The all new Contacts application supports synchronizing contacts from CardDav services, including Google Contacts, iCloud Contacts or any other compatible service like Runbox, Synology, etc. When set up, Iris will link the email addresses to Contacts in order to display any configured photos and other details. Willem Drijver (Apollo Team) (ANF)

Apollo team working on a port of "Robin Hood: Legend of Sherwood"
Willem Drijver from the Apollo team informs us that the team is working on porting the Realtime Strategical Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood to the Apollo hardware. The game was published in 2002 for Windows and ported to MorphOS by e.p.i.c. / Runesoft in 2006. When approached by amiga-news.de, Gunnar von Boehn (Apollo team), who was involved in the MorphOS port back then, confirms that the team is in contact with the rightsholders and that the intention is to distribute the Apollo version of Robin Hood commercially.

Drijver has published a video showcasing the current state of the project, he describes the work done on the "experimental exercise" (Drijver) so far as follows:

"RHLOS is a great RPG game from SpellBound released in 2002 and intended for Pentium PCs (233Mhz/64Mb). Current stage of the project is that we have succeeded in getting the game somewhat up-and-running on V4. The FPS is obviously not on the level that we would like it to be, but basic gameplay is already possible...

For compiling we used the ApolloCrossDev setup for Linux which is another (beta) project from Apollo team. Graphics routines are changed from SDL based APIs to native Apollo Blit and Scroll routines, partly in Assembler. Sound routines are also rewritten and are now using Apollo Arne instead of SDL. There is still some work to be done on the mixer and effect routines, but we are confident to make that work also.

There is still a lot of work to be done to get RHLOS up to a level where it could be released in any form or shape. But we share this first results with you with the intention to raise interests within the Amiga (development) community. If you feel you have the skills and time to help us in this project, we are looking for you to join us! (please PM me on Discord @WillemDrijver)." (cg) (Translation: cg)

Alinea Computer: TV-Port and OmniPort EX available
Press release: Alinea Computer is very pleased to present two versions of the TV-Port and the OmniPort EX. Both products are port expansion boards that can be easily combined with each other.

TV-Port

The TV port is an interface board for every Amiga 600/1200 from which the TV modulator has been removed. The free space allows a hardware interface on the Amiga 600/1200 desktop case to be neatly routed to the outside. The following interfaces are available: 1x USB, 1 x HDMI FFC, HDMI Indivision MK2cr/MK3 or 1x Micro-SD. The TV port can be easily installed in the Amiga 600/1200 using the mounting block supplied.
The basic version of the TV port can be purchased for between ¤9.99 and ¤14.99, depending on the variant.

OminPort EX and OminPort EX for Vampire 2

The OmniPort EX is an extended version of the OmniPort multiport adapter - as reported earlier - which leads various hardware interfaces on the Amiga 1200 desktop case cleanly to the outside via the expansion port. The following interfaces are led out in the standard version: 2x USB (USB card), 1 x HDMI (IndivisonMK2cr/MK3) and 1x Micro-SD (SD2IDE).

The OmniPort EX for the Vampire 2 has the following interfaces: 2x USB (USB card), 1x HDMI (Vampire 2) and 1x network (Vampire 2).

The special feature of the EX version is that the motherboard can be equipped with an additional piggyback board. Boards for 1x USB, 1x Micro-SD, 1x HDMI for Indivision MK3 or 1x HDMI FFC with ribbon cable clamp connection are available here. The piggyback board can be easily installed in the Amiga 1200 together with the motherboard using the mounting block supplied.

In order to be able to use the respective interfaces on the TV port or OmniPort EX, the corresponding hardware must already be installed in the Amiga 600/1200.

Suitable cables and adapters are available as standard or as an option.

The basic version of the OmniPort EX can be purchased from 26.95 Euro. The optional piggyback boards range from 9.99 Euro to 14.95 Euro. The basic version of the OmniPort EX Vampire 2 can be purchased from 35.95 euros. The optional piggyback boards range from 9.99 euros to 14.95 euros. (dr)

Video tutorial: Creating a vertical scrolling demo with Scorpion Engine
Erik 'earok' Hogan has posted on YouTube a recording of a Twich stream showing how to create a vertically scrolling demo from scratch on the Amiga (and Sega Mega Drive) using the Scorpion Engine.

