Amiga University braucht für verschiedene Bereiche Ihre Unterstützung:

Hello fellow Amigans. I would like to take but a moment of your time to
notify you of a new site that isn't quite done yet, but is definitely on the
way and hopefully will be able to help *all* of you use your Amigas to the nth
degree, as they were designed to be used.
Due to the excitement being generated by this year's Amiga2K show, we wanted
to announce our presence just before the show to jump on the bandwagon.
As Bob Scharp likes to say, Amiga2K is going to be HUGE!
The site is called Amiga University, and located at http://www.amigau.com.
We are currently looking for the following:
1) Visitors to the site, primarily Amiga users from around the globe who want
to use their Amiga in new, different ways as well as expand on their existing
knowledge of current interests. Refer to the News page for the sections
of the site already done vs. those still under construction (we're about halfway
there at present);
2) Faculty for the university. If any of you have specific Amiga
knowledge or experience and would like to share it, please visit our Faculty
pages and climb on board, we'd love to have you. It doesn't matter if
your expertise is in hardware hacks, Lightwave animation or MIDI wizardry,
the more the merrier!

Hier sind einige Neuigkeiten zum Projekt "AFD-Copyright" (TM) oder
"Standard Amiga FD-Software Copyright Note" (TM).
Diese Urheberrechts-Notiz ist ein Angebot an alle Amiga-Entwickler,
die FD-Software veröffentlichen möchten, sei es als Freeware,
Giftware, Shareware oder was-auch-immer.
AFD-Copyright ist jetzt in fünfzehn (15!) Sprachen verfügbar - alle
in zwei Formaten, als reiner Text und als HTML-Datei. Die neueste
Ergänzung ist die russische Übersetzung von Andrew Boyarintsev und
Oleg Sergeev.
Die Dateien können jetzt von der Offiziellen Support Seite
für AFD-COPYRIGHT heruntergeladen werden - einzeln und als

Neue Software für MROOCHECK PC-Wheel-Mouse-Interface von Elbox
Elbox stellt ein Update der Software für das PC-Wheel-Mouse-Interface
MROOCHECK zur Verfügung. Darin enthalten ist FreeWheel, ein Commodity,
mit welchem nützliche Funktionen einstellbar sind. Beachten Sie die
Hinweise im readme, welches dem Archiv beigefügt ist.
New software for Wheel support for MROOCHECK PC Mouse Interface.
Also included in this release is FreeWheel - the commodity which
converts wheelmouse events into scrollbar movement or cursor key
movements. It can also map several useful functions to the
wheel button, and a fourth mouse button. Read more in ReadMeFirst.
The Mroocheck interface guarantees full compatibility of these devices
with Amiga computers (wheel and extra button functions included).
The basic advantage over the solutions, which are based around
connecting mouses to the Amiga serial port is that a mouse/trackball
connected through the Mroocheck interface is active as soon as in
the early-startup-menu, not only after the computer software drivers
are started. Obviously enough, Mroocheck does not block the serial port
in Amiga.

Tipp: akJFIF und FinalWriter
Andreas Kleinert schreibt: In den Tipps & Tricks der AmigaOS hat vor einiger Zeit wohl
gestanden, akJFIF sei der einzige V43 Datatype, mit dem sich JPEGs in Finalwriter einladen
liessen, oder etwas in der Art. Da gerade wieder einmal bei mir angefragt wurde (und ich nicht
andauernd dieselbe Auskunft neu tippen möchte), warum das trotzdem nicht klappt - und in dem Tipp
die Konfigurationshinweise fehlten - hier die Kurzfassung:
- Finalwriter von der WB starten
- auf die WB wechseln
- akJFIFPrefs starten
- in "General" den "Dithermode" auf "Floyd-Steinberg (V40)" stellen
- "Task-Save"-Button drücken
- aus der Task-Liste den Finalwriter-Prozess auswählen und "Use"-Button drücken
Die entsprechenden Einstellungen gelten dann dauerhaft, und zwar nur für den Finalwriter-Prozess. (ps)

Planetamiga Österreich bietet rundum erneuertes Online-Angebot
Seit heute bietet Planetamiga Österreich eine völlig neue überarbeitete
Webseite und gleichzeitig den ersten Amiga Onlineshop mit Warenkorb-System,
den es in Österreich gibt. Nachdem die vorherige Version der Internetseite
von Planetamiga in die Tage gekommen war, hatte man sich entschlossen eine
völlig neue Idee zu verwirklichen. In Design und Aufbau ist die Seite
dezent gehalten, inhaltlich ist sie noch ausbaufähig.
Besonders interessant für österreichische Amiga-Anwender könnte der
Planetamiga-Newsletter werden, der nicht nur aktuelle Informationen rund
um den Amiga per e-Mail direkt an das private Postfach zustellt, sondern
auch über aktuellste Sonderangebote informieren wird. Planetamiga plant
auch ein werbefreies Webinterface für Homepagebetreiber, da dies aber noch
nicht fertig ist, soll hierzu noch nichts näheres erklärt werden. (ps)
