amiga-news.de is looking for a (server administrator and) a PHP developer
After more than 20 years, amiga-news.de's PHP developer and server administrator will be leaving the team in late summer (amiga-news.de reported). For the system administration we have received some applications but we are still looking for a PHP developer.
This PHP developer should know PHP 7.3+ without ORM and Framework, SQL for MariaDB, Composer, Phing, PHPUnit and Behat. PHP development needs to be taken over in late summer. Like all other positions in the amiga-news.de team, the job is unpaid voluntary work.

Event: AmiWest 2019
This year's 22th AmiWest in Sacramento (California) will take place from 23. to 27. October in the hotel Holiday Inn Express (reservations information). Among the exhibitors are A-EON Technology, AmigaKit and Amiga On The Lake (AOTL). By the financial support of AOTL the traditional developer conference will be free of charge. As usual it will be chaired by Exec-SG-Team-Lead Steven Solie.

Web browser: NetSurf 3.9 (ReAction)
The web browser Netsurf - and also Chris Young's ReAction-based Amiga port (not to be confused with the SDL version) - now is available as version 3.9. The (cross-platform) changes includes among others CSS-Media-Queries (level 4) and improvements for JavaScript handling.
The port for AmigaOS 4 is available on the official download site. The test build for AmigaOS 3.5+ is available on Aminet.

AROS: Distribution AROS One 1.1 for 68k and x86
AROS One is a personal distribution of AROS-x86-ABIv0 based on the Nightly Builds which has a self-made drawer icon set and the Wanderer configured in AfA-OS style. AROS One consists of the ISO image of a live-CD, a video demonstrates the installation on a virtual harddrive. If you want to use a real computer instead of a virtual machine, you have to configure the network card.

AROS: Distribution Icaros Desktop 2.2.8
Paolo Besser has released an update of his AROS distribution Icaros Desktop. Additional to bug fixes he added the picture viewer VidentiumPicta, the emulator Atari800, the MIDI sequencer Bars'n'Pipes and some games.

Belgian Amiga Club: Fotographs of Amiga 1200+
Under the title link Jeroen Vandezande has documented his upgraded replica of an Amiga-1200 board which he will also present at the Amiga 34 in Neuss taking place in October. Instead of a PCMCIA port the Amiga 1200+ has a MicroSD card port and is open source.

Event: David Pleasance at Belgian Amiga Club Meeting
The former Commodore UK executive and author David Pleasance (Friend OS) will be special guest at Belgian Amiga Club Meeting on 5th October in Ekeren (district of Antwerp). Event: Apollo team at Gamescom 2019 (Germany)
Additional to APC&TCP this year also the Apollo team will have their own stand at the Gamescom in Cologne (Germany). The developers of the FPGA core of the Vampire accelerator boards will be present from 21. to 24. August in Hall 10.