As the developer explains, the Amiga has no native support for column scrolling, but it does have the ability to display sprites with infinite height, which makes it possible to emulate the effect. The demo versions for the Amiga and the Sega Mega Drive look the same, but the setuo is fundamentally different. (dr)

Video tutorial: The Blitz Basic tool "Drawer Helper"

The basic idea of the Commodity is to integrate a little of the functionality of Directory Opus into the Workbench. When a window is open, pressing F1 gives a small toolbar and thus the functionality to, for example, refresh the window, create/delete a folder or insert files. (dr)

AmigaOS 4: USB Audio 2 Recording and Playback with "USBAudio2
Lyle Hazelwood had already worked intensively on audio playback under AmigaOS 4 in the past: he had completed a USB-CAMD-MIDI driver, further developed the MIDI sequencer BarsnPipes for AmigaOS 4 or published various MIDI libraries and tools. Now he has written "USBAudio2", a small tool that supports USB devices with the "audio protocol 2" of the USB standard. It should now be possible to operate webcams, for example. The tool is controlled via the shell by means of three commands for playing and recording or displaying the input level. (dr)

Event: Further informationen on AmiWest 2023
From 12 to 15 October 2023, AmiWest 2023 will take place in Sacramento, California. Now the organisers have published further information:

"The AmiWest 2023 is coming fast! Going strong since 1998, this year will be the 26th year of the longest-running Amiga-focused show in the world. Set in Sacramento, CA, the Sacramento Amiga Computer Club and a dedicated group of volunteers host the event.

Kicking off on October 12th is the AmiWest Developer Conference. AmiWest has been hosting a DevCon for about a decade. This is two days of focused learning and sharing from experts worldwide on the latest AmigaOS developments, and this year will be no different. Hosted by Steven Solie, lead developer on the ExecSG team, the DevCon will cover various AmigaOS flavors, discussing topics like debugging, DMA routines, and more.

The main exhibition opens at 10:00 AM on Oct 14th. Trevor Dickinson of A-Eon will launch the show with A-Eon news and announcements. Following Trevor will be a full schedule of speakers from across the globe. Speakers include RJ Mical (original Amiga dev), Michal Schulz (author of EMU68k ), and more. For those who cannot make it, we will livestream the day on YouTube. All the details are on the AmiWest webpage.

The exhibit hall will feature over 10 exhibitors. Many returning friends of the show, like Doug Compton of 10 MARC and Mr. Toast. We also expect Matthew Leaman of AmigaKit to return to the show for the first time since 2017. Also joining us for the first time is Ricardo Quesada with his UniJoySticle2 product. A full list of exhibitors is posted on the AmiWest website.

The banquet starts at 7 PM on Saturday, October 14th, featuring Garry Hare, Ph.D. He was the CEO of Amiga Inc. from 2003 to 2005, directly following Bill McEwen. You can read more about Garry's involvement in the latest edition of "From Vultures to Vampires" volume two. Garry will provide unique insights into Amiga's history from a rarely heard voice.

The SACC Sales Table will be back, offering a variety of Amiga parts, books, and software. There will also be some complete Amiga classic systems for sale! We expect to have on sale an A2000 and an A500, possibly more.

The show will also have a raffle filled with cool gadgets for all your computers. After you grab your raffle tickets, be sure to stop by the game's competition table and give Knightmare a spin for a chance to win this year's trophy.

Keep an eye on the AmiWest blog for the latest update on the show. In 1994, folks said the Amiga was dead. Boy, were they wrong!" (dr)

Platform game: Updated demo version of "Super Delivery Boy"
Two years ago, NeesoGames published the last demo version of "Super Delivery Boy" (amiga-news.de reported). As the developers report, the development of the game has progressed continuously despite the lack of public updates (YouTube video). What has changed:
  • Animated Main Menu with options (music and sound volumes are saved on disk)
  • Up to 64 colors on screen (EHB mode)
  • Every level (but the interiors) have multi layer parallax scrolling
  • Mission hub
  • New tiles, platforms, visual and sound effects
  • Overall game rebalanced
  • ... and, as usual, a lot more for you to find out!
Future plans:
  • The game will feature 4 main levels based on the 4 seasons
  • Each level will feature different enemies, puzzles, secrets and so on
  • The level in the demo can be identified with spring, summer level will be in the next public release, then hopefully the remaining levels will be released on season change but I can't promise!

