In two entries in two different forums, Matthew Leaman from Amigakit has provided some information on the lastest status of the A1222 Early Adopter Programme. Video preview: Arcade game Jump!
Jump! is an Amiga port of the game Yoomp! which was released 2007 for Atari's 8-Bit computer. The Amiga port is supposed to be sold in the third quarter of 2020 by RGCD. Now a teaser video obviously shows the AGA version of the engine. The game can be also played on an Amiga 500 but then with reduced colours and a smaller tunnel. An record from December shows a previous engine which might look like the coming ECS version. (cg) (Translation: dr)

Person Contact and Information Manager PerCIMan 0.7
Ulrich Beckers has updated his person contact and information manager PerCIMan which is available for AmigaOS 3.x, AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS (as well as Windows). In version 0.7 a birthday reminder was added.

Editor's note (dr): Please note that the AmigaOS 3.x version requires a graphics card. This is not mentioned in the Aminet readme and on the website of the author you can only conclude it from his line "Other requirements are low: A screen resolution of at least 820x820". In a previous mail to his program to measure times required to motor-react, R²Z, Ulrich Beckers stated that Hollywood programs requires a graphics card by default - except the Plananarame plugin is used. We have asked the author if he still tries to release versions supporting the AGA chipset as well. (snx) (Translation: dr)

MIDI sequencer: Source code of "Horny" released
The source code of the MIDI sequencer "Horny" which was developed to 2003 to 2006 now is available under a free license on GitHub. The developer Timo Kloss wrote: "This code is so bad, I had to give up working on it. It's here for nostalgic and historical reasons only." The names of variables and functions are in German.

Kloss himself is not going to develop the program further but thinks it might be possible to remove the keyfiles checks and to provide some minor bug fixes by third parties. Originally Horny was written with StormC and due to porting it to AmigaOS 4 then adapted to GCC. (cg) (Translation: dr)

RTG driver: P96 2.4.4 (update)
The graphic card driver P96 has been updated. This is a free update for all those customers who has purchased the driver since the takeover by Individual Computers. It fixes a bug "when clearing the screen, which showed for example with the program Pagestream when used on a true-colour screen."

Update: (02.01.2020, 13:45, cg)

In contrary with our original news item, obviously the update is not available for free for all customers: Several of our readers have reported that the purchase of a P96 licence entitles the user to get free updates for only 12 months. Thus, if you have purchased P96 right after the takeover by Individual Computers, you again have to pay for version 2.4.4. (snx) (Translation: dr)

A-EON Technology: Pre-order registration for the A1222 Early Adopter Motherboard
In a press release only published on Facebook - the company's website is now even lacking all the old press releases from 2017 and earlier - A-EON is announcing its pre-order registration for the 'Early Adopter' motherboard of the A1222.

Press release:

A-EON A1222 Plus Limited Edition: pre-registration and special AAA bundle

A-EON Technology is pleased to announce pre-order registration for the limited edition A1222 Plus Early Adopter motherboard.

The Early Adopter release is based on the original Tabor motherboard which has been under extended beta test for the past four years. Due to obsolescence, several minor onboard components need to be replaced and A-EON, with assistance from its hardware developers, has commissioned the production of 100 motherboards for a limited manufacturing run. Hyperion Entertainment's developer & beta test teams are working on the updated AmigaOS 4.1 distribution, while the ExecSG team is optimising kernel performance for the A1222 Plus.

Each Early Adopter system will include a full AmigaOS 4.1 EA digital licence supplied by Hyperion Entertainment and have access to regular file and driver updates as soon as they become available. The A1222 Plus Early Adopter limited edition is available at a special low price of: GB£ 350, €400 or US$ 450*.

Triple-A fun for all

Building on Commodore's bundling tradition, A-EON Technology is releasing a special AAA pack to celebrate the A1222 Plus Early Adopter release. The AAA pack will include:
  • The new Enhancer Software V2.0 from A-EON Technology
  • "Amiga.org" mouse & mouse mat
  • "Personal Paint" for AmigaOS PPC and AmigaOS 68k
  • "ImageFX" for AmigaOS 3.x
  • A specially commissioned "AmigaSYS 35th Anniversary Edition"
  • Digital copy of the "Viva Amiga Extended Remix" movie as soon as it is released
  • Special "AAA display box"
  • An "A1222 Early Adopter certificate" (see option 1)
The AAA bundle is priced at: GB£ 100, €115 or US$ 128* (* plus postage and packing).

Securing your Limited Edition A1222 Early Adopter motherboard

To pre-register for the special Early Adapter package you have two options:

Option 1: AAA bundle purchase
Purchasing the AAA bundle will automatically reserve your option to purchase one Early Adopter motherboard on a first come first serve basis, subject to the number of AAA orders received.

Option 2: 20% pre-order deposit
A-EON will begin accepting orders for Option 1 from December 24th. Subject to availability, pre-orders for Option 2 will begin on January 7th 2020. The AAA packs will ship in January. The Limited Edition A1222 Plus Early Adopter boards are expected to ship around the end of the first quarter of 2020** (** subject to change).
