a new survey has been started, this time with the topic AmigaOne. (ps) (Translation: cb)

Tool: Rainboot4 in development
Rainboot4 is currently in development.

In prior versions Rainboot was only a program to show stunning demos during the Amiga's boot process. But with Version 4 it made its step to become a complete multimedia authoring system, which means that it has now a programming script language, which allows the programmer to create applications in a very easy way.

The programmer can use many of Rainboot4's functions which save him a lot of time. For example, you do not have to care if your application runs on Picasso96, Cgfx, AGA or ECS. That's Rainboot4's thing now! It does everything for you and it does it system friendly. Here's a short overview what's currently possible: more ... (sd) (Translation: cb)

Sowjet speech encryption machine for telephone and radio
Right before the summer break a software premiere: the simulation of the Sowjet speech encryption machine "Elbrus". This is a military encryption device for telephone and radio that had been used at the USSR army and the NVA of the GDR. The signal is analogue encoded using a digital code i.e. you get an encrypted audio signal that can be broadcasted directly (without modem) analogue via telephone or radio. With the program you can en-/decode own audio files (or an audio stream of the AHI device). The program should be unique in the Web and is for now exclusively available for the Amiga (68k and PPC). CD32/CDTV-Emulator for Windows: Akiko Version 1.6
Akiko 1.6, the CD32 & CDTV emulator for Windows was just released on the Airsoft Softwair homepage (title link). This version can run more games and the compatibility was increased. Additionally this version contains now a cover archive with more than 160 covers for CD32 and CDTV games (of course they've been prepared to be displayed in the Akiko GUI). Therefore there are now two different versions of Akiko for download: One version that contains all the covers (8 MB) and one version that comes without covers (1.5 MB). Akiko 1.6 can now be downloaded from the Airsoft Softwair web page.

Please have also a look into the documentation because the author need to buy some CD32 games and he still need some CDTV games for Akiko. (ps)

Inutilis Website new layouted
The netsite from Inutilis Software has been new layouted. There has been added the freeware program "PalettenTool", which might be interesting for Inga developers. With that and another additional graphic program (e. g. PPaint) there is the possibility given to calculate 24 bit graphics down to 8 bit including the option to define a part of the colour pallette by yourself (e.g. for a inventary bar).

Furthermore the online shop has been relaunched. Until now there are no new products but there are plans... (ps) (Translation: ub)