Puzzle game: Connect V1.4
In the puzzle game "Connect" (screenshots), you have to connect a series of ICs in such a way that each chip receives exactly the number of connections printed on its package. Developer Frank Röger has written about the now released version 1.4:

"Hello all, just in this moment we uploaded an updated version of Connect. It contains the following changes:

1. At the R2C2 user meeting, we did a lot of coop games and got stuck for a very long time in some games when we couldn't find the bug on the game board. There the idea was born to be able to display the error by pressing a key, to prevent excessively long searches. No sooner said than done, this function is now in the game. By pressing the H key, all chips that do not have the required number of connections are marked red. However, this help has the disadvantage that the game time is set to 9999 seconds. This is not enough for a new highscore, but it is helpful for people who want to solve "all" game boards completely. Please note that this only works in solo and coop mode.

2. The bug devil has crept in. We found him drawing the game cursor excessively on the game board. Luckily we were able to tame it and get some performance out of it, especially on the Amiga 500. :)

3. The manual has been updated. In it you will now find an overview of all shortcuts available in the game.

Have fun playing!" (dr)

Turn-based strategy game: Farm update for "Settle the World"
After several developer diaries in which he describes his programming progress, Christian 'TheoTheoderich' Wiegel has published a farm update for his turn-based building and trading game "Settle the World". He writes about it:

"This update is also just another small step on the way to a complete game.

I have completely rewritten much of the programme code for the game over the last few months. The game was not originally designed to be greatly expanded. But since there is still a lot missing in Settle the World (regular elections, natives, computer opponents, etc.) it became urgent to rework everything.

The advantage is that the game now requires much less chip RAM and I can therefore include more music tracks in the coming months.

The changes

Pioneers can now build farms after the citizens of your cities have reached the worker class for the first time. Farms are needed later in the game to supply the aristocrat class with meat and wine.

There are new units to make the best use of farms:
  • Cowboys for cattle breeding
  • Grape pickers, to harvest grapes
  • Winemakers, to produce wine from grapes (luxury good for the aristocrat class)
  • Butchers to process cattle into meat (food for the aristocrat class).
New buildings:
  • Wine press (can be built on farms)
  • Slaughterhouse (can be built in cities)
Other new features:
  • Integrated help texts/guidance (but it's still early days).
  • More sound effects.
  • More intermediate images for events.
  • New function "Move to town". Moves units via pathfinding to the selected city.
  • New terrain type "Plains".
  • Millitary supply wagon to heal/repair damaged millitary units outside cities or to equip colonists to soldiers.
  • Soldiers can mount horses outside of cities and thus become dragoons.
  • Map generator completely rewritten. No longer generates diagonal land bridges and creates varied landscapes.
  • There are now more whales, horses and bison on the map.
  • Unnecessary transport units (ships and trade wagons) can be destroyed in cities and the player gets half of the construction costs back.
  • Citizens of higher classes of citizen now need more food types per turn (fish and meat in addition to wheat).
  • Large ships can now only anchor in cities if at least one dock is available.
  • The entire graphics system has been reworked to free up more chip mem memory for more future in-game music.
  • Countless things have been added, changed, tried and thrown away since the last update in February 2023.
What's still "missing" in this update:

Elections

Keeping citizens happy does not yet have a big impact on the game. In the future, there will be regular elections, which the player must win in order to remain in power. The technical foundations for such an election system have been laid in the current version.

Native people

Here, too, the basis for integrating native tribes into the game has been created in the current version. The plan is to place native villages and units on the map with which the player can interact. Unfortunately, I did not manage to include this feature in time.

Computer opponents

CPU-controlled opponents are very complex to implement. I have been working on this intensively for several weeks, but I have to put this feature off until later. With the programming of the natives I will hopefully be able to gain enough experience to be able to realise computer opponents later.

You see...I am far from finished with the development of -Settle the World- ;-)

So that the next update doesn't have to wait for months, there will be two versions available for download on the project page in the next weeks. One is the "official" update and the other is a current development version.

The development versions will hardly be tested, but most of them are compatible with the game state.

