Real-time strategy: Update of Vanilla Conquer
Artur Jarosik had released version 1.0 of his port of the first part of the real-time strategy series Command & Conquer to the Amiga in May (amiga-news.de reported). Now he has released a separate version ("vanillatd_no_vamp.zip") for Amigas without Vampire accelerator card, which offers a twice optimized rendering speed. Also, the custom cursor is now enabled in the game.

AmigaKit: Switchless floppy boot selector
British dealer AmigaKit offers a switchless boot-selector for the Amiga 500 or 2000 floppy drives at the title link: Pressing Ctrl-Amiga-Amiga for five seconds makes DF1 the boot drive, while the original DF0 is switched off. Pressing the key again reverses this.

AmigaOS 4.1: Spreadsheet ignition 1.21
Achim Pankalla has released version 1.21 of his spreadsheet ignition, which requires at least AmigaOS 4.1 Update 6. The new version corrects bugs in some functions, now allows file suffixes with more than three characters and offers a revised manual.
The ods-addon has also been updated. The extension allows loading and saving tables in OpenDocument format, which is used in LibreOffice/OpenOffice Calc, among others. Changes in ign-ods-addon 0.37:
- now some more functions are converted
- solve a problem with ms ods-files
- corrects a failure in calculation of column and row size
A new addition is the xlsx-AddOn for reading MS Excel files. This is a first, early version of the extension, the integration in ignition must still be done manually. Here tested with a calendar file (left ignition, right Excel):

Image processing: FPU version of RNOEffects 1.4

MorphOS: TinyGL beta version 2022-09-08
MorphOS team developer Mark 'Bigfoot' Olsen had offered a bounty project for improved OpenGL support as well as drivers for more Radeon graphics cards under the title link, which has been successfully funded (amiga-news.de reported). In the meantime, the developer has released a third beta version of his TinyGL update.
Among other things, the shaders now continue to work correctly even after resizing the window. A detailed description of the new features can be found in the archive's readme file.

Kjetil 'LiveForIt' Hvalstrand is working on an interpreter which can run AMOS source code under AmigaOS 4. As the developer wrote "on the Amos command this project tries to stay 99% compatible, a few command won't work as this project use a bit more modern chunky image format instead of the planar graphic format". Frogger clone: Croaker
A classic: In the game produced by Sega in 1981 and developed by Konami, you have to guide a frog safely across a busy road and then across a river ((Wikipedia entry)). In the now released Amiga adaptation "Croaker" (YouTube video), the task remains the same, but becomes more difficult with each level, as the number of lanes increases. The game offers a 2-player mode and runs with AmigaOS 1.3 and 512k chip ram by default.

For users who had purchased a full version of the DTP application Pagestream 5 for said systems in the past, an update to version 5.1.2 was uploaded by Deron Kazmaier today. Accelerator board: Buffee developers test TF1200
In her latest blog entry, Renee Cousins, one of the two developers of the turbo card project "Buffee" (amiga-news.de reported), reports that due to the existence of a TF1200 by Stephen Leary they are able to test Buffee on the Amiga 1200 as well. AmigaOS 4: C runtime library clib2 v1.0.0 beta 7
Andrea 'afxgroup' Palmate has created a fork of the official clib2 library, included in adtools. This library is exclusively for AmigaOS 4 to make it easy to maintain and to be able to add all the missing clib2 functions that are hard to add on 68k Amigas. Emulator: QEMU 7.1.0 released
QEMU is an open source computer emulator and virtualizer. QEMU is able to emulate a complete computer in software without the need of hardware virtualization. So it is possible to emulate Amiga operating systems like AROS, AmigaOS or MorphOS on QEMU. THEA500 Mini: Pandory500 firmware V2
"Pandory500" is a "cross-loading" firmware for the THEA500 mini that allows many other emulators and programs to run (YouTube video). Programming language: Amiga Blitz Basic 2 Visual Studio Code Ext. 0.7.0
Just a week ago we first reported about Youen Chéné's fork of the Visual Studio Code Extension of 'MickGyver', which provides support for Amiga Blitz Basic 2 (and Amiblitz). In the article the developer indicated to us that a merge of both extensions was the goal. This was put into action today with the release of version 0.7.0, integrating Chéné's fork into the 'MickGyver' extension.

SCSI-SD adapter: ZuluSCSI firmware 1.0.7
ZuluSCSI is a new generation of file-based SCSI hard disk and CD-ROM drive emulators. ZuluSCSI emulates a SCSI-I or SCSI-2 hard disk using an SD memory card (amiga-news.de reported). The firmware needed for this has been updated several times in the last days.

Platformer: Update for "Bomb Jack Beer Edition" available
"Bomb Jack Beer Edition" was the first game written by Graeme 'McGeezer' Cowie in 2017/2018 and is a remake of Bomb Jack, developed by Tehkan in 1984. As the author writes, in addition to the original version, which is still available, there is also one whose audio is closer to the style of the arcade. In the process, the "Jarre MF2" arrangement has also been removed. MorphOS: Web browser Wayfarer 4.0

'Prince', founder of the group 'Phaze101', streams the assembler coding course "Corso completo di programmazione assembler in due dischi" in English on Twitch and uploads the respective episodes time-delayed to YouTube (amiga-news.de reports regularly).
In another tutorial Amiga Assembly For Beginners - Lets Make a Game, Prince has explained with concrete examples how to write a game with assembler. The last Episode 16 is now available.
The resulting game "Mr Poo's Journey" is available on itch.io for a self-determined price. The game runs on a standard Amiga 500.

Database: MUIBase is now BeeBase, version 1.0 available
Steffen Gutmann has been maintaining a programmable relational database called MUIBase since 1998, most recently version 4.5 had been released in mid-July. Since the open source program is now available for various other platforms (Windows, Mac OS, Linux) in addition to Amiga systems, the name 'MUIBase' was no longer optimal, however. The author seems to see it that way, too: Yesterday BeeBase 1.0 was released.

Thomas Harte's Clock Signal is an emulator for various 8- and 16-bit platforms aiming to be invisible to the user. The idea is to simply start the source medium without configuring the emulator oneself. Clock Signal is available for Mac OS and Unix-compatible systems. Preview video: Sci-fi racing game "Hyper Runner"
The developer team of Raster Wizards - among others The Shadows of Sergoth or Super Metal Hero - had already announced a new sci-fi racing game "Hyper Runner" for the Amiga two months ago with the release of a first YouTube video. After restoring an Amiga 2000 (part 1, part 2), Epsilon has already started his next project: in his blog 'Epsilon's World' he now reports how he installs a Raspberry Pi 4 into a Checkmate A1500 mini case and then running it with AmiKit XE including a Greaseweazle V4 floppy drive solution.

Boot Selector for Amiga 600 / 1200 (update)
With a boot selector it is possible to use an externally connected floppy drive (or Gotek Floppy Drive Emulator) as boot floppy. This is made possible by making the Amiga believe that the external drive is DF0:. To avoid soldering and fiddling with wires, there are ready-made solutions of various kinds, but they basically all do the same thing: swap two address lines.

MUI-Vim is a port of the editor Vim for AmigaOS4, AROS and MorphOS. This editor is intended for editing programs as well as plain text files. AmigaOS 4: C runtime library clib2 v1.0.0 beta 6
Andrea 'afxgroup' Palmate has created a fork of the official clib2 library, included in adtools. This library is exclusively for AmigaOS 4 to make it easy to maintain and to be able to add all the missing clib2 functions that are hard to add on 68k Amigas. The goal is to make it POSIX compliant and also fix any C++ problems that exist with newer compilers (amiga-news.de reported).
