• Moved a few login routines to a new order, may work better for the Search service being started at login. (No idea, really)

Diese neue Version bereinigt einige Fehler mit WarpSCUMM. Folgende Änderungen wurden durchgeführt:

• Reworked some bits and split up the code into more functions.
• Fixed two OS related issues reported by PatchWorks.
• Fixed a tiny memory leak.
• Subtask signaling tweaked and modified to work better.
• Priorities are now set correctly for WarpOS mirror-subtasks also.

Zwei Vertriebs-Mitarbeiter (Liz Barnick und David Brott) wurden bereits im Januar eingestellt, weitere Neueinstellungen sollen folgen.

Seinen ersten öffentlichen Auftritt wird Amiga Inc. vom 12. - 15. März auf der in San Francisco stattfindenden "Embedded Systems Show" haben.

AmigaOS 4.0 wird auch erwähnt, und dabei die Arbeit von Hyperion gewürdigt. (cd)

Nachtrag 24.02.2002:
In dem Executive Update hat folgender Absatz für viel Aufmerksamkeit und Diskussionen gesorgt: "We will be in booth #1602, located in the South Hall of Moscone Center. We will be showing the new Amiga technology, and some exciting new features never before seen in any other product. We will also be making at least one announcement there at the show."
Das heißt soviel, wie "Wir werden auf dem Stand #1602 sein, der sich in der Südhalle des Moscone-Centers befindet. Wir werden die neue Amiga-Technologie vorstellen, und einige wunderbare neue Features zeigen, die in noch keinen anderen Produkten gezeigt wurden. Außerdem werden wir auf der Show eine Ankündigung machen".

Nachforschungen haben ergeben, dass es sich bei Stand Nr. #1602 um den Stand von Microsoft handelt.

Greetings to the Global Amiga family,

Yes, I know that it has been more than a week, and yes the deal is still on, and yes we are moving very quickly as I will outline to you all below

I want to personally thank our friends and families for sticking with us and with our dreams as they are coming to reality.

As Amiga has matured over the last two years, and our plans only slightly changed I would like to say thank you to each and every one of you for your patience and excitement as we move forward.

In 1999 Amiga, Inc. decided to take a very different road than the ones previously charted for the community. It was met, by some, with disbelief, most with excitement as a path was being laid towards a future where digital content would be accessed by any digital device. Amiga selected an unknown partner in the Tao-Group of Reading England, and I can assure you that this was the best decision we have made.

Tao and Amiga have never been closer as a true partnership is in place. I want to thank Francis Charig my dear friend, and the rest of the Tao team as they been instrumental to the successes that will become public knowledge soon.

However with all of the great plans that were in place and the product development that had started there was still the issue of having funds necessary to make it all happen, and the addition of Frank Wilde as our Chairman has been amazing help, and I can say we are moving forward in ways that are going to bring Amiga to new levels, and I could not be more happy with the results that we are seeing.

Thank you to everyone of you who are keeping the faith and spreading the truth about Amiga.

I have several announcements that are happening here, and you need to know that we are definitely going to have more Amiga enabled products ship in 2002 than in any year previous.

1. Our STB partner - Nokia, and their new Media Terminal. Yes, the same Nokia that you all know and love. Amiga will be pre-loaded on these products and we will begin shipping on them before summer this year. More information will be made available soon.
2. I often get messages asking when we are going to let the rest of the world know what is happening. Well for all of you who have asked - Amiga will be at the Embedded Systems Show in San Francisco, CA, March 12 through the 15th. We will be in booth #1602, located in the South Hall of Moscone Center. We will be showing the new Amiga technology, and some exciting new features never before seen in any other product. We will also be making at least one announcement there at the show.
3. We have two more new members added to the team and there are many more that will be announced soon. The first two are part of our sales team. Both are dynamic and excited to be part of the Amiga family. Liz Barnick and David Brott joined us in January, and are establishing themselves quickly with regards to new business, and great ideas. I have included information about them both in a separate document that is attached to this update.
4. AmigaOS 4.0 is moving ahead very nicely and I could not be more pleased with Hyperion and their ability to get things done. We will all be very proud of their efforts, and I know that many of you will be rewarded with what they have already accomplished, and with the product that they are building.

