AMP 2 Version V2pre4 erschienen
Von dem MPEG-Player AMP 2 ist eine neue Vorversion erschienen, in welcher
das Problem beseitigt wude, dass die Schieber nicht funktionierten. Der
AC3 Decoder ist nun zum Hören von AC3Streams in DVD Clips einsetzbar.

Als kleiner Bruder des EZP@gerNG unterstützt die Classic Edition nur
Funkruf-Empfänger (Pager) bestimmter deutscher Netzbetreiber und ist
auch sonst vom Funktionsumfang etwas eingeschränkt.
Änderungen in dieser Version:
Die Empfänger-Suchgadgets aktualisieren die jeweilige Empfänger-Liste
jetzt sofort nach jedem geänderten Zeichen. Das Stringfield-Gadget
wurde überarbeitet.

Mit Fnurr2000 ist kleine Neuprogrammierung eines alten, lustigen und sehr einfachen
Spiels erschienen. Bei dem Spiel geht es darum, kleine Pixel zum Explodieren
zu bringen. (Avoid homing pixels).

Interview mit Hyperion
Auf der Homepage der Amiga Future befindet sich seit heute ein sehr
umfangreiches Interview mit Hyperion. Hier erfahren Sie wie Hyperion
entstanden ist, wie die Spiele finanziert werden und welche Spiele
in der Zukunft erscheinen werden. Es dürfte wohl eines der
umfangreichsten Interviews der Amiga Future sein.
Inzwischen hat die Amiga Future auch Vertriebspartner im Ausland gefunden.
Bei Computer City und Amigaland wird die Amiga Future nun auch erhältlich
sein. Außerdem noch bei diversen anderen Händlern. Eine Liste, die immer
aktualisiert wird, befindet sich auf der Homepage der Amiga Future.
APC&TCP sucht immer noch für das
Spieleprojekt "Phönix" einen zusätzlichen C++ Programmierer, der den
Hauptprogrammierer des Spieles tatkräftig unterstützt. Außerdem wird noch
ein zusätzlicher Cando-Programmierer für ein weiteres Spieleprojekt gesucht.

Finnish Amiga Users Group Announces User Group Meeting
ESPOO, FINLAND - September 21, 2000 - Finnish Amiga Users Group will host
its annual user group meeting on Saturday September 30th from 14:00 to
17:45 in Espoo, Finland. The event will start with a formal meeting, and
an informal part will follow after 15:30 o'clock.
An Amiga dealer will be present with various Amiga items for sale. The user
group will also demonstrate the Amiga Software Development Kit on Linux.
Other highlights include various Amiga magazines for reading, demonstration
of licensed Amiga mobile phone covers and plenty of good company. Admission
is free of charge and free soft drinks will be available.

Tao Group: intentTM Official Support Centre to open in Japan
Tao Group gibt in einer Pressemitteilung bekannt,
zusammen mit Fujitsu Aichi Engineering Limited (Fujitsu AEL) in Japan
ein technisches Support Center für Taos Intent aufzubauen.
September 19, 2000 - Berkshire-based Tao Group Limited and Fujitsu Aichi

Support Centre in Japan, to provide technical support services for Japanese

WarpGIF-Datatype Bugfix (V40.3)
Neues Bugfix des WarpGIF-Datatypes.
- Jetzt ab OS 3.0 lauffähig.
- Verbesserte Fehlerüberprüfung.
- Die lokale Farbpalette wird jetzt eingelesen. Einige Bilder wurden vorher
in falschen Farben angezeigt.
- Die Größe der lokalen Farbpalette wird jetzt richtig berechnet. Dies
führte dazu, dass einige Bilder und Anims als fehlerhaft angesehen wurden.
Die neue Version des WarpGIF-DTs wurde mit IBrowse und AWeb, so wie diversen Bildern
im GIF87a- und GIF89a-Format erfolgreich getestet!

Aufgrund der Tatsache, dass keine dieser PCI-Lösungen bisher auf dem Markt
erhältlich sind, ist es derzeit nicht möglich, dem Wahrheitsgehalt beider
Varianten auf den Zahn zu fühlen. Erfahrungsberichte von Usern nehmen wir gerne entgegen.

We, Elbox Computer company, the company involved with microcomputer
technology for over 18 years, the company with the principles of
reliability, honesty and care for our clients, feel obliged to
release this announcement to protect interests of Amiga users.
For several weeks now, the Eyetech company has been involved in
a propaganda action against our breakthrough product for Amiga
computers: the MEDIATOR PCI. Eyetech publish and disseminate untrue
views on MEDIATOR, the exceptional busboard, and compare this
high-end product with their announced device.
It is not our way to comment on others' activities, yet under
the current circumstances we feel obliged to explain this situation
and Eyetech's accusations to Amiga users and to comment on the idea
indicated by Eyetech (or any other company behind the Eyetech
nametag).
BLIZZARD PPC LOCAL BUS LIMITATIONS:
Eyetech announced releasing a product they called competitive to
our MEDIATOR high-end card.
Technical specification of this product has been announced in
such a way that Amiga users would have to misread it.
The idea of connecting a PCI/AGP busboard directly to Blizzard PPC
cards gives worse performance than MEDIATOR because:
- This solution is only for owners of Blizzard PPC accelerators.
You have to stick with your Blizzard PPC 603e for ever.
No change, no open structure, no versatility.
- Practical average data transfers over the busboard connected
directly to Blizzard PPC cards will not be higher than achieved
with MEDIATOR - due to technical limitations of Blizzard PPC
cards.
- Connection of a busboard to the connector used for inserting
a BVision card renders further use of the BVision card
impossible.
MEDIATOR OPEN SOLUTION:
The MEDIATOR high-end busboard is the best solution for Amiga
computers to offer high-speed support for PCI cards.
The MEDIATOR busboard is a well-thought product, with long-standing
history of design development and a vision for its lasting
evolution, to give Amiga users power they have not had so far.
Our basic idea is that MEDIATOR is an OPEN solution, capable of

Amiga auf MDR 3
Habe gerade einen A3000 und A4000 auf dem Sender MDR 3 in Digitale Welt
(2) gesehen. Hier wurden Videos und Animationen gezeigt, die mit dem
Amiga erstellt wurden. Einige wurden sogar in Discotheken vorgeführt.
Mehr kann ich leider nicht sagen, da ich erst kurz vor Programmschluss
eingeschalten habe. Der Beitrag lief von 11.30 bis 12.00 Uhr. (ps)

Zukunft vom Warpgate ungewiss
Wie der Webmaster Andreas Wendorf gestern in einem IRC-Interview mitteilte,
ist die Zukunft des Warpgate's ungewiss. Er bemängelt die Akzeptanz der
Programmierer und Software-Firmen, die das Team von Warp9 nur unzureichend
mit News beliefern.
Die englischsprachige News-Seite, rund um das Thema WarpOS und Warp3D, die
im März 1999 online ging, stellte diese Projekt schon einmal still und belebte
die Seite nach unzähligen Useranfragen im Februar 2000 wieder.
