Amiga Inc.: Merlancia kauft Amiga Walker und MCC Designs
Merlancia Industries is pleased to announce the purchase of the legendary Amiga Walker
and MCC designs.
The Walker and MCC designs (created by Frogdesign and Pentagram respectively) are now
owned exclusively by Merlancia Industries. These designs will be implemented in
Merlancia's MMC/Torro line of multimedia PowerPC products.
The Walker case, designed in 1995-6 by Frogdesign for Escom AG will be implemented in a
Space Conservative Desktop unit; expressly useful for offices and cramped desks. The
Walker design, currently Merlancia Radian, will feature a PowerPC G3 or G4 (750 and 7410
resp.) processor with an advanced graphics chipset and will be targeted for sale around
the $1500 to $2000 price point.
The MCC case, designed in 1999 by Pentagram was planned as Amiga's Multimedia
Convergence Console. Merlancia will be implementing this design for its Apocalypse DT and
ST series systems, based on the PowerPC 7xx and 8xxx series processors. The MCC design
will be implemented in set top box and low cost desktop packages based on the X-Casting
Broadband Video delivery method next year for prices ranging between $699 and $1299.
Dr. Ryan E. A. Czerwinski, CEO of Merlancia Industries comments "We anticipate
minor styling changes and modifications, as needed for the implementation of our hardware,
none of which will effect the beauty or harmony of the case designs. We will be producing
the cases out of stainless steel, with the possibility of other materials being available
as well."

Blittersoft: Zukünftige Entwicklung von iFusion
Blittersoft beschreibt in der heutigen Pressemitteilung, wie die zukünftige
Entwicklung von iFusion aussehen wird. Danach wird Microcode Solutions
dem Emulator noch 'Direct SCSI' hinzufügen, damit CD-ROM, Scanner usw.
direkt angesprochen werden können. Geplant ist desweiteren
'Networking', um Netzwerke zwischen iFusion und anderen Computern
zu erlauben. Parallel- und Serialsupport sollen die Nutzung von Drucker
und Modem sichern.
Mit Merlancia Industries wurde eine Entwickler-Vereinbarung getroffen,
die zunächst eine neue Benutzeroberfläche mit sich bringt. Später sollen
weitere Features folgen.
Eine ebensolche Entwickler-Vereinbarung wurde mit Haage&Partner getroffen,
welche sich primär um iFusion-Probleme rund um Blizzard PPC kümmern
sollen. Auch hier können weitere Features folgen.

Microcode Solutions
When Blittersoft purchased iFusion, we did so with an agreement to allow
Microcode Solutions to add new features for us. We are pleased to say
that we have now agreed the following news features to be added:
- Direct SCSI - Allowing direct CD-ROM, Scanners, etc. (with appropriate Mac drivers)
- Networking - Allowing networking between iFusion and another computer
- Parallel/Serial support - Allowing printing and modem use.
Merlancia Industries
We have signed a developer agreement with Merlancia Industries. This will
initially provide a new GUI for iFusion, but other features are possible
in the future.
Haage & Partner
We have signed a developer agreement with Haage & Partner. This is to devote
more time to the Blizzard PPC problem with iFusion. Other features are also

und online für alle GREX-User verfügbar gemacht.
Außerdem ist DCE dabei, die komplette Website zu überarbeiten.
Für die Blizzard PPC ist das Flash Update mit der PCI Library Ver. 1.3
erschienen. Alle GREX-Benutzer sollten diese Variante ab sofort benutzen.

Solitaire-Variante (auch für PC). Wer Interesse hat, kann ja mal
vorbeischauen und sich ein paar Kartensätze holen. Noch nicht

The Register: Gateway pulls out of UK and Ireland
Wie bereits mehrfach berichtet, hat Gateway, der amerikanische PC-Hersteller,
der AMIGA 1997 gekauft und Ende 1999 wieder verkauft hat,
dieses Jahr mit tiefroten Zahlen zu kämpfen. Nach der Schließung von 27
US-Stores und der Ankündigung der Schließung der deutschen Niederlassung
wurde nun auch die Schließung des europäischen Hauptquartiers in Dublin
sowie der englischen Niederlassung bestätigt. Alleine in Irland und England
verlieren damit 1.200 Menschen ihren Arbeitsplatz.

Eternity News: Neue Eternity1 Angebote und Pakete

namens SatraDB in Entwicklung. Der Prozess schreitet gut voran; das Design

Heise: GMX: 95 Prozent der E-Mail-Accounts sind validiert
GMX wird immer wieder vorgeworfen, dass ein Großteil der E-Mail-Konten mit
falschen Angaben eröffnet wurde. Aus diesem Grund werden GMX-Adressen von
vielen Diensten nicht akzeptiert. GMX-Sprecherin Marion Schanzer widersprach
diesem Vorwurf und erklärt, dass eine Verifizierung stattfindet und von
über 9 Millionen E-Mail-Accounten lediglich 500.000 Kunden den Status
"nicht verifiziert" hätten.

Am 07.08.2001 hat er Version 0.2.9.11 von xlHTML veröffentlicht. Dieses
Programm konvertiert Excel- und Powerpoint-Dateien nach HTML.