• Es gibt jetzt die Möglichkeit, im Objektdateneditor über zwei Pfeilknöpfe zwischen Objekten zu wechseln, so braucht der Editor nicht für jedes zu bearbeitende Objekt neu geöffnet werden.
• Es wird jetzt in mehreren Ordnern nach einem Keyfile gesucht. Die Präferenzen der Anwender sind da recht unterschiedlich; die Datei bonds.reg darf nun in folgenden Ordnern liegen: S: - Bonds: - Bonds:System/ - DEVS:Keyfiles
• Des weiteren wurden einige Fehler korrigiert:
  • Depotmanager rechnet jetzt die Kosten richtig aus
  • Der Kommandozeilenparameter "JUSTUPDATE" funktioniert wieder
  • Einige Umlautfehler
• Im Depotbestandfenster werden jetzt die Gesamtwerte für Performance, Marktwert und Buchgewinn angezeigt
• Es werden jetzt zunächst alle Kurse aus dem Netz geholt und anschließend in die Datenbank einsortiert

Anfangs möchte ich mich entschuldigen, dass unsere Homepage relativ selten aufgefrischt wird. Leider ist die Nachfrage nach Amigaprodukten auch nach unserem Relaunch nicht wesentlich gestiegen. Ihr könnt euch vorstellen, dass diese Situation für jemanden, der Geld in den Markt pumpt, sehr unbefriedigend und frustrierend ist - immerhin kostet mich ein Jahr "Amiga" regelmäßig einen Kleinwagen. Meine berufliche Auslastung lässt es leider nicht zu, mehr Zeit in den Amiga zu investieren. Dafür bitte ich um Verständnis. Diese Situation wird aber Auswirkungen auf unser Geschäft im Jahr 2002 haben. Ich bin nicht bereit, ein weiteres Jahr ohne Urlaub dem Amiga zu opfern!

Die "Maßnahmen" im Einzelnen:

• Im April 2002 schließen wir unser Geschäftslokal in der Rechbauerstrasse in Graz.
  Die Schließung erfolgt aus dem Grund, weil ich Kosten optimieren muss, und mehr Leistung zur Verfügung stellen möchte. Das Ziel war, Wohnung und Geschäft möglichst nahe zusammen zu legen. Eine neue Wohnung wird mit 1. Mai bezogen. In deren Umkreis stehen derzeit einige Optionen für ein neues Ladengeschäft zur Verfügung. Ab Mai werden wir diese Möglichkeiten etwas genauer in Betracht ziehen. Einerseits haben wir bis dahin Geld gespart und andererseits, werden wir bis dahin bzw. bis Sommer (hoffentlich) sehen, was der Amiga Markt wirklich zustande gebracht hat - derzeit EUR 900,- pro Monat zu investieren, um zu sehen was passiert, ist zuviel.
  
  
• Am 4.5. und 5.5.2002 findet die O.A.S.E. Spring 2002 wieder statt, sofern eine geeignete Location dafür in Graz gefunden wird.

• a) Die Produkte sind dann real vorhanden oder
• b) eben nicht. Dann wird die O.A.S.E. eben zur Fatamorgana ;)

Den Fall b) muss ich, denke ich, nicht weiter erklären. Falls wirklich nichts mehr kommt, ist es eben vorbei. So leid mir das tut. Irgendwann muss auch ich einen Schlussstrich ziehen.

Audio Evolution 4
AE4 will be demonstrated at the Alt-WoA show. More information is also available on the newly opened (but still partly under construction) support website for Sultan Systems & Software, Computer City's software-brand. Of course, more information on Audio Evolution can also be found on the official site. Audio Evolution 4's planned release-date is April 2002.

Diese Änderungen waren notwendig, da ich in Zukunft Skripte und Programme benötige, welche mein jetziger Webhoster mir in einem normalen Webpack nicht anbieten kann.

Die Mirrors von Frogger und Softcinema werden in den nächsten Tagen eventuell auch noch umziehen. Ob und wann dies geschieht, muss ich noch mit den Webmastern klären.