I hope this will give me some more feedback on the game ;-) (dr)

Motorola68k emulation: Beta version 2.1 of Emu68 (V0.16)
Developer Michal Schulz has released beta version 2.1 of his Motorola68K emulation Emu68 for the ARM architecture, focusing on the PiStorm and PiStorm32lite which fixes bugs of the previous version and introduces many important improvements. Changes:
  • CCR fixes. Beta 2 has changed internal handling of CCR, but unfortunately added several bugs due to the change. Beta 2.1 fixes all these problems, improving compatibility with m68k software.
  • Fixed fusing of MOVE instructions. Until now there were few corner cases where fusing of subsequent MOVE.L instructions resulted in wrong behavior of generated code. Thanks to Paraj this issues are solved now and fusing of MOVE.L instructions works without (hopefully) any bugs.
  • Added temporal instruction cache working on CHIP memory during JIT translation process. This greatly improves the translation itself, since not only the translator itself accesses instruction stream, but also CCR optimizer and CRC32 calculator.
  • Added optional slowdown of code executed from CHIP memory. This might be important for old games and/or demos which rely on CPU busyloops
  • Removed code inlining feature on 24-bit memory to reduce the need of crawling through the CHIP memory. Greatly improves the performance of demos/games where instruction cache is set to checksumming mode.
The beta version 2.1 is recommended for all PiStorm users. Per default the firmware is used in two-slot mode. By adding "one_slot" option to cmdline.txt one can force the single-slot operation.

The developer provides more detailed information on the changes in his new Patreon article. (dr)

Font: "TopazDouble" as Amiga-native recreation of Topaz
"TopazDouble" is an Amiga-native recreation of the 8×8 pixel Topaz font, now rendered in 8×16 for modern resolutions. As the developers wrote, the classic Amiga with 640×256 (PAL) uses a resolution close to 2:1 - which means that the standard Topaz font would be half-height if used with resolutions with a pixel aspect ratio closer to 1:1.

For some reason, an Amiga-native version of a double-height Topaz font for resolutions with a square (1:1) had never been written, which "TopazDouble" was now making up for.

This font is said to be ideal for "modern" resolutions such as 800×600, 1024×768, classic Amiga resolutions such as 640×400 and 640×512 (Hi-Res Interlace) - as well as 16:9 resolutions such as 720p and 1080p. (dr)

Game Construction Kit: Scorpion Engine 2023.3 / RetroAnimator (update)
The "Scorpion Engine" by Erik 'earok' Hogan enables the development of games. The engine itself is not open source, but all included demos and demo games are. The editor itself runs on Windows. Graphics are imported as PNG files, for level creation the editor Tiled is used. For sounds, music and animations Amiga formats (mod, 8svx, anim5) are used.

According to the developer the Scorpion Engine 2023.3 is the fastest version to date, and among many smaller improvements, it features a handful of major upgrades:
  • Support for the RetroAnimator animation toolkit for fluid animations.
  • Support for CDTV/CD32 music on Amiga.
  • Support for Column Scrolling on Mega Drive.
  • Export to CDTV/CD32 ISO on Amiga.
  • Export to DragonDrive cartridge on Mega Drive.
There is also a new introduction video that briefly covers all of the tabs, as well as the differences between the Amiga and Mega Drive platforms.

Update: (16:16, 25.08.23, dr)

As Erik Hogan informs us, he has now also released the above-mentioned RetroAnimator on his Patreon website. RetroAnimator is a toolkit that can be used to create super fluid animations with minimal memory usage. It was previously only used in Engine 9000 (which was used to make MetroSiege), now it's available to Scorpion Engine developers as well (though it technically could be adapted to any engine as it uses a simple JSON data format). One Joyful Day (ANF)

Preview video: Real-time strategy game "AI Kills All Humans"
"One Joyful Day" is a new Game Studio making games for Modern Amigas and PC. The first game is called "AI Kills All Humans" and is a tactical Real-time strategy game, in which you play as an AI, which due to a slight change in code, is sending robots to kill all humans.

You however don't have direct control of your robots, but robots independently decide how to execute your commands, like a general telling troops to attack, but troops themselves decide how. Release is planned for the fourth quarter of 2023.

The developer has already gained experience with earlier releases such as Help My Cat! (YouTube video), "Ducks Of Apocalypse" (YouTube video) or Hollywood with Designer Tutorial (part 1, part 2). "AI Kills All Humans" (Steam link) is also being written with Hollywood. Versions for AmigaOS 4, MorphOS and AROS are planned. There may also be a version for AmigaOS 3, but due to the requirements it will probably only be playable in emulation. (dr)

In October 2022, Budger Punch announced an Amiga version of their C64 game Rogue64 with improved graphics and adapted features (amiga-news.de reported). At the beginning of August a demo version was released for the AmiGameJam 2022 (YouTube video). Now a first update is available which among others fixes some bugs. The developers wrote:

"We have fixed issue with the game turning real-time when you tap the fire-button. We have added an instructions screen, and an (currently empty) Achievements screen. The spikes now work in the game. Be careful! The player now moves smoothly when there are not monsters in the room, to make backtracking less tedious.

