Editor: Lite XL 2.1.4r1 für AmigaOS 4 und MorphOS
George 'walkero' Sokianos hat die Version 2.1.4r1 des Editors Lite XL für AmigaOS 4 und MorphOS veröffentlicht (amiga-news.de berichtete). Die Änderungen im Überblick:
Hinzugefügt
- Es wurde die Möglichkeit hinzugefügt, Dateien und Ordner per Drag 'n Drop auf das LiteXL-Symbol zu öffnen, wenn dieses auf dem AmiDock (AmigaOS4) / Panel (MorphOS) liegt
Aktualisiert
- Aktualisierung des Codes auf die Upstream-Version 2.1.4
Korrigiert
- Reparieren des Öffnens von Dateien aus dem Stammverzeichnis eines Geräts

"Komoda & Amiga Plus" widmet sich an Retro-Gamer und beschäftigt sich hauptsächlich mit Commodores 8-Bit-Rechnern und Amigas. Zu den Themen der aktuellen Ausgabe 25 (Frühling/Sommer) gehören u.a. diverse Spielebesprechungen wie zu BreakThru und ein Interview mit Paolo Cattani (früheres Interview).

Musiktipp: "Grogon - Hoppy Cardiocore"
'no9' arbeitet seit Jahren im Audiobereich und komponiert auch gelegentlich Musik für Spiele. Auf seinem YouTube-Kanal veröffentlicht er auch immer wieder eigene Kompositionen, wie nun das Stück "Grogon - Hoppy Cardiocore". Er verwendet dafür den "ProTracker 2"-Klon für Windows von Olav Sorensen (amiga-news.de berichtete). (dr)

Beat 'em Up: Aktualisierung von Final Fight Enhanced
Ende Januar hatte Entwickler 'Prototron' seine in Maschinensprache geschriebene verbesserte Umsetzung von Capcoms Final Fight veröffentlicht (amiga-news.de berichtete). Jetzt wurden einige kleiner Fixes, ein neuer Move und ein neues Musikstück hinzugefügt.
Die Änderungen in der Übersicht:
- added new music to the elevator stage
- added guy and Maki's "off the wall jump"
- fixed a bug that crashed the game when Belger was killed with a regular punch
- removed some superfluous collision checks from Belger in an attempt to fix the stall bug
- some minor animation fixes, plus checks added to prevent some bugs that didn't halt the player during level transitions
Der Entwickler weist darauf hin, dass es sich bei der Umsetzung ausdrücklich um ein privates, nicht-kommerzielles Projekt handelt. Benätigt wird ein ECS- oder AGA-Amiga mit 2MB Chip-RAM und 512KB Fast-RAM.

Video: Installation von Internet-Tools und Spieletests auf einem PiStorm-Amiga
Auch wenn George 'walkereo' Sokianos sich vor allem auf die Entwicklung von AmigaOS4-Software konzentriert, so verfügt er dennoch auch über klassische Hardware. In einem ausführlichen Video zeigt er, wie er seinen mit einer PiStorm-lite aufgerüsteten Amiga 1200 mit der nötigen Internetsoftware bestückt und diese testet. Außerdem testet er einige WHDLoad-Spiele. (dr)

Rundenbasierte Strategie: Bugfix-Update Mai 2024 für "Settle the World"
Christian 'TheoTheoderich' Wiegel schreibt zu seinem gerade veröffentlichten Update:
"Das Bugfix Update ist fertig und wird jedem empfohlen, der bisher noch auf der Version von April 2024 spielt.
Zusätzlich zur Behebung von Bugs ist das Bewegungssystem von Einheiten überarbeitet worden.
Einheiten können sich nun etwas weiter bewegen und der Spieler sollte die Meldung über zu wenig Bewegungspunkte nun deutlich seltener angezeigt bekommen.
Weiterhin ist Settle the World nun auch komplett in deutscher Sprache spielbar.
Damit ist auch die technische Grundlage für weitere Übersetzungen in andere Sprachen gelegt.
Natürlich enthält das Spiel auch weiterhin noch Fehler oder Features, die noch nicht richtig funktionieren.
Settle the World ist auch noch lange nicht fertig, aber mit diesem Bugfix Update deutlich besser spielbar, als je zuvor.
Ich würde mich sehr über Rückmeldungen von Spielern zu diesem Update freuen. Der Arbeitsaufwand zur Erstellung dieses Updates war wirklich enorm.
Settle the World kann wie immer kostenfrei von der Projektseite heruntergeladen werden." (dr)

Boing Attitude hatte im Oktober 2023 die siebente Ausgabe des französisches Printmagazins "BOING" veröffentlicht. Unter anderem war dort auch ein Interview mit George 'walkereo' Sokianos zu lesen, der unter anderem federführend die WebKit-Portierung für AmigaOS 4 verantwortet und Softwareprojekte wie den Editor Lite XL für AmigaOS 4 und MorphOS umsetzt. SCSI-Emulation: BlueSCSI-Toolbox V1.2
Die BlueSCSI-Toolbox vereint zwei Dienstprogramme zur Verwaltung eines BlueSCSI V2 oder ZuluSCSI in einem Commodore Amiga.
Der CD-Wechsler ermöglicht es, zwischen CD-ISO-Images auf der SD-Karte während des Betriebs zu wechseln. Mit dem SD-Transfer-Tool wieder kann man Dateien von der SD-Karte auf den Amiga übertragen.
