AmigaOS 4: Directory Opus 4.18.44
In der neuen Version des Dateimanagers Directory Opus wurden einige kleinere Fehler beseitigt.
- Fixed directory sizes displayed in a lister when searching for a
filename (or pattern) in multiple directories with the hunt command.
- Fixed a hunt command failure to highlight the found file when the file
was located in a subdirectory of the directory being searched. When the
user selected the OK button in the "Shall I go there?" requester,
the hunt command would display a requester stating that the file was
not found but then load the directory where the file was located.
- Fixed a crash in the Dopus4 text viewer. If Dopus4 was on the
Workbench screen and the text viewer was open when the user quit
the Dopus4 program, the viewer would crash (Grim Reaper).
- Fixed a bug in Dopus_Print that prevented updating of the output
filename in the requester.
- Changed makefiles to create 'stabs' debug binaries and improve
compiler output readability. All Dopus4 components will now display
specific function information in a stack trace if there is a failure
when running debug binaries.
- Replaced all internal string functions and unbounded 'C' library string
functions with size limited 'C' library string functions to eliminate
possible buffer overflows.
- Replaced all deprecated memory allocation functions with new OS4 memory
allocation functions.
- Replaced all deprecated message related functions with new OS4 functions.
- Fixed all compiler warnings to make it easier to spot new warnings.
- Added a missing Tooltype to the DirectoryOpus icon.
- Changed the copyright data in about window.
- Updated copyright data in english DirectoryOpus.guide.
- Updated history files.

Hallo liebe Amigafans,
in der vergangenen Ausgabe hatten wir Euch anlässlich des 30. Geburtstag des Amiga einen Bericht aus Amsterdam mitgebracht. Auch in den USA wurde dieses Ereignis gefeiert. Wir sprachen per Skype mit Wei-ju, ein BoingsWorld-Hörer der ersten Stunde welcher in den USA lebt, wie in Mountain View gefeiert wurde.
Neben seinen Eindrücken hat er auch ein paar Videos mitgebracht die Ihr in unserem Linkarchiv zum Podcast findet. An dieser Stelle nochmals ein Dankeschön an Wei-ju für seine Mühe.
Unser zweiter Interviewpartner Costel Mincea wurde erst kürzlich als dritter Geschäftsführer von Hyperion bekannt gegeben. Ebenfalls per Skype zugeschaltet, hat er uns Rede und Antwort gestanden.
Zusätzlich beantwortete er auch noch Userfragen aus dem OS4Welt-Forum die dort vorab in einem Thread gestellt wurden.

Großes Sommerupdate von 17 Hollywood-Plugins
Pressemitteilung: Von wegen Sommerloch! Für alle Hollywood-User holt Airsoft Softwair diesen Sommer mit dem größten Plugin-Update in der Hollywood-Geschichte zum großen Rundumschlag aus! Von insgesamt 17 Plugins stehen ab sofort neue Versionen zum Download bereit. Durch die vielen von Hollywood unterstützten Plattformen bedeutet dies, dass über 200 neue Binaries kompiliert werden mussten, die insgesamt über 50 Megabyte einnehmen. Insbesondere Freunde des Raspberry Pi werden sich über diese Updates freuen, da alle Plugins jetzt auch für Linux ARM vorliegen, welches seit Hollywood 6.0 unterstützt wird.

MiST: Deutsches Diskussionsforum eingerichtet
Für den FPGA-Computer MiST (amiga-news.de berichtete) hat Kristof Csendes unter dem Titellink ein deutsches Diskussionsforum eingerichtet. Er schreibt:
"Seit dem 23. Juli gibt es für alle, die sich für den kleinen FPGA-Computer MiST interessieren, eine deutschsprachige Anlaufstelle.
Im neuentstandenen Forum ist jeder willkommen, der sich für die Weiterentwicklung des Computers mit seinen zahlreichen Cores (unter anderem eine nahezu vollständige Amiga-1200-Simulation) einsetzen und dazu beitragen möchte, eine zentrale Anlaufstelle für alle Fragestellungen ins Lebens zu rufen.
Ein weiterer Administrator mit phpbb3-Kenntnissen wird gesucht, damit das Forum etwas mehr Individualität bekommt. Bisher konnten lediglich die absolut notwendigen Funktionen implementiert werden.
Ebenso werden einige motivierte Moderatoren für den laufenden Betrieb gesucht.
Das Forum verfolgt keinerlei kommerziellen Zweck und wird ausschließlich privat betrieben. Alle Besucher sind herzlich willkommen!" (snx)

AmigaOS 4: PowerSelect 3.0
Janne Peraahos kommerzielles Programm "PowerSelect" für AmigaOS 4.1 erlaubt die Auswahl einer Gruppe von Workbench-Piktogrammen anhand von Suchkriterien (z.B. Datei-Endung oder Erzeugungsdatum) und liegt nun in der Version 3.0 vor.
Neu sind unter anderem fünf weitere Suchkriterien: Content, Default tool, Start from, Tooltypes und Tag. (snx)

Das PDF-Magazin REV'n'GE ("Retro Emulator Vision and Game") liegt neben dem italienischen Original auch in englischer Übersetzung vor. Die Spiele-Reviews der REV'n'GE vergleichen die Umsetzungen von Klassikern zwischen unterschiedlichen damaligen Plattformen. (cg)

Sqrxz 3, Version 1.0 für Amiga OCS
Bereits vor einer Woche hat Retroguru mit Hilfe von Frank Wille das Spiel Sqrxz 3 für den Amiga veröffentlicht. Die ADF-Datei kann kostenlos von der offiziellen Homepage heruntergeladen werden. In zehn herausfordernden Leveln wird dem Spieler in diesem Puzzle-Jump'n'Run so einiges abverlangt.
Neben der Programmierung durch Frank Wille steuerten Simon Butler und Anne Claire Riffaud Declercq die Grafiken bei. Die Farbreduktion für den Amiga mit OCS stammt von Virgile Metier. Für die Chiptunes zeichnet Alexander Wiklund verantwortlich. Die restlichen Arbeiten haben unter anderem Shahzad Sahaib sowie Denny Müller vollbracht. Für AmigaOS 4, AROS und MorphOS ist Sqrxz 3 schon über drei Jahre erhältlich. (snx)