We have also fixed some graphical glitches, and random memory writes that would corrupt the music. Hopefully this is good now, or at least a lot better!

There are other changes you will just have to find out yourselves. Have fun finding them!

We also want to say THANK YOU for all the awesome feedback and suggestions from all of you playing our game. It is so lovely so see the community embracing this hobby project, and want to help us make this a great game!" (dr)

Mediathek V0.3 for all Amiga systems
In early August, we presented Jörg Renkert's Hollywood implementation of the MediathekView program for Amiga systems. Five days ago he updated to version 0.3. It would have been quick to write a report about it, but we wanted to test the program in more detail, especially with regard to streaming.

In addition to some adjustments and bug fixes, the information on a selected program is now no longer displayed on the bottom right-hand side, but on the left-hand side in a separate tab, which is automatically switched to when a program is selected.

In our first article, streaming did not work at all, although we were told by Edgar Schwan, among others, that it worked for him. So let's take another closer look. Jörg Renkert has clarified the usage again in his German instructions: next to the path to the preferred player, a "%u" must be appended, which transfers the link of the stream to the program.

One thing can be said in advance: Emotion is the only video player that could stream all videos. On the X5000, however, it only makes sense to use the low quality, as the picture and sound are no longer synchronized with the medium quality. Incidentally, ORF programs can neither be streamed nor downloaded. All fields are grayed out. There are two different MPlayer versions for AmigaOS 4 in the OS4Depot: The Liveforit-MPlayerNG for AmigaOS 4 cannot stream broadcasts any more than Fabien Coeurjoly's port of MPlayer 1.1.1 for MorphOS (the only one that runs without AltiVec and can therefore be used on the AmigaOne X5000).

First I checked which version of MickJT-MPlayer was installed: of course the wrong one, the one for HD graphics cards...Perfect, error found, I thought. So I unpacked the RX version, read the readme (!): I found the note there that I also needed the older version for HD graphics cards (the full archive). Good, also unpacked. Then copied the (supposed) RX version to the disk in my existing directory and saw that the archives are otherwise no different. Started the media library again, selected the program, let MPLayer stream - error message again:

Can't be true... Should Edgar have swindled me? Of course not! ;) So out of desperation (or cleverness? ;) I chose another program and tried again. And what happened? I could suddenly hear sound! And read in the text of the output window that no window could be opened using the "comp_yuv2" driver. Why was that? And slowly it dawned on me: when unpacking the HD version of the MickJT player, I had probably overwritten the RX version...stupid mistake! So, I unpacked the RX archive again, and lo and behold: the application now had an "RX" at the end. So, I copied it over, selected the transmission, timidly pressed the "E" button, and?

There you go! :) To be on the safe side, I asked Daniel Westerberg again, who had uploaded the RX version. The only difference between the HD and RX version is actually only in the replacement of the graphics card driver used: the HD version from 2018 searches for the "RadeonHD.chip" at startup and refuses to open a window if it is not found or the corresponding graphics card is present. He simply replaced this "HD" with "RX" in the exe file.

When I tried it out further, however, I noticed that there are programs for which MickJT-MPlayer still refuses to play with the above error message. If you want to see an example: just enter the search term "Garten" and then select the BR program "Bauerngärten". It could not be the codec used, as both working and non-functioning programs used "libavformat version 57.25.100". I contacted Edgar Schwan again and the clever fox found the reason: the "Bauerngärten" movie is on the server "https://cdn-storage.br.de". Edgar had tried to download it using the "wget" tool. The answer he got was:

'The certificate owner does not match the hostname "cdn-storage.br.de"'.

He then switched off the certificate check and called the following command in the shell:

wget --no-check-certificate https://cdn-storage.br.de/MUJIuUOVBwQIbtCCBLzGiLC1uwQoNA4p_AQS/_-dS/_Akp5-Fd571S/d2cdb4c7-b7e3-4b0a-89ec-1a43bdf5d273_E.mp4

And: now it works! By the way, also with the LiveForIt-MPlayer! So if it is possible to deactivate this certificate check in the media library, you could then also use the LiveForIt-MPlayer and (presumably) also stream under MorphOS.

