New IRC client: BenderIRC version 1.4
The new IRC client BenderIRC is here. Full of functions and
possibilities and totally different to all IRC clients so far for the Amiga.
From CTCP to XDCC is everything here. Even the DCC SEND problem from the
locale network with IP-NAT has been solved.
What makes BenderIRC now so special? Well, the complete GUI can be set up as the
user wants it. Whether gadgets are there or not, it doesn't matter! Their size?
That doesn't matter, too! Build your own IRC client!

Game: Port of 'Software Tycoon' on it's marks
New managing game (business simulation) for Amiga
At the Amigashop of KDH Datentechnik
a new business simulation for Amiga is promoted. This one is a port of Software Tycoon,
which is at E.p.i.c. Interactive
in work. The website of Software Tycoon is reachable via the title link.
Description:
The year is 1982: Small computer-game companies are mushrooming - the new
economy opens up undreamed possibilities for creative minds. At least you
try that risky step to that unknown branche and found your own game company.
It is all in your hands: Starting with the layout of a much promising concept
for the perfect game you are led to production, sales and marketing. Take on
the right employees and will you manage it to establish your company worldwide?
Will you be able to use the coming up new technologies and to handle the growing
efforts of the market? Software Tycoon is the ideal simulation for all
game-enthusiasts, who are dreaming of making their hobby to profession. With
the multiple possibilities for interaction, many given scenarios, always new
challenges and a extortionate dash satire according to the software-branche
Software Tycoon is exactly the game for which all gamblers always were waiting for!
But be warned: Your opponents are crafty and don't hesitate to use nasty sabotage
to put anyhow stones - better say viruses - on your path...
Shipping is planned for end of May 2002.

IOSPIRIT founded, takeover of Innovative products
At the end of the year 2000, fxSCAN 3.0, the first program for optical character recognition (OCR)
for the AMIGA for a long time, has been officially presented. The program AMIGA-users longed for
such a long time was ordered that often within the first few weeks of availability that the infrastructure
of Innovative couldn't keep pace any more.
Felix Schwarz, author of such powerful and popular graphics applications like fxSCAN, fxPAINT, Ultraconv
and VHI Studio, made the decision to create an own company from Innovative, the AMIGA-division (led by Felix
Schwarz) of the software-company of his father, renew the whole internal infrastructure and organisation,
expand the business areas and to further extend and improve the customer service.
On the 2nd of January 2002 IOSPIRIT was founded by Felix Schwarz in Herzogenaurach. The enterprise
has two main fields of business activity:
- Software development
IOSPIRIT develops powerful graphics applications for the most different tasks and target
audiences. In development special focus is put on the support of the latest technologies
and easy usability while still offering maximum power, flexibility and expandibility. IOSPIRIT
also develops new, innovative technologies whereof the user directly profits.

At the AmigaActive mailing list editor Neil Bothwick confirmed that
the magazine "digital" will be collimated. That magazine has been

Audio: Aseq - Multiplatform Midi-/Audio-Sequencer
Aseq is a new commercial midi and audio (sample) sequencer. It implements an
easy to use "x0x" style sequencer, both step and realtime sequencing. It has
the capability to use both native audio and midi, in a simple manner.
A demo version should be available in the forseeable future. Check the Aseq
site: www.aseq.de regularly for updates etc.
The site is for the time being quite simple. I am open to any suggestions,
wishes, donations etcetera =)
Versions are planned for the Amiga and a variety of other platforms, like
linux, QNX, (dr)dos and Mac OSX.
Feature list:
- Easy to use and fast interface
- Intuitive sequencing method(x0x), no steep learning curve
- Fully integrated usage of both midi sounds and native audio (samples)
- Hardware indepedant OS friendly coding
- Does only need little resources
- No fixed pattern length
- Easy to use gui for many controller functions in midi
- Patch editor, programmable with your own midi and midi sysex messages
- Midi event editor, so you can edit every midi message/event yourself
