YAM: Planned changes in version 2.8 and next versions
Four days ago the main developers of the eMail programm YAM, Thore Böckelmann and Jens Langner, met to discuss the further development of this software. Under the title link you can find the results of this meeting.

As a result version 2.8 is making good progress and therefore could be be published before this Christmas. But they complained that developers for the MorphOS version as well as for all AROS versions are missing. More translators would be welcome as well. (snx) (Translation: dr)

A-Eon has been restructured and moved to Wales
A-Eon Technology, the company behind the AmigaOne X1000, was founded in 2009 as a CVBA ("Coöperatieve Vennootschap met Beperkte Aansprakelijkheid") - a cooperative company with limited liability. The company's main offices are located in Brussels, the main shareholders are Trevor Dickinson, Anthony Moorley and Ben Hermans (Hyperion).

For quite a while, there have been rumours that the company headquarters were about to be moved to Great Britain and that Ben Hermans and Anthony Moorley were no longer shareholders. On its recently redesigned website the company refers to itself as "A-Eon Technology Ltd.", according to Great Britian's company database it was founded two months ago and is headquartered in Cardiff, Wales.

The names of the shareholders are only available for a fee, but another well-known Amiga company is located in Cardiff: Leaman Computing Ltd., better known as Amigakit - the official X1000-distributor.

At director-check.co.uk, Matthew Leaman (Amigakit) is indeed listed as a director of A-Eon Technology, which indicates partnership in the company aswell. Trevor Dickinson's blog on A-Eon's website aswell as his behaviour on English Amiga portals suggest that he is still involved in A-Eon aswell. If the other founding members Anthony Moorley and Ben Hermans are still involved with the company is not known at the time of writing. (cg) (Translation: dr)

The NetBSD port for Amiga computers has now a first support of the PCI-busboard of the model Mediator 1200.

Network boards based on NE2000 (e.g. Realtek 8029, pictureo) already can be used. Usage of the PCI mem-space and therefore graphics cards are in development. NetBSD is adapted to the hardware with reverse engineering. (snx) (Translation: dr)