The only remaining question is why the DvPlayer cannot stream: as Hans de Ruiter (who gave the DvPlayer hardware acceleration) told us, in his opinion the libavformat library used should in principle be able to stream over the network. The use of this feature could be added in future versions of DvPlayer. (dr)

Frogger clone: Frogger (beta version)
After Croaker, RANA and Megafrog, Frogger is the fourth recent attempt to adapt the classic game produced by Sega in 1981 and developed by Konami, in which you have to guide a frog safely across a busy road and then across a river, for the Amiga. Frogger (YouTube video) is to be a 1:1 conversion of the Konam game and is written in assembler, based on the original Z80 code. (dr)

Game Construction Kit: RedPill 0.9.24
RedPill, developed by Carlos Peris, is a game construction kit written in Amiblitz 3.98, which allows the development of games from various genres (see short tests of two Redpill games). RedPill is compatible with AGA and ECS, the "player" for playing the finished creations requires a total of 1.5 MB RAM. Jens 'Farbfinsternis' Henschel has written a tutorial.

The new version 0.9.24 provides the following changes:
  • Added support for 64 global variables, it was 32.
  • In the exported game only the used variables will be allocated, potentially saving some memory.
  • Fix in the tile animations that was causing the exported games using them to run very slowly.
  • Simplified handling of reading exporting projects.
  • Fixes and implementations related to custom fonts usage in HUD and in triggers.
  • Exact values for friction and weight can now be set up and displayed.
  • Trigger help routines have been improved.
  • More triggers have been documented in the in-editor help.
  • Optimizations in the main loop of the game.
  • Optimizations in the tile comparison triggers.
  • Optimizations in the player input triggers.
  • Optimizations in the render code.
  • Some memory was wasted when changing the current mod being played, this has been optimized.
  • Some unused code has been removed.
  • Fixed a bug in Absolute Zero project when going back to menu and starting a stage again.

Emulation: Simplified installation guide for AmigaOS 4.1 under QEMU
In mid-April Amiga-News.de had published Rene Engel's updated installation guide of AmigaOS 4.1 under QEMU 8.1. Since then numerous attempts have been made to improve the emulation and simplify the installation. Rene Engel has kindly summarised the efforts for us and published a correspondingly updated and simplified installation guide in the forum (German):

"The QEMU developer Balaton Zoltan, who mainly concentrates on the Amiga operating systems MorphOS and AmigaOS 4.1 by means of Qmiga, has written an alternative boot loader for the Pegasos-2 emulation, which he himself calls BBoot. This bootloader simplifies Pegasos-2 installation many times over (YouTube video).

The modification of the Pegasos-2-Install-ISO and Pegasos2.Rom are no longer necessary. AmigaOS 4.1 Update 3 is also no longer needed, as A-Cube has made the Silicon Motion chip required for the emulation freely available on OS4Depot.

The new driver can now display resolutions up to 1920x1080, the limitation to 16 bit remains for the time being. With the new boot loader, up to 2048 MB memory allocation is now possible under the QEMU Pegasos 2 emulation. The boot process has accelerated again with the new boot loader.

They are currently working on an AmigaOne emulation, which already works to a limited extent." (dr)

Platform game: Tony demo version v1.2
Tony by Monochrome Productions is a monochrome platform game that is now available in version 1.2 on Aminet (YouTube video). After the programmer Paweł 'tukinem' Tukatsch first had written games like Farmiga in AMOS, he switched to the Blitz Basic 2 programming language and "trained" his skills with games like Ami-Tower or Wood Block Puzzle. Tony is now to be the first major game written with Blitz Basic 2, which is a tribute to the Polish journalist and travel writer Tony Halik.

As an explorer in the style of Indiana Jones, you travel through ancient ruins and try to avoid snakes, creepy insects and deadly pits with spikes. There are also various keys to find. In the new demo version 1.2, there is a new game menu and the entry of a code at the end of a level has been removed. Instead, you now have to collect the last key. In addition, throwing potions from the inventory has been removed: if you collect a key and have a full inventory, a potion turns into a key by itself.

If you are in the mood for some visual variety, you can now try out different colour palettes in the settings. (dr)
