Mod-Player: HippoPlayer 2.58
Kari-Pekka Koljonen, der Entwickler des Amiga-MOD-Players HippoPlayer, hat ein Update auf die Version 2.58 veröffentlicht. Änderungen:
Fixes:
- Starting with command line "HiP "
or with a "Startup" playlist and with random play mode always played the
first entry, not a random entry, fixed this.
- Fix search view sometimes not showing the last two list items.
- Increased the maximum width of the window, so it can be resized wider
than before.
- Loading with "XFDmaster library" was fixed already in the previous
version but I forgot to mention it in the last changelist.
- PlaySid on kickstart 1.3: playing PSIDs on kick 1.3 could
crash previously. There is now a fixed kick 1.3 specific playsid.library
included, which is the latest official original version with some kick 1.3
specific fixes. Use the other included library for newer kickstarts.
- AHI: Improved SBLive compatibility when stopping playback.
New features:
- A new prefs option "Prefs/Play-1/Position slider" enables a
slider in the main window which can be used to select the playing
position. This works for the most common module types supporting
pattern skipping. It also enables seeking locally played
MP3 files.
- Updated 8bitbubsy's xmaplay060 from version v0.41 to v0.46.

Icon-Library 46.4.577
Im März 2021 stellten wir Peter Keuneckes icon.library ausführlich vor, die er auch weiterhin pflegt und verbessert. In der nun veröffentlichten Version hat er unter anderem ein Skript "ConvertToPngIcons" im Bonusordner hinzugefügt, das Amiga Icons in das PNG Format umwandeln und optional mit Hilfe von ImageConverter skalieren kann. Modul-Player: NostalgicPlayer 2.0.1 für Windows
NostalgicPlayer ist ein Programm zum Abspielen von Amiga-Musikmodulateien unter Windows, das auf dem APlayer basiert. Die Entwicklung des Abspielers hatte der Autor Thomas Neumann 1993 auf dem Amiga begonnen, später auf BeOS und nun unter Windows fortgeführt (amiga-news.de berichtete).
Die nun veröffentlichte Version 2.0.1 korrigiert hauptsächlich Fehler der Vorgängerversion:
- Made Future Composer player more robust for empty modules.
- If you have set up Windows to use more than 2 channels, NostalgicPlayer crashed when trying to play a module. Big thanks to Robert Konrad (RobDangerous) for the fix.
- If the very first line is selected in the module list, then the page-down key didn't work.
- In some rare situations the Piano visualizer crashes when fast-forwarding with an invalid argument error.
- Some mp3 files was not recognized as so.
- Fixed different bugs when double-clicking a file to open it in NostalgicPlayer.

Video: "Browservice" unter Linux und AmigaOS 4
Dave 'Skateman' Koelman, der unter anderem den Artikel Verwendung von zwei Grafikkarten im AmigaOne X5000 geschrieben hat, erläutert in einem Video samt dazugehöriger Videobeschreibung, wie man Browservice - ein Web-"Proxy"-Server, der das Surfen im Internet auf historischen Browsern ermöglicht - unter Linux einrichtet, um ihn dann mit dem Odyssey-Browser unter AmigaOS 4 nutzen zu können. Vergleichbar mit AmiFox für AmigaOS 3 bzw. AROS wandelt Browservice das Browser-Ansichtsfenster in Bilder um, die dann von einer JavaScript-Anwendung auf dem Client-Browser angezeigt werden. (dr)

Hollywood: Unterstützung durch Editoren SciTE und Notepad++ (Update)
Andreas Falkenhahn schreibt: Die beiden beliebten Editoren SciTE und Notepad++ unterstützen jetzt standardmäßig auch Hollywood.
SciTE unterstützt Hollywood ab der Version 5.3.6 und Notepad++ unterstützt Hollywood ab der Version 8.5.2. SciTE ist vor allem für Linux- und macOS-Nutzer interessant, da es auf diesen Plattformen keine Hollywood-IDE gibt.

Unser Leser Michael Jurisch korrigiert: Mit seiner Hollywood-Erweiterung für Visual Studio Code gibt es durchaus eine Editor-Alternative unter Linux und macOS. (snx)
